I swear I've done this. I bump my head with a hardhat on 100x's more than I would without a hardhat. It's crazy how our brains have adjusted to be pretty accurate at moving around and not bumping our heads...yet you add another inch or so on each side by wearing a hardhat...and you bump into everything lol
@@theCodyReeder Is there a list of which videos these are from? Sadly I haven't gotten around to watching enough of your vids to distinguish the originals...
@@DraconicDuelist I'm afraid a few of them might be private/unlisted or even deleted now, like the 1:38 one for example. Cody even named it "boom oil" rather than its proper name out of precaution. It's a pity that youtube went down so hard on those types of videos even without showing the full process to make things that can go boom, I think that policy claimed the gunpowder from urine series as well.
Well Electroboom does almost all of his "Accidents" on Purpose to entertain Viewers and educate about Electric Dangers. The few Times Things actually went wrong it either hurt so bad that any Reaction other than screaming would require some superhuman Pain Tolerance (e.g. dropping a Jacob's Ladder onto his Lap) or he went silent too. Purposly hurting yourself with High Voltage and staying chill like nothing is gonna happen while about to do it still requires some Balls tho.
i was surprised to see him hit the rock. i've never seen him like that before. he doesn't seem like the type. i guess he didn't have a pillow to scream into. 😅😅 it's not that i don't understand it, i was like that at 15, and really did break my hand, and on a different occasion some drywall. but i really didn't expect that from cody, especially since that vid is quite recent. i guess doing youtube can be a really stressful career though, especially when the algorithm is god and you have deadlines to meet. hope he's feeling in a better place now
Hi, How are you? Safe. Right. That’s why the EU has banned mercury amalgam fillings for people under the age of 15. It still leeches Mercury, just quickly.
mercury doesn't absorb through the stomach or skin very well. its very toxic but it really isn't as bad as people believe. i've even ingested mercury from a switch at a young age and suffered no effects. Mercury vapor is waaaay more easily absorbed through the lungs. that's where it really kills you. There is more fear surrounding it than logical facts.
loved the put gloves on both hands one .....done that many a time ..... and yes don't ever punch a rock....the rock will win every time...nice vid my friend ....Happy New Year
Cody'sLab Is there any particular reason you prefer to do most of the work yourself? I do video editing myself and it's always struck me as a little odd that you haven't hired an editor.
S1L3nT ah yes and 2001 was the millennium🤦♂️ no that’s not how we do things, even if you may hypothetically be right with numbers tradition says otherwise. Edit: I just thought about it. No we did not start with the year one. There was a time where it was 0. Then .10, .20, .30, .40.... even if we broke it down to numbers you are wrong. I’ve seen a lot of people say “DeR iTs NoT a NeW dEcAdE” and it’s really starting to piss me off. All you are doing is spreading misinformation about something that should be easy to figure out with a first grade education level. Stop it, get some help.
@@itskidkelly nope, since the calendar starts counting BEFORE it was made, (made in the year 300-ish) and starts with the birth of Jesus (even if just theoretical) as the year "1", we do start at the year 1, and its not a new decade technically. But then again, its only a technicality.
@@gieromguy_does_nothing_pro8458 He slipped on butter a while back and scraped nearly his whole arm on a step-stool on the way down, resulting in a massive dry-burn rash sorta thing lol.
@@falconsspark2991 They're still out there floating around. You think people don't archive every video Cody puts out in case RU-vid pulls the plug on his channel?
@@DarkSlayer9587 Looks to be Chicken Hole Base episode 6: Diamond Chainsaw. And yeah, that video Cody does a lot of heavy lifting and it can be really frustrating if something goes wrong.
@@Hjylps I'm like 100% sure that was around the time him and his Kenya broke up, and when he was out there trying to do something to keep his mind off her he got frustrated about something and he was already on edge, was a girl he loved and probably the same girl that he lost his virginity too and he was frustrated.
Yep. Pretty much how I handle problems and mistakes as well. Stop regroup and figure out what went wrong and how to fix or do it better. I have a guy at work that will start yelling, cussing and throwing tools at the walls like a child having a fit and I just look at him and shake my head thinking "How is that going to solve your problem you dumb Sh**." :)
@@kamdenmcleanmusic Several videos had to be taken down. Some contained explosives and the making of, some involved handling quite radioactive materials...and many many more interresting stuff. Unfortunately some youtube sissies false flagged it , or the crappy AI just flagged it and in one case some authorities from bureau for nuclear safety just stepped in. Nothing illegal and dangerous, if caried out propperly...but PooTube is just PooTube.
Everybody agrees that Cody’s content its the most pure, raw, and interesting on RU-vid ? Because I think so ! Awesome how much you can do , much better and awesome Content than those super rich channels
Here's one I've learned once and then forgotten once: Always anneal a sterling silver ring shank before clamping and soldering the end together. Work hardened ring shanks when under stress and then heated _will_ explode. Also yes, hot metal doesn't always look hot. _Always_ know where your barbed wire is. And don't hit it with your arm when cleaning debris off your pig blocking grill during irrigation when the water knocks you over. Don't torque your drill bit sideways while drilling through metal. If you do, make sure your hand isn't where you can drill into a knuckle with a broken drill bit. Oh the wonderful scars we adventurous folks have. Loved the video, Cody. Glad you're mostly ok.
Hey Cody, thanks for going through everything you've done and for everything g you'll continue to go through. I love your content. The majority (okay, all of it) of your videos are content much higher teir then my education; but I really enjoy learning what I can grasp and hearing you talk about how fascinating everything can be. Thanks!
Lovely stuff Cody. I think it is good to acknowledge and record our misadventures. Your mostly calm reactions suggest that you would be a good person be beside during a crisis. I hope this new year is joyful and productive for you.
Oh my goodness! I hear your voice and see what you are doing and it is like looking at myself on video! Cody; these are priceless! Thanks for sharing them instead of just deleting them!
@@bryanl1984 I'd bet less than my dad... guy almost lost several fingers several times in incidents involving a table saw (the same one each time btw) but always came out with all 10. you want something scary, go look at the death machine that is a table saw. anyone who works will one and values their fingers will tell you they're terrifying. you definitely don't need explosives to loose fingers, and I'd say that due to the skill ceiling involved anyone who deals with explosives is at much less risk..,.
@@kingjames4886 Yes. I remember on physicsforums they'd be laying down all these warning and proscriptions about how-to-build scientific instruments involving glass tubing, high-voltages, mercury, etc. They wouldn't permit plans and directions for such things. HelI's bells, the machinery you build a DIY X-ray machine with can be far more dangerous than the X-rays. For the short time someone would actually _use_ an X-ray machine, they'll certainly be able to focus on safety, and they certainly _would_ . You get lax around a table-saw. You can't find the push-stick? Well for now just poke it along carefully... Had a friend with the missing tip of forefinger. And his workshop was festooned with wiring, electric motors, cobwebs and fine sawdust in the cobwebs. And he was a smoker. Cigarette butts all over the place...
@@Stratocaster893 why do people say that? She seems to be a good girl, and so does Cody. Even if I, and probably most of the people commenting here, only know them from his videos 🙂
Those little silences after an accident, with Cody contemplating what just happened, are pure gold. Love you dude, can’t wait to see what you’re going to put out there in 2020.
I don’t comment at all really but showing off your mistakes is an excellent way of reviewing! I love your content and hope you continue through the new year (and I hope your hand isn’t too broken!) Be safe there now! And thank everything for that hard hat!
Its nice to know that, all this crazy stuffs you do, even knowing that is a hard content to make, you must know the failings of it, thanks for sharing! We support you and all!
Cody, Thank you for posting this video!. The mistakes are very important, we both know this. Thank you for sharing so that others can learn what not to do. One of the biggest lessons is learning another way in which it will not work. Although these videos are failure's they all contributed to great success.
I don't know what is more amazing: the content of your channel, or the fact that you don't swear whenever you have a setback. I do hobby chemistry (inspired in part from your videos) and when stuff boils over or explodes, its not nearly as kid-friendly around my place. Thanks for sharing these moments, so that we hobbyists don't feel like we are the only ones that have setbacks.
@@KevinLarsson42 "Slashing"? Lol, that's cute. Go watch the nitroglycerin video again. (If he hadn't taken it down.) It's hardly a slash. More of an explosion.
Awww boy why am I so pleased to see this? When you wanna try out some experiment something has to go wrong and these moments really take their toll for a second. just goes to show natural philosophy is pure pain, camouflaged in curiosity and some times, just some times after pure pain there is a nugget of absolute wonder that takes all the pain away. thanks for sharing.
If everything worked like we expected it to life would be boring and dull... You may have made a few blunders but the information, experience and education that you both gained and shared to us all is priceless! Be safe and keep going Cody. You are an impressive person indeed!
6:11 I felt really bad for him (or, you) here, I never see him angry and i know he's a human being so it's not like he doesn't get angry or something );
Don't know, I've never seen it but it looks new so it might have been scrap. I don't think he likes to show himself being angry or sad- in fact all i've personally seen of the two aforementioned emotions were in a video he planned and this single clip.

Hey Cody, I’ve been a fan for years, I’ve had multiple different accounts and I followed you on every one, super proud to see you grow from when I subscribed (around 5,000 subs) to almost 2 million! Keep up the good work, and you can only learn from all your mistake!

3:39 I cringed as soon as I saw you washing dishes. I almost lost my right thumb to a breaking plate and I get flashbacks to that shit every time I wash a plate now.
@@apocalypticpioneers2116 been there, cut my thumb to the bone from a cracked ceramic plate that I was washing. Never again will I wash or keep a chipped plate that could develop into a crack... Expensive and painful lesson.
@@jkenny1 Thankfully I was young and had insurance that covered it, but that shit hurt so much. It cut off a nerve and any time I bumped the bottom of the cut, it would send shooting pains up the thumb. It has since healed, for a few years now, but I'm still really leary about touching it.
I feel like this is a like a little digital flip book of advice. Like, the text is on the left of the book and the video is on the right, and each page is a new tip.
