There's great satisfaction in proving the world wrong. I told my ex-girlfriend four years ago I was going to write a book, she said "no way." I've now written three (published and on Amazon) and she has been replaced.
@@vboch1 I’m on vacation in about a week. Let myself gain weights during the winter when I had bicep surgery. Now down 20lbs and 32 jeans are big. Hoping to bring the 6 pack out in the next week as I’m close. It is diet, weights, and cardio almost every day and making sure my hormones are correct.
Clay I’m 44 year old white father of two. I can bench 405. Years ago it was 455 for 5 sets of 5, but a few surgeries later it is 405 for one probably 300 for 10. I’ve been lifting for 25 years. Your 185 for 10 is impressive for an old man like myself. That is about what my 16 year old lifts on bench. He probably can only do it 7-8 reps now. He was benching 255 at 14, but had a bad mower accident that tore up his left shoulder and knee. He is now getting some of his strength back now
54 here- was on my way to thr 1000 pound club 5 years ago but tore my rotator cuff. Actually was depressed by it. But now I’m back up to 225 on the bench. Squats are still good - deadlift way under where I was but still feels good to get somewhat back. Probably will never be where I was but still feeling good, especially when my boys spot me.
👏 Impressive! Haters gonna hate. It’s disturbing, but believable that only 2% of Men can BP their body weight. 18 YO males today have 50% less testosterone than their father’s did at 18. That’s ALARMING!Inactivity and poor diet are the biggest contributors. Unless this changes, we’re F’d. At 55, I set aside 90 minutes every morning to focus on my health(strength training, low impact cardio, and recovery through breathing exercises, cold plunge, and the sun for vitamin D3). Every able bodied man can find 90 minutes a few days a week to improve their overall health
I cannot bench my weight. I have a weird condition where I cannot grow any pectoral muscle on my right side. It's just skin and bone. It makes push-ups tougher too.
Clay, any chance you start making your gambling picks a separate video? In my opinion gambling talk is the absolute worst. I would rather listen to people talk about their golf game or fantasy teams over gambling talk.
Fourteen years ago, at the age of 59, when I was still going to the gym, I benched my weight 15 times, making me as strong as the average NFL player. IOW, I was more qualified for the NFL than Colin Kaepernick now is.
I not a big bencher nor weight-lifter. I had to scrimp and scrap for the strength i have.😢☠️😢dakich always talking about whipping somebody's butt we need to get him on the bench.
I completely tore my right pectoral off the bone and had surgery 4 months ago and I had rotator cuff surgery for a completely torn Supraspinatus muscle, partial tear of the infraspinatus muscle and damge to the AC joint and other parts so I had surgery on that 5 weeks ago. Im up to 17.5 pounds single arm dunble press. I dont think thats my own bodyweight 😂
Nope. You only get sore as crap when you lift heavy or even moderately for the first time or when returning to lifting from several weeks off or more. Especially from squats.
If you are a healthy male between the ages of 17 and 50 and you cant bench press your weight 10xs you need to re-evaluate your live decisions and lifestyle ...lets get it together boys
My 16 yr old can bench 245 10 reps he's 180 with a torn ACL we are rehabbing 2nd ACL left leg 1st now rt has his senior year to come back for scholarship offer if the Lord wills it
You say your nanny takes your kids to events like practice. I thought you said your proud parent but you can't take your kids to practice. Do you miss their games also?
Benching your weight is super easy. The real challenge is can you bench double your body weight? In my younger days I tried really hard to get there but came up just barely short, the last 5-10% seemed impossible.
To bench double your body weight you're in NFL combine type shape and spend hours per week in the gym lifting. That is not something you can do without working a while at it. Clay benching 370 is absurd.
@@jorgy1470 Clay is on here saying only 1in 1000 men can bench press 185 lbs 10 x, I am 48 years old, kinda fat, kinda short, drink too much, work a desk job. Lift only casually and I can bench 285 lbs 10 x ... so either Clay's numbers are off ... or I am a super hero. I am leaning towards Clay's numbers being off ...
