Diarrhea is a common symptom of celiac, but constipation is how this disease presents itself in many celiacs.

Which is why many of us go undiagnosed. We get told to eat more fibre, which makes things worse. A horrid cycle indeed.

@@rses916 YOU have to go paleo. That is it. I eat cheese tho since I am not allergic. I am allergic to a lot of veggies, fruits, and legumes, and birds/chicken /turkey . I only eat beef , cheese, coconut water /oil/meat. blueberries, watermelon, advocados, almonds, almond bread, potatos and sweet potatos, almond butter, bananas, eggs. that is it!! and sea salt!! And i only drink zero water. It takes out all chemicals. I eat four things 3 times per day and it is working for me. I will eat beef/cheese, watermelon, potato, almond bread. for ea meal but will switch it up a bit with the above foods. good luck

Since I was diagnosed with Celiac I have been overwhelmed with how much differing information there is. On most Celiac websites it say you can have corn, rice and millet products and they are safe but now I am seeing all of these other people saying that it's not true and you should avoid all of those and dairy products. It gets to the point where you start saying "WTF can I eat then?"

I would just start eating gluten free. I’m awaiting results of biopsy’s and blood. So far the scope of my stomach and small intestine look like celiac so the rest is just for confirmation. I let it get to the point of feeling really really horrible. It was when an Aunty I love dearly this past summer was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer that pushed me to go and find out what’s happening in my body. I lost my mom (she was 61) to esophageal cancer so I’m really convinced after reading about this disease that she had it and wasn’t diagnosed. Hopefully you can get some relief 💜

my son, three years old, first had the antibody test which showed an elevated level of antibodies. to be very sure, the doctor ordered HLA DQ2 gene test which also came out positive. biopsy would've been unsuitable for a three year old. now he's on gluten free diet and the symptoms are slowly fading away. surprising to see that none of the videos about celiac disease are mentioning the HLA DQ 2 test

I haven't been officially diagnosed with celiac or gluten intolerance (yet) because I haven't gone in for tests, but when I cut gluten out a couple months ago, I noticed the following changes within two weeks: - No more brain fog or racing thoughts. Before going GF I had songs playing, thoughts running, etc in my head 24/7. - Chronic skin rashes disappeared within days - Fatigue decreased, but my energy levels still aren't great - Old digestion issues went away. I'm dealing with new ones now because of low fiber from GF, but working on finding a balance. - I stopped getting clogged ears (I'd started getting chronic ear infections as an adult, none as a kid) - I'm no longer taking Advil to deal with the chronic inflammation that was keeping me from thinking clearly - I lost 12 pounds in the first week, returning to my regular weight. That was one of the most shocking changes. I didn't realize I was losing weight, though I was extremely hungry for the first couple of days. I thought the scale was broken! It was like my body just yeeted the weight that wasn't supposed to be on it. - My hair, which was brittle and shedding, is starting to get healthier (with added protein too). - I hope I've saved my teeth from further damage. They've been damaged, and I think at least some of that damage is from gluten. I hope this helps anyone else who has similar symptoms!

I was scoped and blood work 8 years ago and the doctor said that he thought he saw something but diagnosed me NCGS- I went to a doctor just in May of this year dealing with waking up with diarrhea, bloating, typical GI symptoms but my wake up call was vitamin deficiency for years! B12 and D were basically non existent. The new doctor said that if he scoped me 8 years Ago, he would have diagnosed me with celiac- severe damage. My grandmother also died of colon cancer about 10 years ago and we are all convinced she may have had celiac. Don’t mess with celiac!

@@CoonCid Oh I have a screwed up limbic system. NO stupid doc knows shit about it. I only went to her just for shits and grins just to see what N Ds are all about. Most are quacks. But the saliva test FOUND celiacs disease. Oh the symptoms are horrid. Throwing up etc etc. YOU wanna die!!!! Just to let you know if you have celiacs it is commong to become allegic to all grains and a million foods, fruits veggies legumes etc etc. I ONLY eat 12 things. That is it. Because of my MCS i am still have allergice reactions daily. But IT will heal. IT takes a long time when you disrupt your limbic system to bring about MCS. It is a mystery illness. I just figured all this out that the cause is a screwed up limbic system a few months ago. You have to retrain your brain. Rewire your brain. I eat 12 things and i don't introduce any thing new and i don't have any reactions anymore by ingesting. Corn and rice are the big allergens once you become celiacs.

3:20 Well, that wouldn't be a quick process. The intestine heals slowly, most of us heal after diagnosis for 1-2 years because of severe villi damage. You'd have to be completely GF, healed. Then eat gluten and likely want to die for a while, then get retested. I can see why drs don't do that.

Hi, don’t know if you’ll see this or not but I haven’t actually been diagnosed yet. I got referred by my rheumatologist as my liver enzyme ALT has been elevated about 120 for a year. The hepatologist sent off blood tests and they came back today. The ALT still 144. TGG IGA: normal range is 0-19 and mine is 4956. So extremely high. Endomysial IGA AB: positive. I have been diagnosed previously with Ankylosing spondylitis and Functional Neurological Disorder. But haven’t responded to any treatment. I haven’t seen my doctor yet but I am trying to understand my results. I never have stomach or bowel problems ever. I always eat pretty much what I want and never have an issue with anything. Is it possible to have something else other than coeliac disease and have those results?

Oats contain avenin, which is a protein similar to gluten. However, research has shown that most people with coeliac disease can safely eat avenin. Problems can occur if oats are produced in the same place as wheat, barley and rye, as the oats can become contaminated with these other grains.
@MKlukowski
@MKlukowski 6 лет назад
Avenin is the 'gliadin of oats', avenalin is the 'glutenin of oats'. Gluten is more-or-less gliadin+glutenin, so in a similar fashion avenin+avenalin would make a gluten-like complex for oats.
