@@ajl2232 the greens didn’t even know that Ethiopia existed “Aithiopian” however was often used to describe Egyptians, Africans and even middle easterners
That's... kind of a better ending in terms of how one feels afterwards. Firstly, it sets up things for a sequel that could never happen except in fanfiction: where the humans are lead by Perseus to be equal to the gods, with Perseus set up (accidentally along the way) as the God of Humanity, ultimately, representing their interests and forcing the gods to have their own humility.
In terms of Perseus and Andromeda, I like this ending much better. According to Greek mythology, they do end up together...and Io was actually Perseus's great-great-great grandmother!
The vastly superior ending. This could have set up a really grand sequel, facing off against the Gods anyone? Instead he becomes a daddy's boy and COMPLETELY forgets about the fact that Hades straight up killed his family.
Well! Because she saw the winged horse for the first time, when Perseus fought against Kraken. So, this is her 2nd. And anyway she saw Kraken and Hades; so, why should she be surprised seeing a Winged horse? By the way, I know your comment is a joke. :)
This is such a better ending and it fits with the second movie that was called "The Wrath of the Titans". When Perseus fought and knocked out the cyclops it seemed like he finally started to understand how much more in common men and the gods had with each other, and then at the ending when Zeus died Hade's said that all of his power is spent Perseus finally started to realize how much more in common Gods had with men than he ever thought possible making the 2nd movie my favorite...
I prefer this ending. I have a feeling this was the original ending but test audiences wanted a "heppier" one. That is usually the reason why dead love interests get poofed back to life wether it makes sense or not.
Well tbh Zeus has the capability to do so, but also even if there was this alternate ending instead there is not enough screen time whatsoever to even have them have a romantic interest in each other. How the movie originally ends is so much better. The girl that is resurrected and him actually had screen time and development to become interested one each other. If you remember the Percy Jackson movies, Zeus’s daughter is almost killed when he decides to save her life by turning her into a tree. So, in this movie it’s definitely possible to bring back someone to life especially if they’re a god or apart of that life
I finally watched this for the first time. And I did like it but I don't understand why Hollywood had to mess it up on the pairings. First off lo was zeus's human lover. And Perseus married Andromeda and had 7 sons and 2 daughters. And his mom was still alive when he was found as a child but all and all it was good
They should have left the ending as the same as the original movie, or at least followed the storyline closer. Having Perseus get with Io was just odd.
That was Luke Evans and get this Universal was going to have Sam Worthington play Dracula and yet they gave it to Luke Evans. Speaking of Luke Evans and Universal, I hope that Universal gets The Dark Universe together and have Luke Evans as a part of it since Evans wants his Dracula from Dracula Untold to be part of The Dark Universe.
I think this would've been a much better ending. It's just that they actually built upon the relationship between Perseus and Io, Perseus barely even came face to face with Andromeda. And when Io was killed she probably would've wanted to stay dead, being alive for so long.
The confrontation with Zeus yes, it ought to have been kept. The making out with Andromeda, no. I realize he ended up with Andromeda in the myth, but the way the movie's story is developed it would simply make no sense for him to suddenly abandon his chemistry with Io and fall in love with Andromeda. Anyway, I liked Io, even if she wasn't in the original story. I actually found her the most likeable character in the film (far more so than Perseus, who was terribly miscast and badly written).
danielsan7876 i am not 100 percent certain but I don’t think they could get this actress to come back to play Andromeda so they got the best they could find for Wrath of the Titans.
This is actually the ending according to Greek mythology. The ending shown in the film where perseus end with Lo is a mess up and no account in Greek mythodology that they( Lo and Perseus) end up together.
I was so hoping Perseus would fall in love with Lo. I would have been so much happier! But was done in done. But I was hoping he would fall in love with her! But those two do make a good couple!
In both movies there is a really epic huge thingy at the end but it basically gets killed by perseus and his pegasus so fast that it cant do much damage.
@RovertLladnar They could have Apollo mention Perseus since in the deleted scenes + director's cut he was the one helping Perseus instead of Zeus. Also in the directing the Kraken scene you hear him yell out to Zeus, "Look what you have allowed!" which would've given him more of a pretense to stand up to Hades and at the same time keep it would keep the original confrontation between Perseus and Hades later.
Did anyone else know, that when Sam Worthington auditioned for Avatar, he was living in his car Now look at him 2 years after that movie came out, one of the biggest stars in the world :D
@Observation I mean that, in the original film, he was in love with Andromeda and went on this quest to save her life. This is an alternate ending from an alternate version of the movie. They re-shot the movie to make Io his love interest and cut out the Andromeda/Perseus story, which is why she only meets him briefly in the final film. It actually would make the story more dramatic if he was going on a quest to save the love of his life.
@NeecHMonkeY Its because this ending is apart of the first cut that was filmed where Perseus and Andromeda DID have a relationship. If you'll notice Zeus being the bad guy in this ending makes as little sense since he was helping Perseus in the movie. Its like they shot two different movies. This ending goes with the deleted scenes we got on the blu-ray.
The sequel is called "Wrath of the Titans" Ares teams up with Hades to unleash the Titans on Earth and kidnap Zeus. Then Perseus has to rescue him, along with a few others, also Hephaestus (Bill Nighy) aids him. I was hoping Ares would be the bad guy that planned to unleash the Titans and Hades would instead help Perseus since he is actually good and not bad in mythology. That's sad =\ but oh well I can't wait!
Ohmygod,...I'm so glad they didn't make this the actual ending. It would've made me hate the movie. I prefer the ending where Perseus just saves the damn princess, makes peace with his father (if that's the way to describe it...), and reunites with Io. I wish they made a better ending for the sequel though. =-=; I hated the ending, like seriously, he kissed that blonde bitch in the end for what reason? Where's the damn romance development between those two? The development between him and Io was much more obvious >_>; -I hate how they just killed her off with not explanation on her death in the beginning, ridiculous.-
Well, in the myths Perseus marries Andromeda after defeating the "kraken". I guess in the sequel the producers tried to fix that by making Perseus falling in love with Andromeda, but was too late. One of the most important fails this movie had, was to not respect the myths. Black Pegasus? Io and Perseus? Danae killed by her busband? Hades vs Zeus? By the way, the sequel was worse than this
I can really understand how cringe worthy a movie is based on mythology when it changes things up, but bad enough to make it look like they're making fun of the myths. Tbh, I only liked the movie for the effects, music, and well, ofc the fighting scenes. I can tolerate a movie this horrible if one of those are decent enough. Yes, the sequel was worse, I think I may have said I liked it better, but I was speaking out of how much I enjoyed the fighting scenes, and pretty much Liam Neeson's acting as Zeus. This movie would've been better if they didn't try to change so much like the "Immortals" movie..(I "lol"ed at Apollo's actor playing as Zeus). The Titans aren't even "Titans" (they're called that for one of the reasons bc they're huge af), the look more like the Frost Giants in the Thor movie. And Hyperion's human? I can't...Well, at least Henry Cavil did a good job playing Theseus, in my opinion. By the way, I know I'm typing so much and probably went off topic a bit, who's Danae? I haven't watched that movie in forever.
i kinda like the part where he confronted zeus reminding him who his true family was. the final cut seemed to forget the fact that his mortal family existed. but other than that, he shouldve ended up with both women, and then they should continue with a sequel =P
@HistoryLover1550 Actually it's not confirmed that Perseus' son is Io's.I think he's adopted and at any rate Io isn't going to have a big role in the sequel.Gemma is busy with Hansel and Gretel right now so most likely it will be Perseus and Andromeda:)
This is how it would've ended if they hadn't scrapped the original script which imo would've been a whole lot better than the final draft we saw in theaters. Hopefully a director's cut is released later putting all the deleted scenes and this ending together.
I totally see why they decided not to keep this in the film. Perseus/Io made much more sense and I suppose it was kinda more likely for them to end up together. Of course, there's the myth - the original story, where it's Perseus/Andromeda. But frankly - I think the chemistry between Sam and Gemma was way better. ^^
@LyricalXilence I somewhat agree. If this ending took place, but the rest of the movie was the same, then the Andromeda kiss would've been random. For this ending, they would've had to change the scenes with him and her in the beginning as well as the scene with Perseus and Io on the fairy to the underworld and her death by Calibos.
@HistoryLover1550 All the trouble Perseus went through to save Andromeda, risking his life for her in the new movie and he does'nt even end up with her at the end.
They should've kept this movie along with the deleted scenes. It made more sense in saving the princess because he was in love with her, and not just some random mission. And his argument with his father made a lot more sense.
@retbookers Yeah they were dissing Hades big time and in mythology he wasn't that unhappy down there as, being of the underworld, he had control over all material wealth and precious metals. Plus he has Persephone to keep him happy too! Hera's not mentioned in COTT either, she organised a coup against Zeus, that would be cool to see used.
@RovertLladnar I think they would show him disappear since as you pointed out he would need reason to pursue Perseus and if Apollo were to mention him instead of Zeus then consistency wouldn't be sacrificed and Perseus would still throw the sword at him.
whats the name of the music when hes about to leave andromeada it sounds sad but amazing and the one where you see olympus in the distance please someone tell me give me link or something thank you
@chrisoates1001 In the description for "Wrath of the Titans" it says that Perseus is the only parent to his 10 year old son so I'm assuming Io either died or was killed...apparently him and Andromeda are supposed to fall in love
@trollsarevirgins I'm aware of that and you're right. But there were some things they placed in that just weren't right.Take Io's presence as a perfect example:She went from being Zeus' mistress who was turned into a cow and later became queen of Egypt to some stalker lady who served as the protector/guider of Perseus that Athena was supposed to be.It just didn't make sense.
@LightSpirit06 Word. Hades has always been one of the less-douchy of the gods in Greek myths. He only got angry when someone was reviving the dead (messing with him) and when Theseus and his buddy tried to 'steal' Persephone (and even told him about it). Even then, he let Theseus free after a while. In the original Perseus legend, HE is one of the gods who help him LOL.
*hhhHhhh... gLad this "weak-sauce" ending was deLeted*... *thank God for the wisdom of scenes-editors & just movie director to create the Best Movie with Perfect DiaLogue & ProLogue ever !!!*
Nice tracking markers on the horse. I was wondering how they went about doing the wings. I figured it was markers. Definitely a weird ending though....
@MercedesBMW84 (continued) " I don't work on the sequel. I can not give details on this topic. Just I do not act in the movie". Gemma said she wasn't but if you've got a recent article link that says otherwise please send it.
please. the official ending is very good. doesnt matter if he stay with io or andromeda, and io stay with him in all movie, give support. and if he doesnt want some relation with the gods, never could go to the olympus and give the sword
@MercedesBMW84 25 years old british actress Gemma Arterton gave up her role in the sequel "Wrath of the Titans". She was supposed to be on set with Liam Neeson, Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy and Rosamund Pike, avoiding to give a plausible explanation about her leaving and settling she declare that she will not appear in project production of company Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros.
@DefineDelicate 'but Andromada isn't just there. she's willing to give her life for the better good.' Well said.I hate how some of these people act like the only way a character can be strong or important is if they fight. Bull;/
i think this does fit better with the sequel only for the fact that Gemma did not return to the series and Perseus is more in love with the princess/queen Andromeda.
The Gods in general, however, were feared, but more precisely respected. "Hybris" is the absolute sin, when one disrespects the gods, and then he can be punished very severely.
@orlandobabe Actually in the original cut of this film there were scenes of Perseus and Andromeda falling in love but because they wanted to convert the film to 3D they cut out all those scenes to save time and made him attracted to Io instead.Although I doubt they actually knew that the two were related.I get the feeling these filmmakers didn't do much research...
