Following along with the realities of real home garage car projects. I bring you along as I take on projects with my 2003 MR2 Spyder and 1991 Jeep Wrangle YJ. I am not a professional mechanic but I love cars and saving money by doing the work myself so I have more money for parts!
That makes since , i just fixed my ac , it got hot in sw florida , started pulling my little landscape trailer w/ scag mower , and i got a check engine light come on , i was at 22.8 mpg average , i dropped to 15.6 on my intrument cluster , i'll look into that thermostat .. thanx
What size shoe do you wear? I am an 11 shoe size. I just got an 05 as well and I noticed that the shifter is to close for me. I'm 6', 2" but only a 31" inseam so I'm long waisted. My stock wind screen has a lot of wind buffeting as well when at the top setting
Do you think other GM vehicles that share the same platform with that year of Grand Prix will have the same seat bolt pattern and be able to fit as well (impala, Monte Carlo , allure, lacrosse)
My straight 6 ,, 2004 worked fine change a fuel pump & a fuel filter aka regulator might be the correct term ... every since east too much gas any suggestions.. my issue was a no start it ended up being no start.. should I put the old pump back and I see nor smell my leaks
Mine didn't have instructions book with it so I was hoping your video would be more full installation instructions but you left a lof out such as how to made the cable adjustment. Good video
Good video. Same here, bump stops are way up there with a 4" lift. At one time, I considered welding some extensions to the frame, but have never gotten around to it.
I bought one in 1985, for $2300. Great machine, ran like hell. 4 carbs, and water cooled. Cost Honda too much to build, so they only built them for 2 years. Wish I kept mine, but got hit by a car riding my Fuji Racing bike, and had to sell. Used a fuel stabilizer over the winter and ran it periodically to keep it running properly. Great for local travel, not the best for long distance.
Not sure if you are still monitoring this or not. My glass just fell out and going to give this repair a shot the same way, same ahesive. Do you still have the car? Did the adhesive bond ever fail?
Thanks, I have a hard top for mine too but when summer rolls around here in Colorado, I'd really like to use the soft on those nice days. I think I might get a friend to help me position the glass and place a thick bead of the adhesive around the whole thing and do it all at once instead of 1/2 at a time like you did. Like you said, beats spending $600 on a new top and two days installing it myself or spending $1000 to have a pro put it on. Worth a shot. Appreciate the reply.
You shouldn’t have to turn on the ignition to turn the dash lights on. They will come on when you push either the headlight or parking light button. Maybe save you 2 seconds out of your day. 😊
Just bought an 06 model is it possible to lower the bike as my legs struggle to touch the ground it's very wobbly to hold up and turn around im petrified i might drop the bike it has a black sheepskin seat cover on it
6:48 this is the side I need help on lol. Did you have to take the entire fairing off to install? Otherwise looks super easy. Would love a short video how to do the right side
It has been a while now but I did not remove the fairing. Don’t recall if I removed a few connectors or not but I do recall pulling the fairing out of the way that little bit to get the bolt in.
Do you ever smash your shins into the fairings when attempting to use the pegs? I ordered a set for myself, but I'm 6'6" and afraid I won't be able to utilize them the way I was hoping... :/
Wow how full of crap can you be?! A 1zz makes 140 hp. A 2zz makes 180hp. That is nowhere near double the horsepower. 280 is double 140. Is math really that hard? Yes it does improve the car and the six speed helps by having lower gear ratios and more of them. Basically Toyota cars are set up very similarly and it shouldn't be too hard to swap from a 1zz to a 2zz since they're basically the same engine with different heads.
Great video wish for the sake of someone trying to look at your you could have traveled with your camera down the harness and tried to show each connector as it sits when installed on the engine. I would do this but my engine is already installed, The Throttle position sensor seems to get some people but its just like you said upside down so only needs the pin needs to be moved around, you said map but we knew what you meant, I found some people leave the oil solenoid for lift near the front of the timing cover under the valve cover not plugged in the lift will only work half way so some people think they have lift because they can hear it come in but its not all of your lift and I know people that drive like this for many years and never realized that the reason their cars are a little slower top end after 6k was because they where not getting both cams I guess, you can here it because it does change the intake cam still. Cool video, I like these cars they give people an opportunity to do something right with a WRD (wrong wheel drive engine).
Hahaha, he cuts the old fuel filter out and says, "look at all of the stuff that came out!" "Looks like rust or something. " Well, where do you think all that rust came from? Answer: the main and auxiliary tank. Whoever gets this bike is going to have more problems. The tank will eventually develop a pinhole leak and the carbs will need to be cleaned of all those minute rust particles that will clog the jets.
Garauld is pretty handy as a fabricator - he might be able to make you something for that. I just bought some highway peg plates from him a week ago so he's very much alive and fabbing 🙂
