I've had VAGCOM or VCDS as it's called now, for almost 20 years. But this thing is pretty easy to use it seems like. The only thing I didn't like about this video, was that your MIC is so close to your throat, that it's crappy having to hear you swallow your saliva each and every time..
Does your B9 S4 have dash lights that remain ON during the day without turning on the headlights? My B8.5 S4 does not have dash lights unless I turn on the parking/headlights during the day. The reason why this is annoying is because during bright sunlight daytime driving, wearing sunglasses, the dash gauges, speedo & tach, are not legible!!! Maybe this can be changed by the OBDEleven?!!
@@AlsoAndrew I have a B5S4 and that car doesn't have this problem! I'm going to sell this B8...Audi really messed up on this one!!! Pretty amazing that Audi didn't think this through as people drive all the time in bright sunlight with sunglasses, even polarized ones, and not having the dash backlit makes it impossible to read the instruments!
@@LWRC I believe the Germans have viewed it more recently as a way to remind people to turn their headlights on at night. Most Asian automakers still keep them backlit, which is partly why you see so many Rogues or Hyundais driving around with just DRLs. But yes, it can be annoying!
@@AlsoAndrew Of course. That's a primary reason but on my B5, when you turn on the headlights, there is a dim bulb symbol that is turned on and shows on the dash that your headlights are on. Since the instrument cluster is lit all the time, you can't use that as guidance. And the B5 does not have DRLs! This is what happens when government or manufacturers get involved and people just get dumber by the year. We have cars now that can parallel park - how many do you know who can actually do that without automation assist??!!!
So does all the changes go back to default if you take the device out ? Also, let’s say I spent 10 credits on something do I need to keep spending 10 credits on that same function as time goes on ? Finally, What’s the best one to get if I was not to go for the pro version ?
Once you save the change (and pay the credits), the changes are permanent unless your car's computer is replaced/reflashed by an Audi service technician. The credits you spend to make a change are a one-time cost, you do not need to keep spending credits to keep the new feature.
Nice video. Just picked up a 2017 a4 Allroad w/start/stop. This requires a start/stop battery. At 6 years old I’m thinking I need to change out the battery. I’m reading that the battery code needs to reset when I change it out. Does do the recode?
@@AlsoAndrew typically I like them, but with mild window tints and driving at night they get too dark. I would rather have that feature off or adjust how dark they get.
