Actually there were several episodes where the victim was the villain. It's one reason I liked the show so much. I love how its main theme was that everyone deserves justice, even if they are scumbags.
@@TheStapleGunKid honestly, in the episodes in which the victim is the antagonist their ghosts always seem sad or repentant [(a little late for that, I would have had to understand it earlier but at least they noticed it) the episodes do not count in here the victim did things antagonic and then regret it, since they showed a redemption].
@@latios2588 I'd say they still count. I remember there was one episode where the victim turned out to be a child molester who was killed by one of the boys he was abusing.
Virginia shouldn't have been cuffed, dammit! She did what ANYONE would have done to protect their kid, gotta love there's no black and white in Cold Case, but still.
@@LadyTeePrinceLover If she got a good lawyer (dad's rich, he can afford it) then they could argue that while the law demands that Virginia be sentenced, that she serve her sentence on house arrest or something similar. They may even be able to argue self defense (it can sometimes be applied to defense of another person) given the victim was a pedo, and nothing in Ginny's life prior to or after the murder shows her to be a killer or a criminal.
With all the evidence I’ve think all that might be putting to consideration plus the DA and the courts will probably be reasonable with this kind of evidence
The only great show of the 21st century. That says a lot! With the Great Moral lessons of the original Fugitive, Hawaii-5/0 and Mod Squad. How did the Stupid networks cancel such a Jewel!
I actually like it like this, though.. It felt like there was deeper symbolism/meaning, like her reflection couldn't wash away even when her ghost did.. Even if it was a gaffe, it's one of those cool ones that deserves to be left in :)
So many comments here are about how the victim was evil and deserves no sympathy, but that's far from uncommon in Cold Case. Many episodes had victims who were horrible people. That's the main reason I liked the show so much. I loved how it promoted the theme that everyone deserves justice, even if they are scumbags.
Actually there's not that many! I saw something on the wiki about there only being maybe 6 or something episodes with "evil victims". Even though it's only a few, they are some of the most memorable episodes.
It appears as though finally in the afterlife the Mother felt remorse and shame for what she had done...a little late though. Lilly's reaction upon seeing the victim was powerful. She snubbed the "ghost" because Lilly knew she was no good.
God, I loved this show!!! I’ve been trying to find a place to watch full episodes but haven’t seen any on Netflix, Amazon, etc This helps in the meantime
And for a good reason; if I remember well, the season this episode was in, season 4, it was revealed his older brother had been molested by his coach of... I don't remember which sport, so he has no compassion for pedophiles, no matter the gender.
It's a long shot, probably didn't happen but I just can't help but think the producers and the camera people didn't mean to have the reflection still there when the ghosts disappears. Everyone: ohmygod that is like so meaningful. Her ghost disappeared but he refection still stays because can't escape that house and is trapped there forever. The camera guy, producers and editors:......... Uh..... Yeah. Totally, yep! That's what we were going for. Lolol Im pretty sure they actually did leave it in there for that reason. But it's just funny to think that they might have not meant to do that.
IMO, Stan (for all of his jerkish behavior) didn't know how awful his ex-wife Lauren truly was (in regards to her molesting her son and trying to do the same to her grandson)...
This song's...well the instrument has been in my head for years and I couldn't remember where I heard it from. I said there might be a possibility that it was from Cold Case but I haven't watch this show in years. I knew the guy sounded like Goo Goo Dolls but I couldn't piece together the lyrics or even just the chorus. Told myself I prolly listening to Iris and alternated it. I'm glad I wasn't tripping I can find this song now
I would have really hated the woman too, but why didn’t they just get a restraining order and put her in jail or something? Killing her is melodramatic
They would have to report her for her crimes, which makes the families secrets public. On top of that, either Tad and/or Matt would have to provide proof and testimony of sexual abuse by Lauren. Doubt they'd want to do that. Ginny didn't plan to kill her mother, she only became murderous when Lauren stated she would prey on Matt, Ginny's son.
Don't be too sure. Some things get overlooked. For example, watch how Lena and Stillman suddenly switch places at the end of the montage in "Cargo". I also just noticed the magically disappearing, reappearing shawl on Elizabeth Stone in the final confrontation in "Torn".
@vxy357 yeah true, but it still murder she could of just leave her, abandon her. Accorting to her actions through that episode doesn't mean she deserve to die, its still murder. matter infact no one deserve to die not even bad or grose people. Just letting you know :)
What confused me about this episode was since it is one of the most recent cases, the characters appearances don't change that much except the son Matt. Why would Matt's appearance change so much? It shouldn't have changed that much.
Everybody should tell the story when it happens between a father and mother son and daughter family members murderer killer she has to spend time in education
