Well its time to either retire the car, fix the power steering and rust better, replace the driver, or build Goliath and make everything the way it needs to be. :) Be sure to follow us at www.boosted-ride.com boostedride boosted.ride
Great seeing both you guys ripping. Everyone has to start somewhere, blown methanol big block has been a fast learning curve. Jason, ripping that tip in and looking more confident every time. Ripper skid. Killing it guys🇦🇺🇦🇺
Thanks Tobe! A blown big block is a huge jump vs starting from the bottom 🤣🤣 Jason is getting better and better just need to iron out the bugs or get the new build going 😏
@@BoostedRide If not for that steering failing i think it would have been a killer skid. Personally not sure on those 3rd gens for a skid platform out of the box. Many issues with Toast handling characteristics on the pad in the beginning too.
You guys are killing it, don't get discouraged. You'll get the bugs worked out. It looks like there might be some negative comments, that might be jealousy. 🧐🤔🤫
Nice, the sound of the zoomies is pretty nice, get the man some better power steering so he can keep honing his skills in this beater before stepping up to the new rig. 👍
Jason’s Tip in looked great but unfortunately things went down hill a bit from there but compared to last time he and the car have made major improvements. Out of curiosity did he get lost in the smoke or what when he basically came to a stand still? That said it looks like the car needs power steering (if a belt would ever stay on) or maybe rack and pinion to help with turning the car at slow to no speed. Those cars were hard as hell to steer when stock if the engine stalled or had to push it so the extra axle weight of the big block and blower must make it a real joy to try and turn especially in a burnout box with lots of rubber laid down on it. That said I keep thinking burn out cars would benefit from mounting a second set of calipers on the font wheels that were operated individually by a lever brakes (either two levers or one lever in a push pull configuration) that way if you wanted to spin the car in a tight area you could turn and lock on front wheel to pivot off of. I think the hardest part of that set up would be mounting the second caliper and then remembering let and right brake when doing a skid. O well enough of me jabbering but glad to see Jason’s and his car making improvements and to those that post any negative comments F*ck’em because all they are doing is sitting naked in a bean bag chair eating Cheetos in Mom’s basement being keyboard commandos with one hand and jerking the gherkin with the other. Hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving and remember Illegitimi non carborundum (don’t let the bastards grind you down)
Smoke was the biggest then after it cleared steering was the issue. I know Brent with pfi tried it but I think it's maybe just to much to focus on? Not really sure. Sealing the camaro some really helped! Before it would bellow from the trunk and I didn't see it like that now. We really need more seat time for him to go out and get some runs in. All those keyboard warriors don't bother me. I use it as fuel for the fire! Hope they share with their friends saying watch this dumb shit and keep sending views 😏 As always appreciate the feedback!
I'm thinking that Jason should be driving Phoenix while you either iron out the bugs with the Camaro or build Goliath. The reason for going to Phoenix is because you already know that style of platform works. Other than the lower horsepower, Phoenix is pretty similar to Death Trap. #BoostedRide #DeathTrap #Phoenix #whatevertheCamaroiscalled
The exhaust needs to come out just before the rear wheels so it blows it backwards and away from the cabin, the stacks are cool but they arent helping you guys with vision
That would work well for smoke direction, althought using methanol tyre fires are a high risk, as happened on Deathtrap a while back. Do agree, straight up zoomies might not be helping with vision getting smoked out.
@@tobehunt2573 in fairness thats because they have done multiple skids and never checked bearings or any maintenance on it and just sent it, those motors need a refresh at least twice a year to keep them together
I think you guys need to look at toast n see how ol cleet did his steering ..if you guys can get that under rap Jason is going to be great with the car and a serious competitor
@BoostedRide out side the box looking in trying to help. hate to see you guys dump the car just cuz it won't steer ... let's keep this channel growing 👏 keep with the content 👌 them tip in's are getting sick when you twist the frame time for more support
I'm not sure what the cost would be but would a modern Vette rear end with the transmission direct mounted be a way to transfer some weight to the rear. Even including moving the firewall and engine back. Probably too much work and money but just throwing out ideas.
If you have to run electric power steering in Goliath then you'll have the same problem as the Camaro. You'll still have a ton of weight on the front end with meh steering.
Electric power steering is shit for any sport involving rapid change of direction. It’s been tried over here in speedway and other forms or Motorsport and it just can’t keep up. Ditch it asap. Look at a steering quickener, as used in speedway. Much better option and will work with the stock power steering setup, provided you run bigger lines. But as others have said, those Camaros appear to be junk as skid cars. The f truck steers so much better.
