Nice review Dave. Just some things to note. - The Clone 5 is based off of the Cyborg 6 architecture. Meaning there are no wires tethering the trigger frame with the body. - Clone 5 like many of Macdev's spools all run at 100 psi operating pressure - Clone 5 came with a delrin valve and the blue bolt. Clone 5s introduced a aluminum valve and gold bolt
Hi there! Thanks very much for the feedback. My errors here have led to a new iFriend in Connor...he helped me understand where I went wrong :) Thanks for watching!
Hey hey I just ordered myself a macdev Clone 5 with the infinity drive for Christmas it’s arriving soon in like less then a week and I can’t wait to shoot it
I've been looking at the Clone 5/Prime a lot lately. They seem like solid shooters. Thank you for describing the differences in the 3 Clone 5 versions! Do you feel the Clone 5 Infinity with the Prime solenoid shoots much different than the 5/5s with the gold bolt though?
been out of the game since 2006 and about to dive back in head first, trying to decide on what electro marker to pick up to go along with the free flow autococker i built piece by piece back in the day - was leaning towards a shocker xls but damn you may have sold me on the macdev, i used to love playing with my buddies airmag back in the day.....hmmmmmmmmm
Just to let you know your review put me over the edge for getting a Clone 5 Infinity , I got it in today & WOW what great marker !!!!! Thx man for the awesome advice
Great to hear! I mentioned in the vid that I had a new one on the way for myself, and I still have it. I've played with it a ton, and I like it as much now as I did when I made the vid. Awesome marker for sure.
hello I have the macdev clone 5 and macdev prime. They both ask me to use them with a pressure of 100 psi. which tank or how can I make my ninja pro2 tank work at the pressure I need which is 100 psi
Please read the manual again. Neither of those markers (or any other marker ever) require a 100psi tank output. If your Clone 5 is an Infinity, then it can use anything up to 1000psi. In general, imo it's a good idea to have every tank you own set to about 450. Pretty much every marker (not Automags) is very happy at that pressure. This includes both of your MacDev markers no matter which version Clone you've got there.
pretty new to paintball and I've been finding myself coming to your channel more and more often. You got me wanting a vanquisher but i can't find one and now after this review I'm thinking of going with a mac dev. keep up the great work
Hey thanks for watching! So, if you're new to paintball, I would not recommend a MacDev marker. In the time since I made this video, it has become apparent that MacDev has no meaningful customer support (at least in the US), Emails go unanswered, and in general there is no actual support mechanism of any kind. If you happen to know who to talk to, you can get help, but 'I know a guy' isn't a customer support model. As you become more familiar with paintball gear, you may decide to try one of these, and they are great markers for sure. At this time, I'd suggest checking out my Empire Syx review, or any of the Planet Eclipse videos as guides re: what markers to try out.
@@airtimepaintball463 I’ve tried a gteck170r and also the emeck so far. I love only gone once but I’ve been in love with the way the LV’s look and the slick design to them. Of course still much more to go but I’ve already invested into a pod pack, helmet, pants, shoes, pods, a tank the whole 9 expect the marker and a barrel kit.
I supported Mac Dev, buying their first Cyborg. it had air flow issues ruined many a days of paintball. I tried everything to get it fixed; they were content to ignore the problem. I hope Mac Dev never gets popular in the States. I don't care if they have improved their product. they sold me garbage and did not care to make it right.
