At 1:03, when he gives you his back like that, you could've easily brake checked yourself 1 second beforehand (to account for your slide as an allo) by letting go of W and holding shift (so you don't lose your ambush) and double bit him by the time you reached the tip of his tail, at that point he would have been forced to turn around and break his ambush and you would have just continued to zoom through the other side as you did and gotten away. That would have been 3 bites for you and none for him effectively sealing the deal and killing him without any risk to you whatsoever. His strategy to let someone run through him is not that smart in my opinion and would only work on inexperienced players or someone who made a mistake to fall for it (not being sarcastic or trying to bash you here). Nonetheless very well done on keeping the distance by running in a straight line and finishing the job in the end.
@@x3ni487 Yeah that's probably what he was doing, but by completely exposing yourself to danger just to bait someone to go in and bet on the fact that they are stupid enough to run through and not actually stop and get free bites in is exactly the reason why I see his strategy as not very smart. There are better ways to handle an allo as a subrex but sadly this is not one of them, it's just a risky unecessary gamble.
The problem with that is, yes, rex would get bit more times and stack up more bleed - but allo wouldn't be able to seal the deal quickly, it's not like subrex would keel over and die. So, in the scenario that you presented, allo stops behind the rex for more bites (losing more time on the ambush speed), and rex could tank those hits, and then run in a circle with his own ambush speed (rather than z/trot turning) to get to the allo - that way sub wouldn't lose his ambush speed. Allo at this point has 2 choices: disengage and try to run away (which wouldn't work, because allo already wasted a lot of his ambush speed time, and subrex would chase it down and kill it in 3-4 bites), OR, allo could attempt to follow the rex as rex is ambush speed running in circle (so both would be running in circle, with allo following the subrex) - but now, the allo is at a significant risk of getting brake checked, as subrex doesn't have a slide, and allo does. So let's say subrex brake checks, and allo actually manages to turn away and run away rather than end up in front of the subrex - still, subrex has more of his ambush speed time than allo, and can still chase down the allo. Basically, no matter what allo does, if allo stops behind subrex to get extra bites in, it's losing even more of his ambush speed timer, and SubRex can either chase it down, or, brake check (while keeping ambush speed with pressing shift) and THEN chase it down. No matter what allo does, it has to disengage, cuz it can't go into turn fight with Subrrex, and if he's forced to disengage, the subrex can chase it down. So logically, if allo wastes even more of his ambush time by stopping behind sub rex to get more bites in, the easier it becomes for the sub to chase it down once the disengage happens (and it will have to happen, allo doesn't have a choice there, if subrex understands not to let go of ambush, and try to brake check the allo) Idk if I explained it correctly or in a way it's understandable, but that's the problem I see with stopping behind the subrex for extra "free" bites - they're not free bites, they're a trade off for ambush speed timer, and the less timer u have, the more likely the sub to chase u down afterwards
@@StickyUtah Yeah you did explain it perfectly well and I thought you might come up with this response, which is not wrong and could totally happen. And of course the subrex would never keel over and die quickly, I never said he would, but what's to stop you from keeping the safe distance and not letting him sit at that point after having landed those 3 bites and disengaged safely? You see, the moment you went after him you were already at a 2-3 second disadvantage on ambush timer since the subrex waited for you to go through him and then chased after you, the difference between what you did and what I proposed is that in your case he didn't have to lose any time running in circles or adjust towards you but instead had a clear straight line to immediately start running towards you the moment you ran through him. In my proposition you are losing an extra second or two to get that double bite in and brake check yourself, but because of this at the same time the subrex would have to start running sooner than he did in your case because you reach his tail faster than you run completely through him, which means subrexy already breaks his ambush 1 or 2 seconds sooner, plus the fact that by running in a circle trying to shake you off already gives you a lot of opportunities to disengage at any point in another direction which would force him to spend extra time and distance to actually readjust and continue chasing you, in turn, making him lose another extra second and in the end he will still not catch up to you because he wasted just as many seconds by running too soon and readjusting towards you that you "wasted" by brake checking yourself and getting those free bites in, in the end making it relatively even compared to what happened to you as far as ambush timer is concerned. You see what I mean, the subrex theoretically would break his ambush at the same time in both scenarios, you just get to choose what you would spend those seconds until he starts running for, to completely run through him and risk getting caught and lose damage on bites, or brake check yourself behind him and get extra bites and let him be in the danger zone whilst still having opportunities to juke him in another direction. Well if a Allo stoped to get a 2-3 free bites behind sub rex keeping his ambush speed sub rex could've just crouch turned not wasting his ambush, since Allo has to keep his ambush speed he wouldn't be able to adjust as well and would end up in front off a sub rex and having little ambush time left sub could just run it down. I guess in optimal scenerio where Allo is a pro and knows to tap w so he can go just a tiny bit forward it could work but still he would lose a lot off ambush time and rex could prob run it down. I might be completely wrong about this i need to test it out to know for sure if that is a case let me know what you think about it
Once I was a full sub rex and there were 2 allos, one of which wanted to hunt me. Obviously it didn't know I was full so I managed to damage it enough for it to run away, then it's partner said she bled out xD then we became friends for some reason
Help in the isle legacy the escape control for sslir of the game and the bite does not work, I do not know why but I cannot bite and it does not appear in the contracts
Just a question, at 5:57 when the sub Rex turned away couldn’t you just Z walk and ride him or is their hit box wonky too? I’ve only ever fought a sub Rex once and got caught on a tree and died lol.
honestly i never give allos breathing room as a sub rex. I trot after them, i keep them moving and z turn to follow their circling if ive bit them. I'll also paus during a chase and get ambush and charge to catch up, it usually catches most allos off guard and the panic and try to turn it into a turn fight that i can ambush around, i also never sit down, i refuse to give free bites to opponents if i can try. Also i try to dodge bites by changing directions at the last second to miss their hitbox.
Hello sticky I'm not 100% sure but I think sub rex wether it is standing or sitting gains back its stamina in a total of 2 mins and 40 secs! I'm testing it out a lot in deathmatch and as far as I know I don't gain it back any faster by sitting! :)
Consider giving Beasts of Bermuda a try, there’s a lot of potential for fun and different combat situations. More than the isle I would say because of the growth system, aquatics and flyers, and more Dino specific abilities, talent tree
Where do you keep finding these terrible players? As soon as the fight started I knew you were fighting a new player. They have no clue how to fight. The fact he didn't destroy you from the very beginning is hilarious. He actually turned away from you and gave you free bites...... I stopped watching after 0:23 no need to watch more. That is a terrible Sub Rex player. You need to get on a server with people who actually know how to fight. Or are you too scared?
