Our beliefs form our world. If we have the wrong beliefs, that we develop through either nature or nurture, we could end up with a bad life. Reframing these beliefs is one of the key tenants of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and can help us reframe what happens to us so it's in our benefit.
What happens to us isn't so important when compared with how we decipher what happens to us. This video will dive into ways that we can REFRAME our beliefs so they give us the best possible road map to success. Reframe negatives into positives and reframe limiting beliefs into ones that help us push passed our road blocks. This video will help you understand that further.

What are some negative things that you tell yourself, that you need to reframe to be positive?

Excellent question. Let's reframe all negative thoughts. So much to reframe and free ourselves from. On the other side of positively reframing is empowerment. Love this question.

There's also the subconcious stuff. I'm not sure how much influence there is consciously on that part over time, but it is signifikant enough to be able to apply the tools from CBT and DBT to fix something.. But there is a better thing. We don't have to cope consciously that hard. There is always a fundamental part in us that is working hard to normalize any kind of consciously held, disstressing believes we might have. It is active every time we prey, meditate or sleep well enough. If we just put more time for that in our lives, everything becomes a lot less disstressing aka the mental disorders become more managable. Just think of that.. only a bit more of that.. and we can reduce anxiety.

It really pisses me off how people think this is so damn easy. I've been trying to reframe my negative thinking for YEARS and it's just not possible! You are LITERALLY telling a person like me to just jump and pretend like gravity doesn't exist. This advice is for people having a hard day. It's not real for people who have actually been told they are shit their whole lives.

@@JeffreyMarr I used to lift regularly (5x a week), but I was still depressed. I am older and on meds now. Also in therapy. I've heard that lifting is good, and especially for my blood type, so maybe it is an option. The problem (for me) is that a perspective change doesn't take away the pain. If your hand gets cut off, no amount of perspective takes the pain away. I can't gaslight myself into thinking a severed limb feels like panda cuddles. I'm emotionally hurt because of my past. It's not how I think about it. It's the pain of what happened, and the pain of how it impacts the rest of my life. I see it this way: No one naturally feels joy when rejected. The immediate feeling is pain. Evolutionarily speaking, a perspective change is a rather new human development that is not inherent and must be learned. No matter how hard anyone tries, it's gonna hurt if your hand gets cut off. Emotionally, my hand was cut off and continues to get cut daily. How do I make THAT pain stop? Also, I've burdened MANY people with these issues. Please do not feel any pressure to respond to my ranting. I appreciate the fact that you are out here uploading positive videos and making an impact where you can. It may not impact my past, but maybe my kids won't have to endure what I endured because your videos turned someone's pain into love. So thank you.

Don't worry about the language. Your students, no matter what their age, have probably heard most of them. They most likely learned them at home. Or maybe even escaping out of the teacher's lounge as they innocently passed by. 😉

Question: so the boy gets rejected by the girl, gets the negative thoughts that produce negative feelings and then behaviors over a lifetime, but NOW, later in life,, the negative behaviors acquired are the ACTUAL reasons for rejections. Seems to be a lot harder to correct at this point. ?
@JeffreyMarr
@JeffreyMarr 2 года назад
Exactly. Actions and thoughts compound. If we think something and then it compounds over 10-20 years we are more likely to believe that it's true. It's VERY difficult for people to realize that they have gone down the wrong path and have to undo everything and go back, and so they often dig in their heels and assert that they are correct. It's why there's a phrase for old people being "stuck in their ways"
@jomontanee

I don’t think either of the 2 is healthy. Self-critical or reframing. Because it is not based on the TRUTH.
