Either way Clairen is facing she has the same animation, just inverted. That means she's holding her sword in the left hand or the right hand depending on which way she's facing. This was kind of getting in my head despite my best efforts to ignore it. Then I noticed this tiny little detail. When you turn around with Clairen when you're not dash dancing, if you just are standing still and slow turn around Dan put an animation where she switches hands with her sword. What an incredible solution! That way you don't have to do an entire set of extra animations for the character AND you address my OCD. Incredible.

Hey man, appreciate that condescension! I'm pretty sure you didn't even read my comment beyond the first sentence before you posted this reply. Oh and you're also wrong. Think about playing as Marth in Smash Bros. Marth is right handed. Marth is always right handed. When he's facing left, he's right handed. When he's facing right, he's right handed. The animation is NOT mirrored. It's 3D so they just turn the character around, the animation is the same no matter which way he's facing, but they just turn the 3D model facing the other direction. Think about playing Soul Calibur, Siegfried always has his sword held low in front of him. If he's facing to the right his back is to the screen. If he's facing to the left his front is to the screen. The animations aren't mirrored they just turn the 3D model facing the other direction. And then if you had read the rest of my comment you would understand what I was getting at. Goodness bro.

It looks like they took Lucina's theme, Roy's fire, Marth's moveset, Illusory Dash, gave the sword Ike's sword length, and added Bayonetta's Witch Time on tipper hits. Seems pretty strong to me.

I know Vader and Rocket League car are joke requests, but I feel a character that would fit in so well in this game is Dust (and even Fidget) from Dust an Elysian Tail. I feel he is the most optimal choice for another 3rd party character.

Third Party characters I'm pretty sure don't have to be represented by an element, since Ori isn't represented by an element. They're there mainly for shoutouts to other series and for great fan service. Plus the reason I would say Dust is great because they seem to be keeping the roster mainly full of anthropomorphic characters, but I can't say that they will keep it that way. Still, I like Dust, and I would like to see him in the game since I believe he would add a lot to it.

This is an issue with GameMaker, the engine Rivals is developed in. Right now, there's no way to export from GameMaker to the Switch and Dan has said he's not going to rebuild the game from scratch for an additional platform. He's also said that if GameMaker _does_ get this functionality, it's something the team will consider.

I think it would be interesting if they added in a like deer or moose maybe for the earth character. My friend and I also had an idea for different "eras" they could pull characters from so to speak. Rivals from the prehistoric age aka dino rivals or mythical rivals like a dragon, golem, or Roc ( mythical bird ). What do you guys think?

It was confirmed on the GTX stream after Fullstream won with Ori without dropping a game. I believe Dan said they've mostly been looking at how Sein works.

Ori is getting Nerfed because charge flame was stupid broken so they nerfed that probably don't think ori deserves any other nerf after that though but ori will still be a great character
