Great vid Steve, love how you always talk about different scenarios for the same shot and really break it down. I finally got my first colours clearance recently so hoping to do it again soon with your help!

Brilliant video, a very important part of the game most do not practice enough, given me a few extra things to try, can win more matches than not but being able to clear the colours, very informative, waiting for the next 2 already, great advice again

I've been practicing the colours today, just the right series to make me go further than till the pink which is my best result so far ;) Very good idea to show the recovery shots. I knew the perfect way to clear from previous videos, but this shows a lot of my actual positions as I seldom get to the perfect result.

Excellent. I practiced colours yesterday after years of not playing. I missed the black but was still chuffed !! Good video thank you

This is a particularly informative bit. The physics of killing the cue ball speed by hitting just below center, even though its not a drag shot, screw shot, or stun shot, is a confusing concept to me. I'd love to see an entire segment dedicated to this concept. An example of this is when a safety is played when the cue ball is a long distance from the object ball, yet you are able to keep the cue ball from travelling after contact, and at the same time sending the object ball to the opposite end of the table without overhitting the object ball so much that it returns back up to its original end of the table.

Great job barton. Would you please make a video controlling cue ball around black spot specially the black cushion.

Could you make a video how to improve lining and follow through when cueball is very close to the object ball? Great video as always!

I have to say I think your videos are awesome Steve, and if I were in the UK, I would probably drop by for a few sessions. However, What I'd really like to see, and I am sure would add even more depth and benefit to the video courses, would be some tactical hints and tips. Something I particularly try to practice is limiting shot opportunities for an opponent should I miss my intended shot. A great example I saw last night at the NI open was Robertson, taking a difficult free ball and snookering on the final reds should it have been missed - Limiting your opponent's chances in the event of a badly played pot can be worthy of many points in a frame. Something to consider? I'd certainly like to learn more from more experienced players.

Hello Steve, is it always a must to have your right foot on the line of aim or are there exceptions? For example, for very tall players or for right handed, left eye sighting players to get the head in a better position (I'm both). Thanks, Fabian.

The difference between stunning with fractions of changes on the green resulting in a relatively large difference in where the cueball finishes is interesting - flicking between 8:30 and 8:55 I'm not really feeling the faster cue speed on the 2nd one - sounds about the same if not a bit slower? Would be interesting to see them overlaid :) Also interesting to see what happens if you increase the cue speed further still.

The one thing that you have left out, is how many times it, roughly, took you to get the potting of that yellow right, before you could just do it? Also, I've tried to screw across from green to brown and that is not possible. You barely touch the ball when you screw acrossfrom green to brown, but when I try it, it doesn't work. I've practised for hours, & hours on that yellow to green shot, and I cannot screw down for the brown brown blue either. Was wandering if it is to do with the thickness of the cloth on the table, on which I play?. Potting blue pink and black are easy.

One of the worst areas to end up after potting the yellow ball is somewhere in the yellow-brown area, a palm’s length, with quite an angle on the green. It’s a horrible shot to recover from and get a sensible position on brown, both of the cushion or with a dragshot. Maybe a tip or two on this one, pretty please?

I consider myself a very decent player but damn, brown to blue is the one that often causes problems. If I get plumb on the blue the rest is quite simple.

Missing one important key shot of possible yellow to green especially stun around two cushion for green.

I’d like play a frame where the colours are all on their spots once reds have all been potted. For most club players that never happens. 😂

I feel you! Still a great skill to master as it teaches you so many things required for other positional shots 👍
@ash6415

@BartonSnooker yep, I can do it sometimes just not consistently. I'll have to dream about doing it in an actual frame for now 😆
