Honestly, this is the best Super hero show of all time. Despite its cheesiness at times, it still managed to produce some great moments. Tom Welling played a young Clark Kent to perfection, and would've been a great Superman. Michael Rosenbaum will forever be the best Lex ever. Erica Durance is the best Lois ever. The list goes on

Your lucky that we saw a little bit of thorn clothes... The superman in comics use to have an aura that protects him and his suit. So it was really hard to rip. That aura could also make him lift a building without the building to even crack. We could see that aura in effect in the old Christopher reeves Superman when he lifted that block of ice.

There's a little tid bit buried in one of the comics about how he kinda projects an "aura" of invulnerability. Its supposed to explain the super durable costume and also not shattering peoples bones to dust while he catches them at mach 5.

People who know their own strength know how much force to use to acheive the desired effect w/o permanently hurting the person. It's where the saying 'pulling your punches" comes from. Literally every superhero with super strength never uses max strength on an opponent. They use a very very small percentage.

Eventually all of Clark's powers without the weakness to Kryptonite. It's total BS, really. She gets a synthetic super skin with no negative effects except that because she absorbed so much kryptonite she can never be around Clark again? I always thought her character was annoyin.

In the comics, especially in post-crisis Superman is an expert in hand to hand combat and also the only kryptonian who has complete mastery over their power. Tv shows and movies for some reason never shows Superman's combat training.

I grew up reading 1960's superman comics. It's such a tragedy how they have pussified superman since then. Even the first Christopher Reeves movie sucked! While I really liked the Smallville series (Even though Chloe and Pete didn't exist) they kinda over did it with the amount of Krytonite present (it was rare) and how many people it affected. In the beginning stories it only affected Kryptonians.
