6:52 - For the record, Nina actually isn't any younger than Lelouch, Kallen or Suzaku. She's 18 in R2. She's just petite, especially compared to what is common for the female characters in this show. The thing with the empress is decidedly messed up though. There's no official age listed for her, but it's pretty apparent how young she likely is. Abd Odysseyus is 32.

I would suggest reviewing the chess match. Before Schenizel broke the Chess rules, they were in line for a draw, with neither side being able to win. Lelouch was willing to call it a draw, but Schenizel then made his move, changing the conditions a win or lose. Lelouch could have taken the king, but it would have been on Schenizel's terms, not his. In war, when the loser dictates the terms of victory, the victory itself becomes Hollow, devoid of meaning since you didn't win out of your own power. Lelouch might have been acting out of pride but he knew that giving in was the same as losing. Drawing out the battle to get a more definitive outcome was his choice. Also, don't miss Schenizel's choice. He chose to take a loss if he had no chance of victory... so long as it was on his terms. The Chess game revealed the truth about both players, not just Lelouch. Lelouch will not accept victory unless it'd won on his terms, and Schenizel will not accept defeat except on his terms. The battle between these two will not be an easy one.

I love all your commentary about Nina and I feel like you guys are very on point I do just want to say I think there's a pretty interesting story being told about Millie that Nina has a point about. Millie is the class president and has this natural superiority about her, but she kind of lets her life be completely controlled and doesn't make any decisions for herself or look out for herself. So that superiority is definitely a front that she puts on. I love how a lot of these minor characters have a lot of development that's not necessarily front and center on screen. Edit: another character like this is Ogi, you often hear him talking about someone named Naoto, idk if you guys have put together who that is. It has something to do with the red headbands worn by the original terrorist group Ogi led. 😉

It's implied Nina had some sort of traumatic experience with the Japanese. But whether it's sa, regular a or something else we don't know. As for Nina and Kallen, well Kallen does work for the person that kill Euphie so she does have a legit gripe there. The Odyseus , Empress marriage doesn't seem to have any sexual aspects. He doesn't have those kind of goals. Likely he was chosen because he's seen as a useless incompetent figurehead of a prince, kinda like the Empress.

Yes the reason why zero refused to take the win that was given to him wasn’t out of fear it was out of pride. He didn’t want to seem weak by taking the handout win given to him and in refusing to win the game Schneizel got insight into his character on will he take a win given to him or will he refuse out of pride. zero played right into his hands now Schneizel knows that he can exploit that weakness later down the line.

Suzaku isn't at peace after saving a million lives because that's not how he wanted to save them. Remember what he said when the million Zeroes first appeared. He called it a "dirty way to do it." He's not thinking about what a wonderful thing he did in stopping another massacre, he's just angry at Zero for putting him in the position where he had to make that choice to begin with. Season 2 episode 8 was where I actually lost a lot of respect for Suzaku, because that's where he proved that he's opposed to any and all resistance against Britannia, even 100% nonviolent resistance. He wants to save the people himself his own way, and to hell with what every other Japanese person thinks or wants. Whether he was always this way or the trauma of losing Euphie made him this way is unknown, but Lelouch was onto something when he said Suzaku was leading the masses towards a future determined solely by Suzaku's egotism.

Have never hated a character more then nina. She is brilliantly put in the middle of a cast of likeable characters at ashford to highlight the deeply ingrained casual hatred and rasism that plages britanina it makes it feel so much more real wich only makes her more hateable.
