@I Do Declare I do cali along with climbing and it definitely translates, all that time spent hanging from bars improves grip strength too with a little hangboarding and proper technique 7a+ should be doable for cali athletes

Watching Magnus' channel grow has been a great experience. He got me into climbing back when he was no frills and all "hey I'm magnis and I'm a professional climber." Straightforward and fairly serious at first (still entertaining), but now seeing him forge new friendships, laughing, teasing and getting teased - it's all so very wholesome and I'm glad I've stuck around to witness the changes.

I love this kind of videos. Like 7-10 years ago I used to do some climbing, the most novice level possible, but still had some fun with that. Few years ago got quite fat, a year ago started powerlifting as a remedy for being obese and I'm thinking to go back to climbing, just to work on my flexibility and grip strenght in a fun way. It makes me wonder how it will go for a 110kg man that used to climb when I was 70-80kg.

Love this video, really good vibe between everyone and Anton being adorable as per usual. Stefi is unbelievably strong andI love that she's shorter than all the guys and figuring her own beta out, I understand the struggle 😂 Really interesting watching athletes try different sports that their hyper specialised bodies aren't at all specialised to as well. This is interesting. I used to set routes for competitions in the early days of the sport and used to climb regularly with a friend who is 4' 11", and coincidentally was a freakishly strong power lifter (but not nearly as cute as Stefi). It takes some real creativity to make a route that is truly harder for short people, any reach disadvantage is generally replaced 2x with other advantages. Can only remember one in the gym, it required a 5.5' reach off an arm bar. Or maybe something like Lactic Acid Bath.

Been decades since I've climbed, living in Yosemite Valley at the time and have NEVER "climbed" in a gym. From that viewpoint, they relied FAR too much on arm strength; worse even, was arms above the heart level. That is fine for very short routes, but one should be more reliant on foot placement with arms below the heart level to avoid the quick over "pump." The instruction of opposing dynamics was excellent!

Magnus. I have notice in many of your videos you tend to do maximum weight dead hangs for a few seconds and then several minute rest. Have you heard of the 7/3 repeaters that the Horsts do? What are your thoughts on this technique?

Been bouldering in Colorado the past few years and now I'm about to go back to school and climb more vertically. You've really helped inspire me with climbing. You've introduced me to a lot of the climbing community and you have so many other amazing athletes that I follow join you.
