I honestly feel bad for the “killer” he didn’t mean to kill his cousin, it was out of anger because of what he went through in Cuba. I truly think it was accidental
In the "Cold Case" world, being beating to death with their own bats has been a hazard for ball players for decades. (Just as high school students were frequently mowed down by faculty members at their prom).
To me it didn't seem as if he murdered him, it was more like unintentional manslaughter. But still one of the best episodes in my opinion and the song at the ending by Nil Lara is like the cherry on the cream...epic
They never go to the point where the killer is actually charged, but yeah in this case, the charge would likely be involuntary manslaughter rather than murder.
I'm friends with Tracie Thoms on myspace (and yes its her real myspace) and she wrote a blog like she always does letting everyone know a new cold case was coming on and that Danny had wrote it.
The dude taking the doer's photo was also seen in the end montage of "Pin Up Girl". You can also see him walking by when Scotty dumps Frankie in "The Long Blue Line".
I loved when Scotty dumped Frankie. It was great. They didn't make a good couple, there was no chemistry between them. I think that their relationship was a writers' mistake. His only suited girlfriend was ADA Thomas. It's a shame they broke up. It was another mistake...😮
@TacoLover1987: I know, it's a major disappointment, as this was one of my favorite TV shows. I live in the US so I manage to catch Cold Case on Wednesdays on Ion Television, thanks.
of what? his career? his wife? i didn't see the end of the episode but it seemed that luque shared everything he got with his cousin. clothes, food.....everything.
The cousin killed him out of jealousy and frustration; he felt that he was owed because he was the one who arranged for him and Luque to leave Cuba. Luque managed to get asylum and the cousin was sent back and tortured by the Cuban government until he was crippled to the point where he couldn't pitch the way he used to. Also, Luque fired his manager who had promised to give the cousin a try-out.
I saw this episode, this is clearly a manslaughter case. Juan knew what he did but he did have enough heart to apologize to Gonzalo, stayed by his side, and took him to the hospital trying to save him.
It was an accident. He made a strong swing with the baseball bat and hit his friend's head by complete accident, but he got too scared of being on jail for this to turn himself in.
