Opening weekend for coastal cutthroat fishing was a thrilling adventure as we, Pete and Josh (Spawn owners), set out to target this amazing species. Armed with Spawn products, we navigated the challenging terrain and remote locations where coastal cutthroat live. Our expertise and flies tied up with all Spawn materials paid off! We hope you love this video!

Great video guys. Fantastic to see you putting those great products and amazing flies to their intended use. I know of a fly shop where you can get a new rod 😏

Nice video Josh - another great day on the creek of dreams. You guys captured some great views of trout crushing flies from below. Breaking a rod once you've done the travelling to get there is a bitch. I'm betting you bring along a second rod from now on. I broke a rod after making the hike inot a mountain lake about 25 years ago. I off-loaded 20 feet or so of fly line and tied it to a bent stick with no flex at all. I had a great day and caught a bunch of trout. Apparently, the trout don't care at all how you get that fly in front of them.

Fantastic video! Love chasing cuttys on tiny water and it's awesome to see how you guys do it. Bummer about the rod, but I was wondering what weight you all prefer for this?

Thank you! The range of weights would be 3-5. Typically we fish 4 weights with floating lines.

Who says you need a full functioning fly rod to catch fish 😂. I feel the pain breaking the rod but you guys recovered and landed some really nice sized cuttys. Well done and keep the content coming. I’d like to see more explanation of techniques and flys as well. Love your store and channel.

Love it. As someone who also fishes a lot for coastal cutthroat and who watches a lot of fishing on RU-vid I have a couple thoughts on the video. Most of the shots seem to be zoomed in too far. Hard to see the entire scene. Might be your camera lens. Would be cool to get a little more perspective. Also it would be good if you could share a little more info about techniques for targeting the fish. But great video, this is also some of my favorite fishing 🎣
