If Embiid goes anywhere his first choice is going to be Miami, he loved playing with Jimmy Butler and I don't think he ever forgave the franchise for trading him in favor of keeping Tobias Harris.
Here's what I don't understand. If Harden opted into his contract because he couldn't get that amount in free agency, why would any team trade assets to acquire him at that amount?
it's not that harden didn't think teams would pay him, he really thought he had that kind of value (delusion). However, The 76ers got harden's bird rights in the trade with the nets. Meaning no other team can pay harden more than the 76ers can (bird rights allow teams to pay their current players more money and go over the salary cap. as a way to incentivize players to stay on their current team). So Harden thought he would opt in, make the most money he could, and that other teams would be willing to pay that extra cash for him. And guess what, when the 76ers trade him to the clippers, the clippers would get his bird rights, allowing the clippers to sign harden for more money next year as opposed to if he just left phili last year and signed with LAC in the summer. All this was because he was trying to capitalize the amount of money he could get using the NBA bird rights
Yall talk with no knowledge...Russ took that "deal" because he has a chance to stay home and liked the Clippers...he could've got more...plus that was all the Clippers could offer him...Ty Lue and Lawrence Frank said they would've offered more if they had it

As a clippers season ticket holder I’m glad this trade didn’t go through. I’m sick of this organization trading for old, hurt, troublesome players that ride the bench 2/3rds of the season.

He seems to be this generation's Bob McAdoo--a former superstar that can no longer be The Man, and go to someone that can still impact games as a high volume shooter off the bench, like Bob did with the early 80s Lakers.
clippers would need to include more than terance mann on that trade as the salaries dont match. They would probably need to include marcus morris and a couple of other players to match salaries.
I think philly would be paying part of his salary with that deal. Any deal for harden on the clippers makes zero sense unless Russ is included. Embid and Russ would play great together.
besides that, russ can not be included in the deal right now because he just signed a new contract. He must have 6 months with the team to trade him...
Terrance Mann is a high-tier role player similar to what Bruce Brown was to Denver last year. He plays multiple positions defends well, attacks the rim, and can shoot 3s. He is also THE ONLY homegrown talent LA has, so yes they should value him as much as possible

As a Knicks fan we just want to let it be known the MEDIA started these rumors with Embid to the Knicks NOT Knicks fans. Every time this happens the media will troll us for not getting said superstar when we could of been just another team interested or not interested in said superstar at all.

I'm a 6er fan, and we been seeing this for years. The media is honestly pathetic, but if embiid does ask out, imo it'll be September next year if we fail to land a super star in free agency. Only way he stays in my opinion is if we land someone like pascal, but we always mess everything up, so I won't be surprised.
I don't think the Clippers actually want Harden at all and for whatever reason the Clippers just won't come out and say it. So instead they keep using Mann as the excuse. Lue pretty much said he didn't want Harden and that he's happy with the team he has.

Straight up, and the fact that a team won’t give up a role player for a multi time all start and a former league MVP that can average double digits in assists while still giving you 20 points a game tell you all you need to know about how the league views him at this point.
Brou always thinks having more star athletes is better than having star players + role players. You absolutely need role players on a winning team Brou!! Mann is actually really important to the clippers since he is attacking the rim, healthy, young and hustles. Kawhi and PG dont do those things anymore, thats why they need Mann. Obviously on a team like the Kings for example he wouldnt be as valuable to them.

Im from Tucson, raised in Phoenix.. When Harden was at ASU he looked like a #1 pick. Like Houston Harden in college. Until the tournament. He just disappeared. My mom is from Tucson, went to U of A and is a Wildcat fan. I convinced her to be a Harden fan based on how good he was in college. She said way back then "Harden aint what I thought he was, he is a choker"
Maybe Clippers worried about ruining the chemistry. Every where Harden has gone, he has left the team in his wake. Sure Clippers have health issues with their 2 big stars, but bringing in Harden may cause a bigger issue and they are worse off.

100% Clipper fan and I appreciate that from a Laker Fan bc I know we annoy the ish out of each other. Mann is UNDERRATED. His energy on defense and he's not ball dominant on offense. Always moving. Set screens. Gets boards. Hits shots all over the court. I was at Game 6 when Clippers came back from 25 to beat the Jazz and reach our first WCF. Mann scored 45 that night.

It is kind of reasonable but the problem is that harden will probably want out again in a year or so. Mann is on a good contract and is probably in the top 6-7 players on the team, sad as that sounds. The first one will probably be a pretty good one. I would give them Mann and the swap or the first and some lesser player(s), not both. It could also mean that they might actually try to get off one or both stars sooner rather than later as obviously Harden has less value and Mann more in that scenario. Maybe wishful thinking on my part
