Repairing and small coffee maker I had at home that I was about to throw in the garbage. Got it back working by just changing the Fuse after doing a series of troubleshooting and testing.
Man, you should clean that thing up a bit, lol, but all things considered, you did a phenomenal job at making a coffee maker repair video. Explaining and showing everything along the way. Good stuff.
Great troubleshooting video, thank you! These cheap coffee makers die every couple of years.. wish the fuse was easier to replace than buying a new coffee maker!
enjoyed the video. I have a defective switch on my coffee maker. it is also a 3 prong rocker switch. can you please tell me which wires to connect to bypass the switch. we will be operating the coffee maker off of a switched plug until I can get a new rocker switch. ty
Mine triggers the circuit breaker without destroying ceramic thingies. When I test for contuinity on the 2 poles of the plug of the power chord itself, I dont hear anything even if the start button is ON. All otherr contuniuty tests are ok. Is it the power chord?
Hi this is very helpful. The only thing I don't understand is how to test the switch. You mean blue and negative should always has continuity? I am suspecting this is the issue of my coffee maker.
Hi, Great video. I have a Bonavita coffee maker. There are two of the fuses like you replaced that seem to be blown. But there is also what looks like a "flow meter/flow sensor" or something. Do you know how to tell if something like that is blown? I can't find the part via search. The light doesn't go on when I touch the two prongs with a continuity tester. The part says 120VAC/15A Pmax 0,5bar and what looks like a part number 2200208 6892; but I can't find anything on it. Thanks!
If the thermo fuse keeps blowing, it could mean that the thermostat is not opening the circuit at the proper temperature. It's allowing the heating device to get too hot, thus blowing the fuse. Maybe should also replace the thermostat.
Hi dear. Thanks for the video. I have a similar coffee machine. It looks the same inside. The only difference is the power button. In my machine, a toggle switch connected to a small board which is used to set a timer for it to start at a certain time. The machine doesn't start. Last night, there was an electricity outage and fluctuation in our area causing multiple electricity trips in my house. This probably caused the problem in the coffee machine. Which part of the machine is very likely to get damaged because of such incidents? How can I fix it?
Thanks for this thorough explanation, sir. I have one like her that takes out a small amount of water and then stops working and I turn it on after it cools down. What is the reason in your opinion
The hose, leading from water tank to heating plate, has a ball in it, to stop heated water's backflowing into the water tank, once it's been heated. That little ball in the tubing can become covered with minerals from the water and no longer float within the tube. a) you can take the bottom off, remove the hose and clean it out and reinstall it, or b) first try 50/50 of vinegar and water in the water tank, turn it on to move the solution through the hose - rinse with fresh tank of water afterwards. Coffee makers recommend vinegar/water cleaning the machine on a regular basis, to prevent what you're experiencing.
Hello there. This vid came up after I searched for “ why I don’t get out the same amount of liquid I put in the reservoir”. This four cup mrCoffee gets cleaned regularly with vinegar but, less and less coffee gets brewed for the same amount of water. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you..
I know this comment is already 9 months old but inside the tubes theres a ball valve that usually clogs up, you can try opening the coffee maker taking the tube out and cleaning the tube (if you take out the valve note down the direction it was so it wont block any water from passing)
@@vitors9198 , thanks...I tried everything when I took it apart. Nothing was plugged but I cleaned the tubes anyway. I put everything back after inspection and I just add more water as it's needed to fill with the brew. Annoying as hell but...I don't like throwing plastic items unless completely useless.
Mine had a weird screw head, but I found a multi tool (115-in-1) screw kit on Amazon that had the bit: U 2.6, U 3.0 or U 8. Looks like a 2 prong common head.
