This is our second year homeschooling and second year with CC. This video helped me SO much!!!! THANK YOU! I can't believe I hadn't even heard of The Sandbox. That is some GOLD right there. Looking into it also lead me to discover that CC Connected has a magazine for Essentials as well!!!!! So excited for all this planning and organization to be done for me.

I realize this is an old comment, but that’s where I am now. We’re 1st year in CC for first grade, and I don’t have a clue how this works or what I’m doing - a little panic is setting in. Our daughter is very bright and flew through K homeschool (different curriculum), but the more I go through these materials, it seems like it will take 8 hours minimum to get through a single day! May I ask how it’s working for you, if by chance you see this post?

We aren't doing CC as we are in the UK and I don't think we have the comparable here but we follow the classical home schooling method so the vast amount of relevant books for us here is amazing!! So helpful! This is our second time thru cycle 1 but last time I didn't have many other resources. A fellow CC tutor suggested to get the guidebook copied into individual cycles. So I only have to carry cycle 1 with me, not the entire book. I did tab my little copied cycle 1 booklet too which helps. I don't know how you'd have time but I'd love to hear about your tutor prep! I'm tutoring again this year and really streamlining my tutoring plans. Thank you again Dina, I always love seeing your thoughtful resources.

Hello, I’m sorry if you’ve addressed this before. I’m new to your channel. Do you have a video that addresses what CC is? And about how long y’all homeschool in one day/ week? We used the good and the beautiful for kindergarten last year and I found it was a bit intense and didn’t allow time for much else. I’d love to add the subjects you mention but like I said we spent most of our time on TGTB language and struggled through it. Changing to master books for language this year and seeing how that goes so maybe I can introduce more history etc next semester or in a few weeks…. Sorry super lengthy. Thanks for sharing!

If you are tentative about doing CC for the long haul, wait on the supplemental cards. If you are fully committed to going all the way with CC, do it! The earlier the better. Work it into that morning time. Start with littles saying the names and one thing they are remembered for. Go into more detail each iteration from there. We have used them as Faces of History sources in Essentials.

Remember adults can proof for Memory Master, too! I was going to do it in 2018 my last year in Foundations, but I had to have surgery and could not make those deadlines!

Do you recommend for a kindergartener to follow the curriculum for the foundations book with the MOH books and the SOTW books? or just follow the reading list for K-3 on the Cycle one planning? I bought the beautiful feet books Around the world Part I and Early American History, third edition curriculum, but I saw your cycle 3 video and it will probably be best to use those books in cycle 3. I bought them when I wasn't sure about doing foundations but change my mind and I will be doing the foundations book. I also have the Old World Echos for Cycle 1. What do you recommend?

Hi! I'm sorry! I don't know if I completely understand you're question... But for kindergarten I like to keep it nice and easy. So we mostly do the memory work and reading books that so along with the memory. That's pretty much it.... Especially if your kindergartener is your oldest. Please let me know if that wasn't your question. 😬❤️

1 - this is my first year of homeschooling and I've so enjoyed watching your videos. I haven't gotten through them all yet but I have watched ALOT. 2 - are all the books you have in this video on the book lists in that planner from halfahundredacrewood? I've already watched the video and can go through it again and write them down but if they're already in that list then I won't bother.

Hi! You definitely need the Foundations Guide (5th edition). That is really all you need. I've found the Timeline cards helpful too and Science cards, but they are options. The Foundations Guide is all you need to start. 😁
