It was written and recorded specifically for this episode, much like the song 300 flowers was written for "Beautiful Little Fool", so I don't know if you can find it anywhere... Sorry.
Dottie wanted to spare her daughter Jenny the pain of dreaming and music that she blamed for killing her father, but instead caused Jenny to suffer the exact same loss.
Dottie told herself that that's what she was doing, but she killed Hawk because she was worried that Jenny would abandon her and she would be alone. Her father did and chose his music over her. It was all about Dottie.
Killing him was more about herself than her daughter. When talking to Lily & her exhusband she constantly reflected back on her own emotionational abandment issues, which she developed through her experiences w/ her musician father & the her musician exhusband. She seemed more concerned about how SHE would feel if her daughter left to become a singer rather than what the daughter might encounter out in the music industry.
@Sabrina Hutt Not all parents realize that it's not about them. They can't influence or negatively affect their children's lives for their own needs or desires. The mom definitely had some narcissistic tendencies in addition to her other issues.
I understand the mother. Her ex husband did exactly the same thing what her dad did to her. He left her and her Child ALONE. That means she had to do everything....and all of the sudden her ex husband came back... this is just sad. This men shouldn't have come back. No one deserves the death but I am not really sad about his death..he kinda deserved it...
@@KingBarish007 The father wasn't the one who came back to the family lives. He never even looked for them after he stopped being a musician. The daughter pursued him. When the daughter told him who she was he tried to push her away & explain to her that he was bad news. But the daughter wanted a relationship with him so she lied about having a interest in being a singer & asked him to manage her. The father never spoke to the mother after communication with his daughter began. This confrontation shown in the clip was the first time he had seen & spoken to his ex-wife in years. Prior to this scene everything that happened was about the daughter pursuing a relationship with her father. Once this scene began it became all about what the mother wanted & how she felt, instead of how her daughter felt & what her daughter wanted. But I get what you're saying it's unfair to the mother that the daughter idolizes the father after being absent for years even though the mother has been in her life the entire time
@@JMac7395 well said. I am happy you understanded me ( this is my 2account ). Because it is a horrible scene when you have to live the same life that she lived... I can say this through my experiences. My father left my mother and us for another women but since this another women betrayed him he wanted to come back..but I could persuade my mother to not getting him back to us. He deserved the pain and I don't want him anymore
@@betastic1050 Glad to hear that. It's a good thing your mom listened to you and chose common sense over nostalgia. Did the bastard suffer emotionally?
I actually felt sorry for her. What she did was wrong, but she just wanted to protect her daughter, albeit in a very misguided way. She was left deeply scarred by what happened to her in her childhood!
if the majority of the world was like Dottie nobody would be allowed to have passions and dreams. also music like the kind that her ex-husband loved would never be allowed to evolve and flourish.
I hate she killed him but I understood why, based on how her father ended up, how some singers throughout history have it rough and how some didn’t make it because it was rough. I’m not saying not all singers become addicts or have issues but there are some with big issues. Dottie was paranoid believing her daughter would have struggles that might lead her to a dark path or worse.
At the beginning it seems like it's a different person singing this other than Alexa. Does anyone know if someone else sang the first version? Thanks :)
Her father was a struggling musician who failed to make it big. Dottie grew up in poverty and her father committed suicide when she was a child, making her believe singers are bad parents and selfish people. It's why she left her ex-husband. When her husband, now a successful radio DJ, reconnected with their daughter and decided to help her become a singer, Dottie killed him, believing she was protecting her daughter from that life.
That sick broad should have went to jail I don't give a damn how long ago it happened there is no statute of limitation on Murder She shot that Man In Cold Blood
ok this was a sad episode but am i the only one who thought jenny was hot in the 50's and im allowed to say this and not look like a 30-70 year old creep cause im 16
