I found this video because I was searching for regular, inexpensive pantry items that can do what Fry Away does...but this is even better. Thanks for making the longer video with proof. 👏🏿

He's right, this is the easiest and fastest method and I've tried them all. Couple things to mention... I wouldn't recommend composting the waste/sludge, just toss it in your garbage. Also, your new "cleaned" oil may or may not look cloudy afterwards (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, I don't really know why), but once you let it cool and then reheat it, it will clear again.

I can't wait to try this hack! 🔥 Speaking of kitchen tips, Honey Lavender Magic is my go-to for minor burns. A handy home remedy that I always keep on hand! 💜

Wil it fry the same even with the water added?
@CookWithLeo

It will because the water gets absorbed by the corn starch.

Will the Oil not Splutter when the oil gets heated ?
@CookWithLeo

No. It won’t sputter. You’ll the water and corn starch will combine and will become thick

How much water and cornstarch should I use for a gallon of cooking oil? Should the oil be less than 300°F when treating it with the cornstarch and water mixture?

@@esdott1039 it's 1/4 cup of water and 1 TBSP of cornstarch per 1 cup of oil...... so 4 cups of water and 16 TBSP's of cornstarch to 1 gallon of oil.... knucklehead..... these things are all over the internet if you bother to look instead of trying to insult people.

how many % loss? similar to decanting?
@CookWithLeo
@CookWithLeo Год назад
I’m not certain of the percentage of oil lost. Any oil lost hasn’t been enough for me to notice it or be concerned. Most of what I strain out are the cornstarch/water mixture and whatever bits were collected. I’m using 1/4 cup water and 1 tbs of cornstarch per 1 cup of oil.

I believe what's happening is that you are also removing the free fatty acids from the oil to the water

The only way this method works is if you do this after every use of fresh oil only three times maximum I was under the impression that you could clean a gallon of oil with this method 4 tablespoons of starch and one cup of water I was sadly mistaken and wasted my time but I’m not saying that you are lying just saying that this doesn’t work for oil that has been used more than three times

Why do you feel the need to play music? It just makes it harder to understand what you are saying. Also, the music is extremely monotonous
