I'll be playing as a cleric Human today and doing my best to give as much information about this class and race as I can, from ways you can play, strategies and pro tips and tricks. This Barony guide will cover all this and more! Stay tuned if you want to learn more about Barony! Or just watch some chaos unfold!
Barony is one of my favorite games. I do livestreams, guides and explaining everything there is to know about Barony.
I try to explain what my thoughts are and the reasons for my choices in the livestreams to help anybody who wants to learn!
Disclaimer: I might know most of the mechanics and interactions, but there isn't anybody that knows every detail.
Feel free to leave comments if you think I might of missed something (I may have forgotten, maybe I didn't know)
However
During the livestreams please rather ask me why I'm doing A rather than B and I'll explain my choices or adapt if I realize that B is smarter. If you think you can add, by all means I would love to learn. But if you're going to fact dump because of ego. I'm going to simply ignore your messages.

5min in and i found out that blocking with a torch (and presumably anything else that can block) gives pretty much the same dmg reduction as a shield would during blocking, this is huge

Cleric is great and a very powerful class. One of the nicer Tank mages Especially if you get your blocking up. Let me know what your favorite moment was, or what you enjoy most about cleric.

39:46 I recently used the Lock spell, to lock the doors on the traders because I was playing a skeleton and didn't want my followers to run in there and get themselves killed. Realized the hard way, that this was a possibility, when Kali did so. I actually found it to be very useful in that regard

@@LyciantYT I haven't found any use beyond that though. I've also tried locking open gates, because those spell trap blocks were behind them and either I was too dumb to hit it correctly or it doesn't work. Anyway, I have been enjoying your videos a lot. I just got Barony a few days ago and I have been implementing a lot of little tricks I learned thanks to you and have been able to get a win (it was actually the run I talked about). Took me 22 tries overall but hey, better late than never

i've been jumping around your videos trying to get an understanding of how to play this game after about 30 hours in so far w/o a single victory. I see in a lot of your videos you spend time leveling up block... does this have any impact other than using shields/torches to block and it mitigates damage... or is there more to it?

Ill be honest i tend to avoid shields actually. It is pretty overpowered and kind of broken in a way. Basically once you have 3ac you can block rats with a torch and get your blocking up to 40. Boosting your ac from 3->16 and it just gets bwtter and better from allowing you to avoid alldamage from almost every single enemy in the game except magic and fire damage. Torches go up to 40 blocking past that you need shields. Its extremely powerful. Very easy to exploit and use. I think i had 56Ac on floor 3 with a monk which is basically good enough for the final boss. Its.. yeah.. pretty crazy.

@@LyciantYT i really appreciate that generous and detailed response. I've been watching a lot of your content lately and i'm really excited to try and catch a live stream. I've played a boatload of Barony the last few days after studying your speed run and regular run videos. A lot has gotten better for me... but i'm realizing a lot of the skill/strategy to the game is learning enemy melee distances and my personal attack distance. It's shocking how far you can hit and it doesn't look like you are. I've started always goin to the gnome mines on floor 2 so i can stock up on staffs and practice my combat there because it's very challenging and the lightning staff gnomes no-scope you if you're not ready. It's because of this i've played a LOT of wizard, and your human wizard playthru helped a lot for me understanding how to use the cold spell + melee strat, and letting fireball fire damage do work for you on trolls. I still haven't gotten a win yet... but i'm getting closer and im getting better at combat. Using block has really changed the game for me... but magic and traps still kill me plenty. I learned a lot about block from your Succubus Monk playthru, although i only like to play Vampire currently because i think they are the best. Levitation and food control is amazing! Free force bolt on cleric whaaaaat, too OP. Anyway - really enjoying the game and using your content to guide along the way. Cheers.

@@LyciantYT clinched my first Baron kill last night at 2am. Vampire/Monk, punched most of the way, killed the Baron w/ force bolt spam and running around like a crazy person. felt really good to finally kill him after he's been waxing me w/ his crazy attacks over and over. I tried punching him the first few times i made it to him... but this last run i said no more of that and instead ran around force bolting.

Congrats! Thats awesome! It feels so good to finally get your first kill ^.^ Now you just got to do the same for the twins, but with them you'll have to deal with a melee boss too :< I recommend potions of healing and some magic resistance to make it easier!

I've heard of similar once, Delver is one (but a lot of people told me its bad) It depends on what elements of barony you want and would like to experience more of. But thank you very much for watching I'm really glad to hear you aree enjoying the content and thank you for the comment!

Just missed this live BECAUSE I was learning Cleric with my duo. Best thing is playing pacifist Cleric with only healing, blocking and CC.

@@LyciantYT We got to Herx for the first time and my friend got shredded by the burst fire spells and I kited around for a bit before also dying due to no offense lol I have beaten bapho with monk before doing the "normal" route. Got insane luck with drops and managed to find flutter, dig and open spells early enough to guarantee extra levels Lucky shop luck with many appearing and most selling fresh foods AND I did a lot of tinkering to keep all my gear on top of finding a feather and a bunch of blank scrolls to enchant gloves and armor between 3-4. Biggest mistake of that run was trying to learn extra healing from a cursed book and losing Dominate :(

35:44 pft mans tried forcebolting a boulder. Actually isnt there an achievement for breaking a boulder as its rolling towards you? If not there should be.
