32:20 that actually seems like level 1 charge down b, the move gets more power and height depending on his magma level. 28:00 thats his aerial neutral special. Its the same animation as the grounded one but since there is no magma to pull from its just a really strong kill move instead
Forsburn's character model was shown off so he's at least confirmed and with the three charges thing on Loxodont it makes me really curious to see if they change him or not. Same thing with the empowered strongs off a stage resource like Etalus, I wonder if there will be overlap or if they'll change these characters. Im so excited for this game and the new characters but it also makes me wonder what changes will be made. Like who the hell is currently using Forsburn's Empowered Clone? Great video, you caught a lot of things I missed :0
At 27:58 I dont think thats his down B, I think its aerial neutural B! When hes grounded, he digs his tusks into the ground to pull up the magma ball, so it would make sense that in the air he wouldnt be able to throw a magma ball and instead he throws YOU! It even looks like he might have charged it for a second in that clip.
I'm happy I'm not the only one who got so excited about this new character lol. He looks so sick, I doubt he will replace Kragg as my main but he will definitely be the first character I'll try out once I get my hands on the game. 32:19 here you mention that this is his empowered up tilt, I believe this is down special as well (a smaller charge level) just as the big explosion at 27:43. I remember reading on their official website that Loxodont's magma charges enhances only his strong attacks, his getup special and his down special, specifically that his down special launches him even further. Which is also why I think the move he uses at 28:02 might actually be his aerial neutral special as it looks kind of similar to his molten magma ball move, just in the air. Not very sure about this one though. Not that it really matters, just wanted to share how I think his moves function. We will figure it out soon enough anyways when the closed beta launches but I really wish they would do a small video explaining the mechanics as that would make it so much clearer.
While the attack at 2:10 looks really similar to down air, it don't think that's the case. If you go frame by frame you can tell slight differences in the animation between it and the down air we see later in the trailer. The most noticeable difference being that with the down air, Clairen is holding the sword with both hands until letting go with her right hand at the very end, but with this attack her right arm is out the side during the whole swing. In addition, the second hit is like spikes coming from the ground rather than just being exactly where Wrastor is, and the plasma spikes extend past the edge of Clairen's plasma field. My guess is that the whole thing is just a two hit ledge special.
@colbyjackc Sweet, good to know. I was wondering her up throw might not use her sword, kinda like Marth, and (if that were the case) whether the special pummel would still make it stun, or if you could throw combo into an auto stun aerial. Would be neat if you know
I dont think ive ever been more impressed with a pfg char's changes for a sequel Be nice if they took notes and gave some other chars a few more interesting tweaks for final release Only sad thing is, even tho obv she has normal grabs now, the aerial grabs wouldve been pretty badass (maybe neutralB+parry special input?)
And Loxodont is the perfect mix of approachable for new players + solid design Fits the Heavy archetype a little more traditionally than most of Rivals cast did for 1
