It's still wild seeing WWE superstars on the ESPN platform. I remember being a kid during the height of the Attitude Era and WCW wars and never in my life did I think ESPN would acknowledge pro wrestling. Pretty awesome to see.
its only few short interviews a year, and only because of the ufc merger. but its still considered a low brow entertainment. you wont see a wrestling time-slot on espn.
I’m 33, haven’t watched WWE in 20 years, but the Rock is my all time fav-Crazy how life works, cool to see Rhodes hit his stride so many years in given his pedigree/father
I’m impressed with how Cody conducts himself. He conducts himself like he knows he is supposed to be there, like he’s done it before. Right now he has an aura of success.
The lie he continues to tell makes him a heel to me. We already know Rock was set to face Roman We already know from Punk himself he was set to face Seth. Cody put a face on to his fans after agreeing to let the matches long planned go on. He then Made fans believe The Rock stole his match. That's dirty and that's a heel. Even after it was shown The Rock was planned ahead of Rumble and Cody was not the one planned he still on here lying. Not good for a so called Babyface and it's a heel move story wise when you lie and disrespect your boss like that
@@PBLightning145I think it’s going to be a good show, the card is stacked, and we’ll see what happens in Night Two if Cody finishes his story….under Bloodline rules.
WWE is hot right now. Red hot. Even old fans are paying attention now who stopped watching years ago. Welcome back guys. With Vince gone, things have gotten so much better. Hopefully you stick around after WrestleMania
Vince needed to go. Knowing that he’s gone is probably drawing more fans back to the product, just out of mere curiosity to see how different things are.
Cody Rhodes is the man, so well spoken, likable, humble, love his chill vibe, happy to see him on First Take on ESPN. WrestleMania 40 is about to be epic. 😊
Cody Rhodes is the definition of an underdog. Having a middling career in WWE in the early 2010s and seeing where he is now, it is genuinely inspiring. The fact that Cody Rhodes is in the ring with the Rock! The irony is not lost on me that this WM is in Philadelphia. Cody really channeling Rocky.
The tragedy is that Cody was a great in ring performer but WWE just failed to give him the edge he needed you know like the look and what could put him over like his in ring work has always been top notch it was just everything else so it was awesome how he left and help start AEW and just thrived there and got to do what he wanted and look how great it worked he’s been back in the WWE and he’s just continued his rampage dude is riding the lightning right now 🤌
@@rafaellima8996 naw bruh TNA and NJPW saved his career bruh he became a big deal before AEW was created he helped created AEW after his star power sky rocketed in TNA and NJPW
Ye I know roman reigns will be laughing all the way to next year as champion I know someone that knows someone who works with wwe he claims reigns is retaining due to a betrayal and it's not seth or jey
@@chiefskingdom_24 blah blah blah he’s still the biggest draw in wrestling when he shows up. And this time he’s on the board of directors of something. I don’t think he needs to main event everything but I’ve heard that it was stipulated he would have to participate after signing that deal. The hierarchy knows he fills sits and they needed him to do so. Don’t be a hater
@@grishawinner6727 he doesn’t need to main event everything, the rock is one of the greatest of all time. However he screwed Cody out of the main event until the fans revolted against it and the wwe changed it back
He is right. It’s not easy being a good guy when all the cool points tend to go to the bad guys. But the fans stuck with them and a lot of the ones who were on the fence joined his side when his match was taken away from him temporarily. He has to win.
@@LanceG007Because he is, The Rock!! He’s probably the most famous person on earth of course he’s going to get cheered!! They been doing this since the Hollywood Rock Gimmick it don’t matter if he is a heel or Face he’s gonna get cheered because he is the rock
Cody toes the line of real and kayfabe so perfectly. These segments on first take can often be a little cringe with wrestlers but he doesn’t feel out of place at all.
I’m glad Cody told Stephen A he didn’t wanna say too many positive things lol. He literally said he watched the Rock slap him and asking if it’s great that the Rock came back. Bruh NO the dude slapped me
The bloodline story does not end here. 😂 Cody will lose and challenge Seth and beat Seth for the workman’s championship. Roman will hold that title until he breaks the record. Y’all clearly gotta see the set up a mile away. Seth takes a break after dropping the title at summer slam. Cm punk, Rhodes, drew Mc, start battling on a regular for that title on Raw.
“Yes sir we promised you a great main event.. ANDRE THE GIANT, Wrestlemania!! Hulkamania, IF YA SMEEEEEEEEEEELLL YOU'RE FIIIIREEEEEED!!!!! *GLASS BREAKS* dun dun dunnnnn”
Love Cody unlike John Cena he has the fans on his side as the companies baby face, what I wouldn't give to see Golddust help him out at Wrestlemania and deliver the shattered dreams to The Rock!
Awesome clip. Cody is so natural, and Steven A knows old school WWF. Big weekend with WrestleMania forty. Cody to Win and finish / start his story. Lets Go!
Two key things: Put's his Mom over in a big way and differentiate's himself from his father!! Said he had to leave home to be treated like an adult! Respect wasn't given so he earned it.
If there is one place you don't want an outrageous explosion to take place in, it's PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA!! If this event does not end "the right way", the Universe might witness something unlike anything they've ever seen before...😲😲You don't want to try to diffuse a "blazing fire" in the midst of a PISSED OFF PHILADELPHIA CROWD😡🤬🤬 IT'S A DANGEROUS DANGEROUS THING....!!🤯💯💯
@@WindyCitySteam You are absolutely right; and the reason you're feeling this is because you are seeing the way this event was completely turned around and because of the switch this event has become the talk of the town again at the fever's pitch!!🤯🤯At the same time tho, this also means this weekend means absolutely EVERYTHING to the wrestling world_ WWE has got to end this event "the right way"; If they don't land this plane correctly, this can lead to an all-time drop-off in viewership as well as ticket sales cuz this could lead to a vicious backlash of EPIC PROPORTIONS...!!😲😲 We'll see what ultimately happens, but the higher-ups are playing with some serious fire right now....😳😳 DON'T SCREW THIS ONE UP!!!🤨🤨🧐🧐🧐
Love these kind of interviews on the ESPN and that an element of kayfabe is preserved. You can tell Stephen A. is a big wrestling fan and the respect he has for the performers and the business. Stephen A would have made a great old-school manager
Bro went from not being able to compete for the AEW title and being booed as a face , to coming to WWE main eventing 3 times in two years wm and possible being the guy to dethrone the most dominant champ in the last 50 years ya safe to say he definitely did the right thing coming back to WWE
Been a Cody Rhodes fan since his bad guy dashing persona way back and with DiBiase kid in tag team. Always loved the bad guy persona for entertainment value, but good to see he proved his point of being top shelf talent and those clowns at WWE finally recognized that Rhodes is Top Shelf. Very Cool Dude.
