I am an American who was living in Ireland in 2007. I watched this match in a tiny Irish village you could barely find on a map. I’ve never seen such excitement in my life. A night I will never forget!
Piss-poor highlights. Brian Moore at the start: "it will be really interesting to see show the kickoff is received and dealt with". Producer: "fuck that, here's a load of replays of kicks at goal".
Oh nostalgia ! I still have shivers, and tears in my eyes, when I watch the highlights of this match. A legendary match in many ways : The Irish Team smashed England, in Dublin, in the Temple of the Gaelic Sports, 87 years after the 1920 Bloody Sunday ! There was only one team on the pitch ! A beautiful and outstanding performance ! A magnificent revenge against this eternal ennemy and former invader ! Moving thoughts for the 14 victims and especially Michael Hogan ! This macth will stay in my mind and in my heart till the end ! I'm not Irish but I've been a French Fan for more than 20 years ; throughout this special day, I was Irish with my green jersey ! Erin Go Bragh !
I was actually there that day and it was a day to be remembered!?! It was the first time god save the queen was played in croke park and what made it so amazing is that we beat them!?! And there was no sectarian stuff going on!?!
Darragh, they could have played Beethoven's 9th, but the result would have been the same. All of those Ireland players will never have a more satsifying memory to look back on. That victory had, still has, historic proportions. Never to be forgotten heroes delivered a very special victory for Ireland over the English that day..... only a ceremony to celebrate the unequivocal return of the six counties to tehir rightful owners will match this day of destiny.
@@JohnDouille well their missing out on so much money then which could be invested back in to gaa and build bigger stadiums let political reasons get in the way
