The Coal Mountain Jeep Jamboree is held at the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA). The little YJ Wrangler did well in all of the rocks and hills but did blow out the drive shaft double cardan joint and shifted some things around which will need to be addressed.

If there is ever a test of your build, I would say that was it. Nice job, made us YJ Owners proud.

YJ's are not the best at rocks but she did really well. Once I get it geared lower it will do even better.

Some amazing builds at the Jamboree events. Some people have a lot of money to spend on their Jeeps.

Hey, I'm looking into doing the Coal Mountain Jamboree the first weekend of August with my Mom. I drive a 2000 XJ thats stock height with 29" tires. You said those were rated 6-7, do you think i'd be fine if I stuck to the 3-4 rated trails?

Stock Jeeps can do the easier trails. You might hit some rocks but you will be surprised what the Jeep can do.

i got a 94 yj 2.5, with 32s, what are you running as far as gears, tire size ??? iam thinking 4.88 gears for the 32s ,i just got a 1 inch body lift and a 1/2 inch shackle lift, that little jeep goes dont it

Right now I have 33's and stock 4.10 gearing. It is clearly not the right combo. I am going to do a Ford 8.8 swap and install 5.13 gears. Did not want to invest any money in the Dana 35 so I have waited to do it all at the same time.

Looks pretty tough! What was the trail rating on these?

Jamboree rates the trails 1 to 10 and these were in the 6 to 7 range.

jshulch I believe that is a blue trail 5-6. I think it’s called East Bound and Down. I did that same trail last year at the 2018 Jamboree. Kinda difficult with the slippery rocks. But fun!
