@@mauz791 It was a mediocre and completely unnecessary sequel that comes nowhere near the original. Tron Legacy is a much worthy sequel to Tron than BR2049 is to Blade Runner.
@@hyperjohn6627 Imagine if the whole film was just them trying to satisfy a parameter to activate a hidden function in Clu’s programming. Like Kevin’s apology satisfies the condition and he realizes he misinterpreted his directive, but his fleet is already ordered to go through the portal, so now they have to work together to stop the fleet. They’d figure out that the only way to stop the fleet would be through re-integration, and they do it, with Sam seeing how compassionate and selfless his dad was. It wouldn’t have had a cool climax with villain vs hero like we got, but it would’ve been better for character development.
I feel sorry for anybody who couldn’t watch this in theaters. It was such an experience to witness this on the big screen, especially during a time when visuals were not nearly as good as they are now. This movie was and still is generational.
It will. Just like the original. People are too caught up in superhero movies right now. The original was slept on too but became a cult classic nearly a decade after it was released. Mark my words it will gain traction because everything is becoming "meta verse" and "oculus" based. People will realize this movie was way ahead of its time. Just like the original did....
@@dray7276 The issue was that Disney had put so much focus on Tron being an action franchise that when they bought Lucasfilm and thus Star Wars, ALL BETS WERE OFF. Tron was inspired by Star Wars and thus was really sad to see be another victim of corporatism that Disney is very well known for.
This movie is more philosophical than people think. I see alot alot of similarities with God and the rebellion of men and Satan against their creator. And the Son coming to the rescue like Jesus did
@@TheAlienGangster they really didn’t need to have that man turn around and say “we’re always on the same team” that was probably the worst CG shot and the line is kinda obvious now that I think about it. Petition to remove that shot
@@andrewstephens5885 Literally makes the movie perfect with young Flynn looking fine and still giving the eerieness to Clu. I've tried to explain this to people why Clu being de-aged actually makes him uncanny in a good way.
@@dominicg2456 substitute the word "user" from the clip for imposter. And apply the same logic as with Aaron's Original comment. That's how I saw it anyway
@@ltcysaber87 let’s hope it actually happens. This back and forth has been going on for nearly a decade. Leto’s also been attached for ages but the film still isn’t officially in production.
Honestly, at this point, if they put some real effort into it, Tron 3 would work better as an actual video game. Especially with the next gen consoled coming out.
My dad's actually a programer and he pointed out that the Grid would've had a back up that had various saves so both Kevin and CLU would still be alive technically alive. I'm waiting for the third movie, would love it if they covered that. But I'm not going to get my hopes up on either acount😢
That would be tackling problems with whole brain emulation and consciousness to boot. I don't think Disney has someone talented enough to do the topic justice.
I'm a programmer as well, and he would've definitely had backups. Not only that, Kevin's coding which was in his ring that Sam used in the portal to get back to the real world was basically uploaded so technically Sam could program his father again since the code would be in a database somewhere. (well in the usb stick hanging around Sam's neck at the end along with everything else)
@@ChristopherJones16 the usb stick around Sam's neck is the cliff hanger. We all somehow know what is on that usb. And it also makes us think "Ooooooohhhhh, a Tron 3 perhaps?!"
kevin flynn is probably dead dead, but clu could easily still be around. same with tron. If they brought back kevin in a future movie it would undercut his sacrifice in this one, so they probably shouldn’t do that.
I love how this entire video is just... the scene of Clu's walk of swag. No music, no frills, no bells or whistles. Just the movie, and Clu's swag walk.
@@annchalos2270honestly I agree with that, if they do it now it’ll be 10 percent change it’ll be exactly what we needed or the more likely 90 percent where they’ll make into an unnecessarily woke bs dumpster fire of itself.
Damn, a dope glowing outfit and helmet, slow motion walk with that muisc, fireworks all around, in a large epic stadium with everyone cheering for you as the announcer talks about how great you are. How much better can a entrance get?
Clu’s bad cgi actually worked really well in this case because it made him look like a video game character. And sense it’s supposed to be a video game, his look actually makes sense.
I thought the same, but... one of the worst shots is the opening of young Flynn turning around in the real world. It was so unnecessar, they had a happy accident of a explanation for the uncanny valley & wasted for that one two second shot when the scene already served its purpose. The real Flynn is more uncanny than his own coding lol
Lol! a boy in my class sounded like the guy in the beginning when he was pointing out the "user" instead, the boy called the girl a loser for reminding the teacher she hadn't picked up our homework yet.
my mom took me to the theater when this movie come out. I was like 6 back then, English is my second language so I didn't even understand 50% of the subtitles, but what I remembered was I love Tron legacy to my bones. I remember they used to sell the popcorn pepsi combo when the movie came out with the figures from the movie, I got the rizzler and I bragged him with my friends and my family for days. Tho not everybody likes it, I still love Tron legacy till the end of time.
With the slight compression when under weight *chefs kiss*. It's little details like that that add to the believability of the technology. Like how in star wars the holograms are always a single hazy light blue colour instead of perfect full colour clarity, implying limitations of technology.
The feeling that this film generates in me is inexplicable, I don't know if it's a kind of nostalgia or something else, but the love I have for this work is incalculable.
@@John-X How can you be so misinformed lol! Do you know that the largest species of great apes completely survive on vegetarian diet? They could smash your skull with their bare hands after having eaten only vegetarian food! Vegan, veg or non-veg doesn't matter, what matters is if you are taking the right food
@@adityavardhangundla2722 I don't know if you know this, but other than humans, the great apes are uh...how can out this lightly: *Stupid.* The reason humans became the smartest animals is because we ate animal protein, it helped our brains become more advanced. The right food is Veggies *and* Meat, not _only_ veggies.
@@John-X I don't know how to explain this to you...even animals get nutrition from veggies. What you are eating is basically veggies but through an agent medium(animal). This not only means less nutrition will be passed compared to veggies but also results in Bio-magnification. Btw, Great apes are not as intelligent as because of their Genes, and not the food they eat. I'm sure you are aware that many Hindus, Buddhists and Jains refrain from eating Non-Veg, and many people from these communities have risen to the top of their fields, including fields that are dependent on high IQ and mental capacity.
This movie was way too ahead of its time. Imagine this movie running parallel to idea of metaverse. Literally changes the whole prospective of this movie.
Tron legacy was a top 5 movie theater experience for me and I have never come close to duplicating it during a rewatch. I just LOVED how the movie switched back and forth from 3d to 2d, sooo unique, and then the soundtrack is the cherry sprinkles and chocolate sauce to top everything off
The whole atmosphere of this movie is just awesome. The music fits so well, daft punk really did AN EPIC JOB. I love the little bit crushed drums at the beginning of this scene just to give that *computer* feel Little details like that are awesome lol
This move is so deeply engrained into the core of who I am I physically can not comprehend how people do not enjoy it. The costumes and music alone make it one of the best movies of all time.
This is and will always be my favorite movie. The amount of dopamine and excitment I get from this movie is enough to power a star. The music, the design, the sets, the plot and setting, the actors, the graphics, the colors, the everything! I love Tron Legacy so much
Garrett Hedlund doesn't get enough credit for how he plays Sam in Legacy. A lot of people seem to think that he doesn't have that much personality, that he's just a "generic young white dude", but he really isn't. He really portrays Sam well.
This film has become a cult classic. It’s in every way better than the first film, yet it respects and compliments it and builds on its established universe. The perfect sequel.
I love this movie and personally i am tired of people telling me i shouldnt like it simply because its not the same exact thing the original tron was, but if you think about it, we wouldnt like this tron movie if it was exactly the same as the original, it wouldnt expand or do anything interesting.
This tron is entertaining yes, but story wise it aint good. It has good soundtracks. Derezzed is amazing. You shouldn't feel bad for liking this movie however it aint that great.
This movie kicks fuckin’ ass! It was ahead of time for its time. My favorite effect is the colors of the lights! The oranges and blues of light blew me away.
