@@Pradical its not that he wasnt ready for NY. Its that he wasnt ready to be the main guy on the lineup. He wanted to go to the Yankees or Astros because both teams had tons of star players, so he wasnt going to be looked at as the main guy. And with the Yankees, he wasnt going to be the highest paid player on the team either. I mean, seriously, for Beltran, to come to the Mets, their highest paid guy ever at the time, and not wanting to be seen as the guy. Well they have had two Championships. I feel they get that rep because they are compared to the Yankees. They didn't destroy Piazza's career. Also have two World series appearances in 20 years. Just need to win one again soon.
