It’s terribly heartbreaking and very human. While John is getting the speech he shows a little bit of emotion and regret but he’s trying to put on a brace face but as soon as Clark leaves he starts balling his eyes out. Great acting!!!

I honestly agree with what Clark is doing but I can also understand Jonathan. I mean his brother has super powers and so does his father. He feels left out and helpless. Clark starts to hang out more with Jordan because he has superpowers and “knows” what it’s like having them. They start doing stuff without including Jonathan. Jonathan just wants to feel like he’s useful and not having to shadow his brother. I get both sides. If only he got his powers the right way instead of using x-K.
Very much so. I remember a scene where Jonathan had just gotten out of a car wreck, was quite banged up, and Clark's response was basically "Ok, I'm off to see to your brother." Clark has been taking him for granted and I'm surprised he hasn't acted up earlier. Personally I hope this catalyses some natural powers to emerge.
except his brother getting powers and his father has nothing to do with it when you remember him last season, its more the Football team and one player who was taking and his girl dealing them to that player.

Regardless if he had football practice or not whether he had powers or not. It is still very much important for both of the boys to learn about their Kryptonian history. Also, their grandfather is now secretly training Jordan to one day help Clark in the future and is once again excluding Jonathan. Yes, we get it Jonathan doesn't have powers but you can still train him because Lane is not an alien by any means yet he has taken on that task to prepare Jordan. I am not saying that the boys have to do everything together but when it is regarding matters of learning about your Kryptonian family history, training yourself to be better to protect your family and friends around you. You should at least be kept in the loop, so you won't be caught lacking like they have so many times.

John is well aware that his performance in high school football means nothing in the larger scheme of things, especially when his dad is fighting alternate reality beings and aliens. It's fucking football. But it's what he can do for his dad to notice him, because he's the one who didn't get powers. It may be young love, or it may be something deeper. I'm not trying to project my life experiences onto where the writers _should_ take the show, but if _I_ were Jonathan, I would probably feel pretty miserable, invalidated, unloved, shamed, etc. about myself for not winning the genetic lottery.
Jonathan did not believe what his parents told him about him being special. Think about it. He only *_just_* found out that his own father was Superman, and his own twin brother has some of his dad's powers. Imagine living with that wrinkle in your reality. I can't imagine that sudden revelation would not have any affect on any teenager.
Except last season he was very different, also part blame is on his girl. she is bad influence on him and remember he was telling here he was done with the stuff moments before cops came and then also she cave him this sob story and like a noble idiot he took the rap for it. i said NOBLE and idiot cause his intention are good but she don't deserve it

I don't like Candace but I get why Jon covers for her. Not only he is a sweet loyal boy, he also os someone who feels alienated from everyone. He changed schools, lost all his friends and gf (realizing it was all fake), he lost his position on a great football team in a competitive school that would help his future, his brother got super powers, his dad only shared his kryptonian heritage to Jordan, and was never taken to meet his grandad, his mom is a world renowned journalist, his grandpa used him as a escale of mediocrity humanity measure with which compare his super especial brother. He couldn't even talk normally to Sarah because he is accused of hitting on her.... no matter that he stood by Jordan's side and lied to everyone to cover him, he gets accused of everything, he protected his mom, yet was the escape goat when she got overwhelmed with her feelings, he saved his grandpa when they were attacked and yet he's not recognized for it, and when his dad SUPERMAN lost his temper, he was the one who took him home regardless of the possible danger. So... yeah, he might feel that Candace is the only one on his side, who cares about him and only him, someone who sees him. Ofc he wouldn't rat. Sorry if this bright, amazing, brave and loyal teen made a mistake. I don't think he is a disappointment, he's lonely and sad, and no one fucking notices.

I think Jonathan could’ve trusted Clark to tell him the truth so he and Lois could figure out a way of helping Candace. Clark is always very empathetic, he will be mad because, Jonathan used drugs of course but I think they can help Candace if she and her family have issues it’s not like they are gonna send her to jail. (And if they send her good because I don’t like her🤣, he can do better)
Yeah, I was starting to get pretty ticked off with her. Every time she brought up her dad, it sorta made me feel bad, but then whenever she wasn’t, she was just acting so cavalier on Jon using goddamn space drugs!!
The issue is that the town doesn't have enough jobs to go around after the whole thing with Tal-Rho last season. Candace already explained she is doing it to help her family keep a roof over their head. Lois and Clark can't help that because there is no job in Smallville that pays more than drug dealing

Jon had special circumstances. This particular drug isn't meth or cocaine it gives you the powers of Superman. Any teenager would struggle with not taking it. I definitely would have taken it especially since the effects are minor compared to the results. Its made worse that Jon is the actual son of Superman living with a brother with the same powers who has been in multiple life threatening situations. Thats bound to make you feel inferior and scared. I personally would have taken the drugs and told Clark there's nothing he could do to stop me taking it and he just has to deal with it Sarah had no reason to kiss the girl other than she felt like it.

Doing drugs, especially experimental space drugs, when you’re a teenager is so much worse than Sarah kissing someone else and still choosing Jordan. It doesn’t matter that Jon was feeling left out or wanted to feel special, I get that, but doing drugs is NOT ok when you’re 15, especially when you don’t know all the side effects or potential dangers. And before you say Sarah was worse, I’ve seen people defend Oliver Queen after he slept with another woman behind his girlfriend’s back and got that women pregnant, then he slept with his girlfriend’s sister while he and his girlfriend were discussing their future plans to move in together. Sleeping with someone behind your SO back is so much worse than a kiss, and Oliver is defended by everyone because he’s the main protagonist of his show. So why are these same people saying Sarah’s a horrible person while defending Oliver, especially because Oliver was an adult man and Sarah is a teenager still figuring herself out and who she is as a person.

The way Jon broke down only after Clark left the room is so real. Like when your parents are yelling at you, all your attention is on them and what they're saying. But then once they leave and you're alone with your thoughts... the weight of your screwup just comes tumbling down all at once.
Especially when you consider the fact that before Jonathan and Jordan knew about all this about their dad and powers, JONATHAN was the star of the family.
His father is superman ,superman has to control his own Achilles without doing physical damage to his sons .One son could be soo dangerous to others just by using his super powers and needs training on how to control them ,the other twin hasn't got his powers to bloom yet ,but that could happen in the future and having someone else who can train him in control of his super powers would be a bonus point.Good on Clark for not doing anything physical to his son ,and he could kill his son without having any control .Doing drugs can mess up your lives and the lives of your loved ones ,by association .
I get Jonathan's feeling the need to protect Candice because her family would be in legal trouble if the truth got out especially since he's been dating her for a while. But there is nothing noble about keeping a tight lip about her selling X-Kryptonite in town she knew that what she was doing was wrong and chose to do it anyway. Risking his future and his reputation over a girl he's been dating for a few months isn't worth it if Candice has any real feelings for Jonathan she needs to confess that she's the dealer.
Tbh I don't think Clark and Lois's reactions were totally*** justified because they've always been way more strict with him and way more understanding with Jordan. Sure its bc Jordan has powers but at times it feels like they just don't focus on him as much and that's why he took the xk. He was taking drugs! No amount of feeling inadequate justifies a moronic decision like that. Jordan hasn't done anything quite that level. And it isn't like Lois and Clark have been mistreating him. Just because you are a teenager, doesn't mean that you get excused from the consequences of your actions because you are unable to deal with feelings of inadequacy.

Taking drugs is never a smart move for anyone especially since it only leads to self-destructive actions and behavior as well as it can also hurt those close to you as well. What Jonathan did was wrong, but Clark, Lois and Jordon should realize that how their treatment of him differently because he has no powers or abilities before and after the crazy events that happened to them, had a hand in Jonathan walking down a bad path. When you're the son or daughter of a superhero, how would you feel if your sibling had powers, but you do not have any? One would feel like an outsider, gets treated differently, feels like he/she is the less loved or cared about, feels like he/she is getting less attention, wants to be useful but is shot down or treated like a burden, and overall feels like they're living in the shadows of his/her superpowered family. Those bottled-up feelings will make anyone do stupid things like taking a drug to help their own powers emerge or seek other ways to get powers/abilities. While Clark is right about Johnathan making a stupid mistake that is his fault, Clark, Lois and even Jordon are at fault as well for pushing him into doing this stupid thing. And again, yes while Johnathan does deserve the chewing out that Clark gave him, some part of Clark should realize that he, Lois and Jordon pushed him into doing this and from what I can see, they just don't realize it or deny that they are partly to blame for what has transpired.

I don't know. The twins have been warned about the weird cult thing their aunt Lucy is a part of, so I kind of doubt it. But I guess that would depend on how someone can get to an emotionally vulnerable teenager
Seems to be where they’re headed. And like Nathan Bell said earlier, he could be the key to unlock that world. Wouldn’t be surprised if this didn’t start a redemption story for aunt Lucy. I know Lois and Clark will blame themselves because this is the CW but they didn’t, they acted well and far more constrained than most parents would.
I never expected this show to go so hard on the family aspect. That stuff is usually glossed over and/or cliched. But they are being so realistic here with the portrayal of anger and dealing with the consequences of one's actions. No sugar coating and instant forgiveness. Welcome to the real world with real consequences folks. And Johnathon will appreciate this someday. He went off the path and now his parents are going to help him get back on it

Well Lois and Clark gave Johnathan an ear full but he really needs to break up with Candice kind of scary seeing Superman himself getting angry but I like it seeing him as a Dad we don't get that often seeing Superheroes as parents I mean sure we see it with Black Lighting Green Arrow Flash in the CW shows and Batman in the animated movies but we don't get to see things like this the kids getting scolded for doing something stupid. While yeah they both really got angry but Johnathan knew what he was doing despite wanting to be better at football he didn't need XK to do it but when you want to be better you go down the wrong path to being perfect I really hope he breaks up with Candice he needs too. Clark and Lois won't be angry forever of course but damn when Lois was yelling I was thinking good thing she doesn't have any powers I can just see the heat vision flying everywhere or worse giving Johnathan a super spanking.

I love that they are a superhero/human family dealing with a mixture of superhero/human problems. I get the feeling Jonathan feels left out due to his not developing powers while his brother is the one who did. I do kind of hope he does get them for real in season 3.

Even though Jonathan's actions were wrong, I sympathize with him since he feels useless and just wants to to fit in (not having powers like Jordan and Clark). Even back in Season 1, when he wanted to feel useful by helping Henry Irons in the lab, he (Irons) just got annoyed at Jonathan and told him - "Stop wasting my time!". Poor Jonathan got treated like DeeDee from Dexter's lab. "DeeDee! Get out of my laboratory!", lol.

If children wants personal space to do things like that then I will be super pissed. Children need parents more after 18. This is the age when people starts making more mistakes. 23 is the age when children should leave the house of parents. Western culture needs to understand this.
Not really it varies from child to child some are more responsible then others what happened in this scene isn’t as common as shows like to show it as and 23 is or at least in America kids are already adults and probably going to college far way And kids need personal space to be themselves not constantly being supervised yes some might need more parental supervision but not all of them do and doing that just makes kids sheltered and unable to function probably as adults

Children are the farthest thing from a 'one size fits all' type of parenting. Some are mature enough to leave at 18, some aren't mature enough to leave until 21 or older. 18 is not grown up age, if you really believe that then you must not have teenage children. Teenagers don't magically become adults at 18. Every person over the age of 35 agrees that 18 year olds are still babies compared to adults and are rarely if ever really mature enough to make decisions for themselves.
