Ehhh, the graphics aren't *terrible* but they look.. what's the word.. too, basic..? Not in detail, but, the fire and the gore/explosions are the worst offenders, they look like something from the old PS2/360 days. Don't get me wrong I know the gore and such isn't the main focus of the game akin to something like DOOM, but it just ends up looking cheap.

The game will release on consoles so they need to take that into account. Another thing is that in fast paced game you dont want hyperrealism. If you look at some modern fps/mmo games that have hyperrealistic graphics there is something wrong about it... Clarity, you dont see enemies and things you are supposed to see... There need to be visual hierarchy. In game dev there is a term hero object... It means that models that are important and you see them All the time needs to be high poly extremely detailed while other objects not as much... We Can say that gates of hell looks more realistic but game pace is much slower and be honest so many times some of your soldiers are just idle because you dont see them behind bush...

@@GhilliedMarauderGameplay Yeah definitely fair, I think one of the best games to get read hierarchy right was Warcraft 3, (for me at least). The bright colors and unit designs that stuck out just enough but still obviously fit the environment and world were great. I guess my problem with this game's graphics so far aren't necessarily the unit models but moreso are the explosions, gore and fire effects. Like, they're far too.. what's the word, low detail..? Like, the fire and smoke looks like a 4 sided decal fold model, like a standee. The gore and meat bits look like the old chunks and splatter that would bounce out in things like Xbox, Xbox 360, and old 3D PC games. Also.. the blood is way too thick and covers too much ground compared to the models, it looks like they're dropping paint buckets of marinara sauce. Ironically the troop models are actually what I like the most about this game so far.

@@AtomicRobloxProductions smokes are a bit weird yes but to be honest, in my opinion fire looks good enough. Natural occurences are hard to replicate digitally because they did not follow patterns. Explosions are fine for me as they are realistic. People like that Hollywood representation of huge chunks of dirt flying to the sky as frag granate explodes but it is wrong. Anti infantry artillery is meant to exploded above ground or in the moment of touching solid object so it can send shrapnels and spalling all around with as much strength as possible. If the majority of that power is send to the ground it looses its effectivenes. Things like explosions etc are often times presented just to your viewport in form of flat images same as distant trees are often times just images turning to always face you. Also ragdols are rendered just for you localy in your viewport by you machine to take away preccessing load out of servers. Thats why if you play with friend that want to show you funny dead body you can't see it exactly like he does. For the gore... It's too much I agree... Also the ammount of blood might be overdone but who knows i heard about tanks being literally washed so new crew can operate the tank after old one was torn to pieces.

@@GhilliedMarauderGameplay Ahh okay, I didn't actually know most of it was client side but that makes sense as there'd be much, MUCH less lag. As for the trees and such in the distance, yeah I know that was a technique used since the days of older GTAs I believe, the graphics for the environment I think are good, for me. The fire and explosions, yeah they're definitely hard to realistically replicate, maybe they'll continue to improve them hopefully before release as they still look a bit rough. Also at that last statement, yeesh.. didn't actually know that, I mean I know tank crews had to face down things like AT weapons but tanks are supposed to be heavy *armor*, I never thought something like that could commonly occur.
