You probably already did the job, but hopefully you did the throttle body too. It helps access the EGR. I have a 2013 TDI Jetta and the 2 are in each other on the front. Much better access than this shit.
That is just cheating... it's obvious that the piece was stuck on with soot and you just skipped tnat part... it's the whole reason i'm looking up these videos!
AMIGO LA EGR NO SE LAVA CON EL CONECTOR ASIA AVAJO, YA QUE EL SOLVENTE CAE O SE METE AL INTERIOR ASIA EL SENSOR Y LO DAÑAS , LA EGR SE LAVA CON EL CONECTOR ASIA ASIA ARRIBA PARA QUE EL LÍQUIDO CAIGA ,NO SE META !
I know this video is four years old now, but everyone should know that the torx bits to remove the EGR valve are, indeed, T-30. There's another video on RU-vid showing the same thing, but the guy says they're T-27. DO. NOT. USE. A. T-27. BIT If you do, there's a good chance you'll strip the torx, and you'll be in a world of hurt if you do. Ask me how I know. 😂😂😭
Ive got a 2015 Diesel Cruze that will crank over forever but doesnt even attempt to start. Other than the possible fuse box positive being loose, the turbo having issues, or this EGR valve being stuck.... What other things should I look at? Multiple good batteries were tried.
@@szymon4689 turned out to be a glow plug that melted, probably from being sprayed with diesel, bad injector. Melted the tip and it went for a ride around in the engine. So it was a dead cylinder. Sold it and the next guy updated me on the situation.
@@szymon4689 yeah, they are really famously bad cars. The only reason I messed with it was it was free. They have tons of issues as they run stupidly dirty thanks to all of the emissions and EGR junk on them. If you can sell it when it's running alright you'd do yourself a favor to get into something a lot more reliable.
HOLA AMIGO , PODRÍAS MOSTRAR POR QUE LADO DEL MOTOR ESTA ESA EGR CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 , PORQUE YO LA E BUSCADO POR ARRIBA DEL MOTOR Y NO LA ENCUENTRO POR NINGUNA LADOOOOO!!!! Gracias CHEFLUIS DESDE CHILE.
Teece Clint my 2018 (different engine) diesel Cruze boga down and hesitates when I first take off and then clears right up. I’m wondering if it’s my egr valve
My egr puts out a terrible noxious smell at all times, especially when driving at low speeds. I assume there in a leak somewhere in the egr cooler. The dealership has just giving me a runaround with no permanent fix. I'm about to notify the EPA and hopefully that will get their attention. Not trying to be a dick but this exhaust is choking.
Hi Ben, I had a similar problem twice after dealer repairs. Tech did not seal turbo to exhaust properly causing small leak of exhaust in engine bay. My heater and a/c sucked up exhaust and blew into car. Took dealer two times to fix it by replacing all gaskets and remounting turbo and exhaust. No problems since.
@@supporterofeverythingyouli6255it's been my experience that most of the service departments weren't even aware they put a diesel engine in the Cruze. 🤦♂️
@@medicineman360 What I went through with Chevrolet was insane, they could not find out or figure out where to service my 15 2.0 diesel Cruze timing belt. After 3 year's gave up sold it and got a Tesla 3 and I'm not looking back.
I have 2 Diesel Cruzes, cleaned one for preventative, no issues and at 110k miles. 2nd had CEL, cleaned it and light didn’t go off. I then deleted DEF and EGR with OZ tune and CEL went off with no other problems.
Hi Charley. EGR Delete is easy to do but the tune that is needed after the delete is expensive. Without programming the CPU, the check engine light will remain on.
Carter Anderson I wasn’t knocking you. Just pointing out for others who plan on attempting this. I watched it so I can be ready If I ever have to do this. Just bought a 2014 CPO with 49000 love it so far and the fact it was well taken care of shows through but you never know what may pop up. Thanks for the video👍🏼
Once deleted the valve stays in closed position and no need to clean. Make sure you have disconnected the electric wire so CPU doesn’t get a false reading.
If the job is not too complex, do it once a year. Less scraping. We have a 2018 VW ATLAS VR6. The throttle is so easy to take off, I do it once a year. 30 minutes in total.
The engine is made by Opel and is found in their Astra J models. I think the Euro cruze is J300, and that *might* be the Orlando. If so, yes, the process is exactly the same.
