It's my understanding that McDonald's coffee uses the coffee bean that Tim Horton's used to have. Which makes sense as to why so many Canadians switched to McDonalds.
That's close, but not quite correct. Tim Horton's created their own in house coffee roaster and implemented an internal supply chain in order to save money. Because Tim Horton's now roast and blends from scratch, it's nearly impossible to match the original flavor, since they're not sourcing the original beans. Mcdonald's, seeing all the production that suddenly became available, started buying coffee from the same blender (Mother Parkers) that Tim's used to buy from. It's not, however, the exact formula, but is probably pretty close. Unfortunately, Tim Horton's coffee has not managed to figure out how to make good coffee on their own. Burger King is/was owned by the same parent company as Tim Horton's. They may have shared coffee suppliers to save a bit of money, but that's is Burger King bringing on Tim Horton's coffee, not the other way around, and presumably, Burger King does not serve it anymore either (I rarely go to Burger King, they're few and far between in western Canada). Tim Horton's used the same original blend from at least 1974, probably earlier (I couldn't find a date, other than that Tim Horton was an active NHL player when they started serving the coffee) Here is a link to an article: www.thestar.com/business/2018/01/12/time-for-the-tims-sides-to-sit-down-over-a-coffee.html
its so weird ppl always say canadians r really nice ppl but me from toronto i have heard more bad customer service complaints at tim hortons compared to starbucks
I find cities such as Toronto, vancouver, edmonton and the rest are basically american when it comes to the culture, lifestyle, economy and how they function. Large towns, small cities and small towns represent Canada the best when it comes to the stereotype.
McDonald’s coffee in Canada is supplied by Mother Parker’s, who used to supply Tim Horton’s, until Tim Horton’s built their own roasting facility. My brother works at Mother Parkers.
Tims needs to get with the times and change there lids, come on Tim’s you can do better. Everyone I know is drinking McDonald’s and Starbucks now. Better coffee, cheaper and better cups. I miss my old Timmy’s. but my clean car doesn’t lol
I personally like the lids as they spill less and are closer to McDonald's lids. However I agree with you with the cups as they aren't insulated which results in coffee getting colder faster and hot hands. If they change cups people won't need sleeves, double cupping and the cups wouldn't get instantly soggy the moment any liquid touches the outside.
This is the new era of commercialism! Make a comparison video with your product VS your rivals, make sure your product gets the most good reviews, make it look like genuine and independent as much as possible
I live in Canada and noticed some Tim coffee stores taste different than the others. So I just go to the stores that I like and avoid to go others. However, during summer, Tim's ice cap is very liquidy. I guess their machines can't make enough of ice. Please fix them
For me it's hands-down 😙 McCafe 👍... It's a much smoother coffee flavor then Tim👎 Hortons... The cups are better... insulated, the lids easier to drink out of... And the bonus you get stickers ... 7 and you get a free coffee👍😁
i like mcdonald’s coffee better, but i wanted to support my own nation’s company, so that’s why i used to get tim hortons, but mcdonald’s just test better.
Maclean’s video is not correct tim horton’s is still Canada’s favourite coffee in the world Maclean’s video is a lie and his video is lying to both of you guys
IMO if you're one of those who like to load up coffee with sugar, creme, hazelnut, mint, ect,you should not be asked to test coffee. And testing/tasting is all relative. Why would anyone drink these coffees when there are so many more better coffees out there? And also,a person who drinks light/blonde/barely coffees will probably not like dark roast coffee and vice versa.
McDonald's twins hands down there's no comparison in the service and the quality is equal or superior when it comes to coffee and when it comes to service so McDonald's beats the c*** out of them Their suites are just as good and it doesn't take a half an hour to get a coffee in a donut there And cheaper
Burger King makes terrible coffee. Tim Hortons coffee is actually Burger King coffee. McDonald’s now uses the supplier that Tim Hortons used to use. So if you miss that good old Timmy’s from before 2014 when Timmy’s was actually a Canadian company, get your coffee at McDonald’s. Cheers.
Tim's and McDonalds are both good. Second Cup and Java Moose are better, but Second Cup is pricey so only worth it if you go in and loiter for at least 3 hours, which they don't seem to mind. Starbucks sucks.
McDonald's smoothie vs Tim's smoothie is definitely McDonald's because Tim's probably just puts flavored powder into water because it feels like water and tastes like it was made a hour ago. McDonald's smoothie is thick and has flavor and you can see the seeds from the fruit, definitely McDonalds.
You know what? I have been working in McCoffe for 1 year and they didnt teach us to make a great coffe, no cream on latte, just bubbles. The tamper McDonalds have is trash, u cant press the coffee right and all the grains are not compresed in order to do a good extraction, so u are drinking dirty water instead of coffe. Two years ago i decided to leave McDonalds and get another Coffe job in order to learn more about coffe, they teach me a lot of thing. This year i have come back to Mc Donalds and i have see all the errors that they teached us. First of all they NEVER clean the Coffe machine correctly, they NEVER clean the coffe holder, so u are drinking some grains for two weeks, two month, two years, who nows. That's horrible.
Tim Horton's coffee gets cold faster than the Mc Donalds coffee. But it tastes better. Mc Donalds coffee takes a while for it to cool down. But it tastes weird.
