Actually its good that they aren't here anymore. Abit was widely known for their cheap components on their products. It was so bad, that they had to officially announce that they did use poor quality capacitors and offer free of charge repair/replacement. Free repair and replacement does not make them trustworthy to begin with and so they died, like dfi, chaintech, bfg and many more shady pcb makers. Think about it, if such company like abit would still be around, how much could the current "cream of the crop" makers get away with? Its good that the mostly bad ones got weeded out an we are left with the acceptable ones.

Seeing an Abit board come back to life after some TLC, really has me waxing nostalgic of my NV7-133R. Was it a particularly fast board? no. But after the near trauma of the 8KHA I tried to start my own built system with, how trouble free it was was a breath of much needed fresh air, and gave me the bravery to continue building my own pc's since.

Thank you for your videos. I want to get good at repairing motherboards as I saved several dozen from going to the dump. Almost all of them have at least one bad capicitor or some other problem. A couple of them have literally every capacitor bulging. There's a couple that appear fine but won't POST.

You can still find bad capacitors in modern PC parts. Be Quiet! still uses faulty Teapo and Capxon caps in their basic PSUs. I also found bad caps in Logitech audio system.

i have some pentium 4 motherboard and the northbridge ran hot af, but then i flashed the bios to similar mobo that was SE and then it ran cool after that, this is my retro mobo and this is his story.

i love those zalman coolers, they don´t make those anymore, i used one so many years that the support to the copper broke, made of transparent plastic. I need to find a way to fix it else the cooler can just fly out of the hole

Abit definitely deserved to survive (well 3dfx too :)) Not sure if DFI exists, but they were cool too, and I wish they survived. But to be honest, I would be glad to have Soyo, AOpen and Chaintech too.

Компания Abit хорошие материнки выпускала. Но её не стало. Я На 775 сокете на abit всю жизнь просидел. Здесь AGP шина, не вижу смысла такие платы подымать. Думаю, она даже в интернете будет сильно напрягаться.
