(The term comes from the brass insignia military officers wear to show their rank.) I think Rafferty is saying that the "little grey aliens" weren't the ones in charge, didn't know quite what they were doing, and/or weren't the brightest. [1:15]

Arson Barn Right, and of course if the skit is comedic and every actor is a comedian or has a comedic background, filming it all in one take, it’s a miracle if at least one person in that room doesn’t crack up. You don’t think a comedian isn’t going to try to subtly make other comedians laugh out of their own amusement? It’s enjoyable because you can tell they’re screwing with each other and having fun. It’s not like it’s a professional drama lol

The beautiful co-star Dorothy Lamour would be caught in the middle of this, confused by them not following the script, then got in on the game, hiring her own writers.

Captain here: She's asking do you think they were banging her [knockers] around to collect data on her on how they moved or whatever? And she says 'no...no that felt super off the books', which means no, they were just smacking her boobs around for fun and the aliens are just your normal sex fetish creeps. Which is basically her entire experience both times: the aliens are just having creepy fetish time with her and doing nothing scientific, which is why there was an alien lookout even, because the 'big brass (higher up aliens)' probably would not have not liked that behavior.
