Cleaning your 1911 pistol is an important part of making sure it stays a reliable firearm. The Tisas 1911 pistol is a very durable firearm but as with any 1911, it requires a little maintenance and lubrication.

25:00 - 26:00 Another important note is that, with these Tisas models, sliding the disassembly pin back in works much easier if you hold the gun *upside right not upside down.* I had a co-worker, a 22 year old who had just purchased his first gun, who was trying to clean his gun. And when he was trying to put it back together, he was having trouble sliding the disassembly pin back in. He told me about it at work, so I stopped over at his place afterwards to see what he was doing wrong. Turns out, he was holding the gun upside down the entire time, and this causes alignment issues with that little loop. So although it was shown, but not mentioned, in the video; I figured I would try to mention it here to help out any first timers who are struggling.

In my time in the service(1968-1971), the 1911’s were so loose they rattled when you shook them. I was a tank mechanic and that was my issued side arm along with the .45 cal. Grease gun. Loved the .45.

I remember. That's why I hated 1911s for years. The 1911s that I Qualified on in 1972 in Basic Training had been Manufactured during WW II, so they were 30 years old & had been used heavily for 30 years

Got News for Ya guys. Those M1911A1's you were issued were loosely toleranced by mechanical design to allow them to function in less than ideal conditions. Delta Force is the Only unit to use National Match fitted guns and if you watched a Larry Vickers video here. You'd know they didn't fare well in the boonies or desert. The 5th Special Forces Group was outfitted with lots of Stored Remington Rand M1911A1's during the War on Terror..all pistols made by 1944 at the latest. The 1911's only Real shortcoming was lack of Real Training with it...a problem since it was first adopted I might add.

The government 1911s and Beretta 92 rattle as they become well used. But they are designed for hard use and are able to run dirty.

I just got done cleaning mine for the 1st time, I really like this gun! I wanted a SS 1911 for quite some time now, and came across this one. Fits my hand well. Very classy looking. It did failure to feed twice in the first 100 rds. I hope it’s just a breaki-n issue. Trigger feels a bit heavy for a 1911, but I don’t have a trigger gauge. Very stiff to rack the slide with the hammer down.

First thing...Excellent video and cleaning Tips. I applaud the effort that multitudes of 1st time 1911 owners need to see and follow. The Bad.. on at least 3 occasions you referred to the Extractor as the Ejector. The Extractor that you referenced cleaning is Essential for reliable function...it is also easily removed to clean it. The Firing Pin and Firing Pin channel. The Boogie Man doesn't live in that process. The Ejector is Staked to the Frame on the Left Side and should be Inspected for fitment to the frame and its structural integrity. Keep up the good work Sir.

I own a regent R350cr made by Tisas but imported by Umarex. It's a nice little commander size gun nut lord help you if you have a problem with the gun. When I bought the gun new the back to post of the tube hadn't been staked. I tried for weeks to contact costumer support and never got a reply. I ended up just fixing it myself. Other than that the gun has ran perfectly with any ammo I feed it. I shot more rounds then I could count out of it and the only signs of use is some holster wear on the slide. The finish on the slide kind of looks like paint rather the a real coating.

But now I have a more specific question about the 1911 magazine release being to hard to press, do I have to change the mag catch spring to solve this issue?
@BoomStickTactical
@BoomStickTactical Год назад
Do not change the mag release. It will loosen up over time. It is intended to be a bit stiff to help keep the magazine from falling out easily. The last thing you want to happen in a self defense situation is to have your magazine fall out and be standing in front of an attacker with a single shot.

I don't think there has ever been a firearm (even a highpoint) crack a frame from not cleaning grip panels. Yes you should clean under them occasionally. Corrosion can happen. With comments like that everything you say is suspect.

I've seen them myself. It can easily ruin a gun.

I understand that you shortened the thumbnail naming of this but you should actually just put the full name because if people want to look this video up this is kind of just a weird way to put it I would just put the actual name of the weapon hello

If you need a tutorial on how to take down and clean a 1911, you should not be anywhere near firearms.

There is not one person on the face of this planet who automatically knows how to disassemble and clean a 1911 sight unseen. Everyone must learn from somewhere.

@@BoomStickTactical not true. My first time I was 14 so about 1988. Wasn't hard to figure out. The ruger mkii was much harder to figure out.
