Just used that technique earlier on my climb/descent on mayon rest house, Which i think somethin in between 10 to 20% gradient? Im not sure. 1 reason why you SHOULD NOT to keep your leverage on the HOODS on Descents is for safety reason. Hoods are attached on the drops by means of clamping. So the hoods have a tendency to slip down OR FAIL when too much leverage especially on uneven roads. Witnessed the hoods clamping failed many times, And it ain't good. And always led to injury. Riding downhill on drops gives you confidence that you have full control of the front wheel. Especially on cornering. And leaning back is also important especially on braking to prevent tipping over the front wheel since going on drops moves the center of gravity in the front. This is just my opinion based on experience. Ride safe

1:47 slide back on the saddle....the exact opposite of what the industry is selling and telling us. All I know is I need a slacker seat tube, I can never get the seat back far enough

Coach. Ung forward on d saddle and hand on the top of the hoods di na applicable? Un kc ni adapt ko learned from you

Those are still very much applicable on certain gradients when the slope exceed 12%. The postures defined here are for the regular type of climbing terrain of 5 to 8% grades

As i watch before your ride here in sampaloc -tagaytay road. You have taught to all newbies that during climbing is 90 degrees elbow and forward on the saddle. But now, this video is different. What is the correct posture during climbing? Hmmnn….

Coach just a question, so which one is better for climbing ? The one that is forward a little in the saddle and 90° arm angle or the slide back in the saddle with relax arm?
@atty.hectorjamandrediaz5240
Slide back? What happened to the "tip of the saddle"?
@CruzControlPH
@CruzControlPH Год назад
Climbing requires an active movement on the saddle depending on the gradient. In this episode, the course rolls at an average slope of 5 to 8% only. Not steep enough to require extra torque. The Tip of the saddle posture is much applicable on certain gradients when the slope exceed 12%. The postures defined here are for the regular type of climbing terrain. I hope that explanation helps

I already knew from Day 1 since I enjoyed biking and producing content. For sure , from Km Zero, I’ll be guaranteed at the back cramping watching our super men Pro riders battle it out for the glory. Those men are a different breed. They work harder than anyone else I know. thank you for taking the time to watch my vlog and for sharing your thoughts. Your feedback is appreciated more than you can imagine.

GE ER Can we not just be happy and appreciative that someone with Coach's credentials is giving these tips absolutely free and without expecting anything in return? Speaking of credentials, before the days of social media he was already doing that and competing on an international level (top 5 pa sa buong Asia before age 20)..let's be thankful that instead of still just competing, Coach prefers to nurture, inspire, and help people love the sport.
