Mark, best point is at the end. On course gaming is so important b/c the results will be different when hitting a rel target. With that said you are really hitting some bombs indoors. Well done on the speed training. Thanks as always

I’ve been using the arcoss system for about 2 years now and find is extremely helpful when it came to learning my club lengths and knowing what club to hit on approach shots. And now with all the data it’s collected is good for club gapping and learning my misses and where they are.

What I like is that the "cutty fairway finder" wasn't actually the most accurate....in this scenario. Can't apply this as a blanket statement, but goes back to what you always say about knowing your patterns!

I would love to see a comparison of the F8, F9 and the SpeedZone. So we would have a real picture of the evolution of the Cobra Drivers in recent years. Mark come a few days to Spain to play!! You will find many golf courses at good temperature and sunny days

I just picked one up in black and white, I absolutely love this driver, it added 30-40 yards on my old driver and was crushing it down the middle of the fairway (very unusual , have a heavy slice) I have heavy weight in back

I use Arccos, it’s great. Something’s a bit off somewhere though as it seems I only hit the ball at 50-60% of the distance of the average golf forum poster 😉

Nice to see some of the swing speed training peaking in! One note about it, I've heard it can take a few weeks for that new speed gain to show up on the course. Meaning that even though you can swing faster, now you have to override your on-course mental process so it can trust to swing at that speed! As you showed in the last bit about on-course testing, you had shorter drives than when just hitting them straight forward into an unlimited range, probably due to trying to be more controlled to hit fairway. That's a mental switch you have to train as well, to trust in swinging flat out on the course instead of trying to be more precise and controlling as that will make you swing a bit slower. Hence it might be worth a few goes on the simulator playing courses and trying to hit fairways, but letting it rip as hard as you can! Great review sir!!!!

Yes Mark do the compare with the F9. From memory you had a bit of and issue with drop offs of the F9 so would be interested to see how this compares to that. The price point of this is again the big winner. Lastly, didn't you like the dual exhausts, sure they weren't giving you that extra speed.

I've had the Cobra F8 driver (at 9.5) and 3W (15) for almost two years. Love the look and feel of both. Given my high handicap, I didn't think jumping to the F9 mattered much, but would consider a fitting for the new SZ as well as other brands. BTW... I've never used the Accros on either club. Don't really prefer to carry my phone in my pocket.

As someone that has to think about budget I've got to take my hat off to Cobra. They could price this driver the same as the other £450/£500 drivers and as that seems to be the norm now no one would bat an eyelid but they've made a driver that I can afford to get fitted for rather than having to wait a year to get from Ebay and work the settings out myself. Great review as always Mr C.

That footnote is SO important. Thanks for including that! I'm gaming the F9 (won it off a buddy) and hitting far better than the driver I was actually fit for. Maybe he'll buy an SZ and I can win that one off him too! A comparison would be interesting.

thanks for showing the gaming scenario...definitely makes a difference...It's like when I'm on the range, drives are much better because there's no penalty for a miss...just grab another ball and free wheel the next one...Wisk I could bring that to the course but never happens...#lovethegame

I got the bio cell +. Bought 3 drivers since but it always finds it way back. I think I’d bet to say there isn’t anything much better on the market today!!

@@davidhill6841 I still use the biocell, I still can't hit any thing any better, the f9 had a bit more distance but not as straight as the biocell. So it's very small margines to gain at £350 to £500 price.

I can honestly say I hit a crap drive 250 and a good drive 280. Doesn’t matter what new 2019 driver I use I get the same numbers as my cobra bio cell +. I think mark and James Robinson proved that in they’re past driver test recently to be fair

I was fitted for a new driver early this year & ended up with the brilliant TS3! I tried the F9 and didn’t think it was anything special! I think the speedzone MIGHT be better than the F9 but wont be changing! The SZ v F9 comparison would be interesting!

Ahh how the subconscious really controls everything. Gameable numbers are still good but a definite difference when hitting range to gaming shots. Nice addition to the test

I recall that your main issue with the F9 was that you often hit high toe (I do too), and you saw a fair amount of distance lost. It appears that the Cobra SZ does not have this fault. I do like your nice consistent swing, and ability to work the ball on demand (something many reviewers can not do). Thanks.

Matt, you are correct and I have edited my comment accordingly. Went back to his 13mm high and 13 mm toe shot and indeed there was no lose of distance. Somehow I confused it with the 254 carry shot.

Would like to see it compared to a TS2 as this is my club. Most of us want the club we can get the best results from and some comparison testing with Mr Metronomes steady swing would at least show us if it could potentially be a better club in whatever form that would represent to the viewer.

I have 1 problem with the Arccos... I rarely want to use the grip that comes with the driver... and I can't just put it inside a new grip. I like to use a midsize MC ALIGN grip.
