Clubs, Kettlebells & Maces are our favorite tools for slingin' some steel. Doing our Playout in the soft sand was an added benefit. Remember: We use the Double Ball Staffs, Longevity Rings, & Indian Clubs to do Joint & Sinew Conditioning before & after your heavier play. Always make your movement practice Mindful, Creative & Joyous. ZK

One of the things I love about clubs, kettlebells and all the Tools of the Trade is that they are fun to play with and provide so many different options for whole body/whole person growth and evolution. ZK

People often ask us how we have developed the discipline to do our Primal Nature Play every single day for over 13 years. The answer is that we don't use discipline. We create so much joy, so much delight in how we move that it is the bliss that draws us to move each day. So we say that we have developed the "Blissipline" not the discipline. ZK

Hello, I admire your videos bravo for your work. I want to start training with clubbells I am a sporty man of 75 kg for 1.80m, what weight of clubbells can you advise me? Thank you for your help !
@zenkahuna
@zenkahuna 3 года назад
If you are going to use steel Clubbells I generally start my students off with 5, 7 or 10 pound. If you are using wooden Clubs I start my students with 1 to 3 pound Clubs. BUT you should always listen to your body and use whatever weight allows you to do the various movements with good form. It is essential to learn good form first and only then increase weight or reps. ZK

Awesome!! I gotta get myself a clubbell!! I have only just found out about this piece of equipment... I'm a relatively strong man in his early 30s focusing on strength and functional training who likes a challenge but also likes to train sensibly. I'm also fortunate in that my body recovers very quickly and I am able to train frequently. Is there a weight you would recommend in kg? Thanks!
@zenkahuna
@zenkahuna 3 года назад
It is difficult to say without seeing you in person. Probably a 10 pound Clubbell would be a good weight to start with. When I teach clients I have them start with 1 to 3 pound wooden Clubs, then 5 pound Clubbell, 10 pound and upward. In PNP we focus on training the neurology, training the skills first and foremost. The weight increases in concert with the skills. ZK

If your forearms are "killing" you then it is likely that you are trying to control the Clubs with your grip rather than connecting to the core. ZK

Hi!!! Regards from Argentina. I am 62 years old and love train in the park with a demolition hammer of 5kg. I did dont know the clubbell. I want one. ¿What weigth do you advices me? Thanks a lot for the routine of exercises. You are a lot of inspiration for me. REegards again and happy new year.

Hello Miguel. Welcome to my RU-vid channel. I too love using a sledgehammer (demolition hammer). I am not sure what is available in Argentina in the way of Clubbells. I would guess that a 10 or 15 pound Clubbell would be a good place to start. Learning how to swing a Clubbell correctly takes time. Going too heavy too soon is counter-productive. I began training with a 10 lb Clubbell 15 years ago. I had already learned Indian Club Swinging with 1 to 5 pound wooden Clubs. Ideal might be to get both a 10 and a 15 pound. Remember that you can use a Clubbell with one or two hands. Have fun learning the moves. ZK

@@zenkahuna Thanks my friend. After your video, y found some places where sold clubbells. All this training, macebell and clubbell are a bit underground here, but the people is learning about. Saludos!

That must have really taken some doing Dr M. So easy to say but I bet it took a lot of thinking to detach yourselves from what you had as the norm in your training lives. I admire your ability to remain detached for the future. You never fail to amaze me. Hope that others have been able to get a copy of your excellent book ' living healthy in an unhealthy world' if not get hold of a copy it is packed with useful information.

@@chrisslade5644 Thanks for commenting on my book. Even though it was published years ago, I still hear from folks who come across it in a used bookstore. To tell you the truth I still like to read through it. Often times I just flip to a page and read whatever is there. I love going back to basic over and over again to learn them at deeper levels. ZK
