Classic Dirt Bikes "1980 PE 175 Enduro Suzuki" 

I had the same year bike, but I had the PE 250. I was 20 years old at the time and I got it brand new for $1,299. It was a great little bike and it ran pretty good against my 2 friends who had a 1980 Yamaha IT400 and a 1980 Kawasaki KDX400. I could hang with them until they hit 5 gear, then they pulled away from me. But on the trails I could run the same times and keep up with the 400's.

Hi everyone. I raced Enduro in Illinois with a new 1979 PE 175 at that time. Just as good as KTM, Husky, IT Yamhas. Fast. Light weight. I should have kept it! Thanks for the informative and memories

These bikes were the best of the 175s. Suzuki got it right, geometry, ergos, and type of power. And dead reliable. I rode big bore Yamahas at the time and liked the power. A friend of mine had one of these that I rode and I believe I could have gone as well as my 400 in the woods. Except big hills.

The '78 RM125 had great all around power, unusual for a small bike, and they were fast! The first PE175 was basically the same, improved for woods riding, learned all this too late and still want to find one. Thanks for the excellent vid.

Had this when I was 17. It was road legal so used it to commute to work as well as trail riding. Also had the PE400 at some point in my youth also road legal. The scariest one I owned was the IT400 though

OMG I lusted for one of these in 1982 when I was 16 , the full floater suspension had just been introduced . I ended up buying a 1982 Honda XR 200 instead but always wanted this one 👍🏼

You know what makes me give the higgest respect to Euro Vintage Guys? They build beautiful machines AND they ride them as they were built for.

I remember riding a friend of mines new PE 175 way back when, it pulled nicely with a smooth front tire lift when you twisted the throttle in 2nd gear.

In Australia they where registrable with plastic tanks as PE 175,250 or 400 good bikes

Thanks Chris, a friend of mine had one of these awesome little bikes and i had an 81 it 250, we would swap bikes for a week at a time and as ethics3 says, they work amazingly well in tight woods, 1st gear is worthy of a trials machine but they were lacking in power at the top end for road work. You can't have everything unless you ride a gs Maico lol! stay safe. Pat. n. yorks.

Our PEs weren't road legal here in the US. And the gas tanks were plastic. I really really want one for vintage racing
