theatergeek82 I thought so too. In this case, I think Jeff didn’t just appear because his murder had been solved. He’s also letting Artie know he’s okay with him getting married.
I'm kinda in a journey to go to very old comments to see if the persons who commented are still on RU-vid (or using the exact same RU-vid account), just for fun, so 😄... Are you still here, nowadays 🤗?

I feel you. I didn't even like Sheriff or When I'm With You until I saw this episode. I'm not necessarily down with gay marriage, but I enjoyed it anyway.
So beautiful, but everytime I see the part where his boyfriend's ghost is at the wedding, I tear up. He shouldn't have been murdered and it should've been them walking down the isle.
There's a very good lesson in this episode. How many people do we hurt when we keep secrets? When we aren't honest with others, or with ourselves, what will the consequences be?
"It's Raining Men" was one of the most watched episodes of this crime drama series. I truly miss this show. Not only did it have a great cast, but it combined great story lines along with great music.
Michael Steele For all you said you said a lot of nothing! If you new anything about the LGBT community which is clear you do not your communist views show that. The show was #1 for a reason people who are educated made it that way. It's follow up show is doing just as well! Sounds like pure jealousy on your end. For all the wasted words you type use some to make a show that will hit the airways of cable. Please I've heard better words from a three year old to make a point that's not filled with racist, discrimination against all people! As to music you'll never be able to tell what real music is with your mind set. Thanks for showing education is needed.
Joey Last Actually it's the communists who are giving the diabolical buttf*ckers the right to marry. I am not a communist. On the contrary, your atrocious spelling and grammar makes you sound just like one. This show was #1 for the exact opposite, it was made for the unintelligent masses and it succeeded at getting their attention with a 2-bit reenactment of the past. Cold Case is proof that millions of people are r*tarded and can't think for themselves. Because you like shows like Cold Case, Without a Trace, and Women's' Murder Club, you my friend will never know what a TV show is. Go back to Kindergarten and have gay sex with a block.
Michael Steele All I did was point out that was this particular episode had extremely high Nielsen ratings. None of the other episodes of this series had come close in the seven seasons this show was on the air. I didn't expect the conversation to veer into another direction.
@@staciereyes-kidd3010 I don’t quite understand what your question is. But if you are asking me , “What my response is supposed to mean?”.. Then I will be concise with my answer. When I said that Carlo is reaping what he has sewn, I mean that when he was young and depended on his “looks” to get him through life, it didn’t turn out very well. He ruined a lot of lives being “SELFISH” when it came to the emotions of others. He knew he had a disease that back then , was killing people. Yet he chose to keep on being very irresponsible with his actions towards others. He did much like most women do in modern times do today. And now he is old sick and lonely.Still thinking that his , now DEPRECIATED looks will get him a relationship. But, much like the modern women of today that took advantage of men when they were young and hot, are now living alone , WATCHING EVERYONE THAT WAS NORMAL LOOKING LIVE VERRRRRRY HAPY LIVES. I hope this clears up ANY questions you may have.
I just watched this episode of cold case. Yes Jeff’s dad disowned him regarding his homosexuality. But he decided to help get Jeff’s partner in the drug trial after Jeff’s death. The dad says that while he hated that his son was gay, the most hateful was that he had to bury him. He did come to terms with Jeff being gay. Unfortunately it had to have crushed him when his other son was arrested for his brother’s murder.
I also found this very touching and lovely. "Lost in love..." lyrics when they are holding hands perfectly shows true love is never "wrong". (Said by a heterosexual girl.)
too true. we've come so far, yet have so far to go at the same time. I live in a place where hate crimes are so rare that when it does happen the whole community gay/straight/whatever comes together to protect the victim.
I lived this history. I came out August 3rd 1982 Exactly 7 days after they named this mysterious disease. No one heard about it until early 1983. The Summer of 82 was the last great summer ....before. Great times in Cleveland, Ohio. it's Raining Men flooded the dances floors in December 82. The club scene was so great that you couldn't believe what was occurring in New York & Los Angeles.
I apologize if I'm prying, but did you contract HIV/AIDS, or were you one of the lucky ones? I respect your privacy if you choose not to answer, but I can't imagine coming out and then "it" comes along. I can't imagine the fear you had.
0:45-1:05 I love the way the victim's father had such different expressions at the different ages. It showed how much he had changed. I once read a suggestion that the guy at 2:04-2:21 is typing a coming out statement. I love that idea.
Damn! This show was just as good as Mod Squad and the original Hawaii 5/0 when it came to moral lessons. The songs at the ending were something special though.
I watched just a bit of this episode ending on TV . I was immediately drawn to it. What a great way to tell a story. PS; I went to check the song, and yes , it was released the same year of the case 1983.
I loved it too. It seems like, in this case, Jeff didn't appear just because his murder had been solved but also to let Artie know he he accepted his getting married. I have to wonder what he thought of his marrying Russell though considering the impression he probably got of him at the party: His beloved Artie with his enemy's drugged out boytoy.
Maybe stunned considering how he was that time, but time also allows people to change, to improve themselves. Seeing how Artie is alive, healthy and happy, and that Russ isn’t an addict and a better man, I think Jeff wouldn’t hold a grudge.
One of my favorite Cold Case episodes- sad reminder of the days when I lost friends to AIDS- Several times I would find myself in tears- I was crushed when the actor playing "Carlo" in the present says "I'm ugly now but I was beautiful"- to make an actor (who is a good looking man) say that line is horrible (and the writers should be ashamed) , and the scene where he sees the gay couple with a baby and realizes what he missed, because he was born too soo n, breaks my heart. the ending as other comments said is terrific, with Jeff's ghost, (in a tux!-) appearing- and the song is amazing.
Just watched the episode tonight on Roku. It was a very good episode. I feel the producers did the episode with good tact, understanding that homosexuality is not an easy concept to condone. Heterosexuals like myself will like this episode and understand what problems homosexuals were going through during the early years of AIDS.
@hkfan1980 The victim was killed by his brother, because the brother was afraid that his inheritence would be threatened and because the victim knew about his brother had been with a guy once and thought the victim would tell their father.
The guy in the pet store contracted the AIDS virus, from what I understand in some cases it can actually make a person age a whole lot faster or at least make it them appear to age faster
I haven't seen this episode or even know much about it but I absolutely love this ending. The song is wonderful and I like the way every one stands up to cheer at the wedding when the chorus hits. I really want to see this episode now! By the way, the murder happened in the eighties, didn't it? The guy in the pet store looked so different from how he used to while nobody else seemed to.
For me this episode was a bit hard to watch. First there was a popular guy that was infected, and still had sex with other people and second it was a brother murder.
In my religion(protestant), and the church I go to we look down on homosexuality. But, I think you should treat everyone equally. God loves everyone gay, lesbian, heterosexual. But paul is ......so many words.....
I'm sure when this song came out, many people thought it was REO or Styx, due to both bands dominating the charts, when this was originally released in the early 80's. File sharing services did this a lot in the early 2000's.
@Gaarathegreat926 They actually play "It's Rainning Men" during the intro. I think that song is too annoying to be played at the ending. There's always a deep song during the endings.
wht i find most depressing is whn a father has only his 2 sons left in his life, one ends up dead (the one the father usually has a prob with) and it just so happens tht it was the other son tht killed him
@adrienglish25 Me too. I have an uncle that I don't see very much, but that he is gay but I still love him however because first is a parent of mine and second because I respect my uncle's decision of being gay because I think that everyone should be threated as an equal, but seems that most of the people doesn't seem to still accept it in the world.
My wife and I watched this show quite a bit and we came to realize that most of the crimes were don’t by accident, fear of being exposed like this one or jealousy. How someone can live for years knowing they committed a crime and thinking they’re not getting caught. In today’s world those who think they can’t get caught eventually do.
I don't know why someone could kill someone just because they're into their own gender or a different race. I grew up in the south in a town that don't seen to have any openly gay or lesbians but I accepted them as human being. :( I have yet to see this episode so how did it end?
