Coaches Struggle With Using Pronouns 

As a non American I'm highly confused about the state of the western world.

This isn't satire. This is literally the conversation 'they' have.

Referring to a single individual as “they” or “them” is just psychotic

Teacher: How about if I use their uniform numbers then? Coach: We took the numbers off their uniforms. Teacher: Why? Coach: Numbers are racist.

It's 100% to the point: "Nobody knows who they are, we just have to listen to them!" It's sums up the whole absurdity of the West today.

"Nobody knows who THEY are. We just have to listen to THEM!". -Such a profound reflection on the current state of our society.

The Abbot and Costello “Who’s on first” joke has gotten really serious.

How somebody once said: "This would be funny if it wasn't so sad".

Surprised that “first base” wasn’t canceled for being a misogynist term.

It is scary how real this is and how a certain group in society is pushing hard to normalize crazy.

I went to see my doctor, whom I haven't seen in years. When I went to fill out the forms it had all the preferred pro-noun questions, (first time I've had so many options). I then determined that my pro-nouns are Thee Thy Thou, they are gender neutral and they can be plural or singular. It really is the best solution but more to the point, it drives the libs crazy because it sounds so Biblical. The 'dude' at the clinic tried to get me to change thy to they and use it rather than thou, but I wouldn't. They didn't think I could hear them talking and one of them said, "He's not taking it seriously so we should just change it". I went up to the desk and asked them what they were talking about and they denied it was me they were discussing. Later when my doctor came in, (he's treated my whole family for years so I know him well), he asked me what I had done to them? When I told him, he thought it was hilarious. I guess I had the front office in quite a stir.

You guys need to start making satire again because all this reality content is starting to make me think you're a normal news network.

I identify as king. My preferred pronouns are "Your Majesty" and "Master".

This is so true. In my country, gender's definition in the teacher's national test is "it's a social construct not biological." If you don't get that right, you won't get your license. If you have a license to teach they can take that away from you.

As a retired teacher, this used to be Funny. It is now an accurate description of the current American educational system. Which is the primary reason I retired.

As a Professional English Major, I’m as befuddled as that English teacher.

Remember ten years ago when liberals laughed at conservatives saying that if we kept going that direction, it would be a slippery slope that would end up at this state. They were like "that's stupid" and "it'd never go that far". Mmm...hmm...

I relate to this. My daughter went to a comedy show and was telling me about it. She kept saying "they" and I had to keep asking her who and how many people were on stage. I had so much trouble following my daughter's story. There was only one comedian present.

I’m a teacher with at least two students whose pronouns are “they” and five students named Addison this year. Six named Riley/Rylee/Reilly, and another five or six named Emily as always

On Reddit (yea, I know) I was told that there's no logic to language from people who had no issues bowing down to the LGBT+ language movement.

i swear i remember pronouns being defined as something people use to describe another person, place or object, not something you can choose/"demand" other people refer to you as.

An organization needed volunteers and I was willingtohelp. However, when their emails started with what pronouns to use I sent them my reasoning for retracting my offer to help. I don't do crazy...

I like how the coach - who was trying to comply with the litany of pronoun choices - breaks cover and reveals that - though he puts up a front of tolerance, he is actually cracking just under the surface. This is funny… but so on-point it’s actually dark.

English is not my first language and very often when I see singular "they" being used it gets me confused asking "who"

I never imagined Bud Abbott's & Lou Costello's "Who's on First" routine would be so pertinent in our modern age.

I'm old enough to remember when "gender-neutral pronouns" meant: he, him, his....within the proper context. And "man/mankind," also depending on context, was understood by all educated people to mean "all humans."

One of my friends randomly started talking about someone that he dated and called them "they" and I was so lost for like 10 minutes until I figured it out through context that he was talking about another person. 🙃 The destruction of our language is immenent.
