I love how the ending always hits you with the feels. Seeing the words, “Honorable Discharge” and him given the funeral he deserves, with Stillman in his uniform. Just hits you in to the core.
I find it really cool as hell how in this episode, the younger versions of the characters, including the victim, are black and white in a color environment. It's like characters coming straight out of an old black and white movie co-existing with people in today's colorful world, even if for only a few moments. Cold Case is one of the few shows I know of that managed to find a way to be highly creative in more ways than one amid instances like this.
I have always loved the way they do the endings. Flashbacks, meeting up with the victim again, if only for a second. I grew up outside Philly and recognize a lot of the locations.
@@SiccDeville yes it is A busy neighborhood in the south end. Its where culinary, art and music trends take off and fun nightclubs happen. I totally recommend it during the summer its very cool. I live near Philly.
I agree that both he and his friends were very handsome men. That was a sad episode. Poor Jimmy, dying over nothing. At least his loved ones were able to find out what really happened, as little consolation as that is.
This episode had everything in it. What a solider who is off to war goes through the night before leaving, Boy meets girl and evil vs good. Not to mention the best version of Taps I have ever heard.
I mean, really, the only thing missing from this was Nora Lee coming forward with Peter and telling Steve that his brother Jimmy had a son. I bet Steve would have been so happy to hear that, especially with the pocket watch he said Jim would pass on to his own son someday. :')
Music rights from what I've heard. Think about all the great old songs from these time periods, it would have cost a fortune. As it was, you can clearly see for the period episodes that they spent a lot getting right the costumes, cars, etc. Wiki says the main reason for cancellation was low ratings in the later seasons. I actually think Season 6 was the best though.
Officer Tully was a Honorable man with with impeccable integrity. He stood up for a friend. we need more men like him in our military and oath the military people take is that I will not lie cheat or steal or tolerate those who do. I'm glad his name got cleared
I love this ending, it is so touching. I can't help but cry for the tragedy of it all, despite the fact that its only a TV show. I hold the highest respect for all servicemen and women, and they truly deserve it. Does anyone know the name of the actor who plays Tully?
@@LateMarch for the future if u search up the cold case episode and click the ‘fandom > coldcase > wiki’ one there will be all the actors for the characters!
this episode was just on TNT....it was the first episode of CC i've ever seen, and it'll probably be one of my last because that's just not my cup of tea. however, this was a very, very good episode.
Historically speaking, I wouldn't say that soldiers sent to Vietnam or in Middle East, more recently, really protected someone's freedom. That said, soldiers of every time and nation, really does a tough, thankless job and even if I hate war, even if I despite jingoism in any form, even if I will never consider a soldier a saint, the ones who actually fought a war, in good and bad (historically speaking again), they often deserved a better fate than the one they ended with 😔
@ark1567 Historically speaking, war in general is never a good thing. But as the Latin phrase goes, "Si vis pacem, para bellum." ("If you want peace, prepare for war.") President Reagan said this during his Memorial Day speech: "Peace is the highest aspiration of the American people. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it; we will not surrender for it now or ever." Our soldiers who gave their lives protecting and defending freedom and peace did their duty. This episode reminds us of that. God bless all of our men and women in uniform; those who served, those who are still serving, and those who gave their lives to serve.
to MrsMac5 - how can I watch the whole episode. I've been trying to buy the 6th season on DVD with no lucki. Apparently this is based on a true story - James "Jimmy" Tully. Would love to see any more of the episode, if you can post it , or tell me how to get it. Thanks. Who played Jim Tully? I say Salute!!!!
@LateMarch - There are videos Don't know if you watch Y & R or not, " Ryder knows the meaning of being lonely "posted by GreedLin, and "Ryder's Immortal" by GreedLin. They wrote him out on August 3, but I am hoping he will come back, they left it so he could come back. Ryder and Jana "all of your love" by BrathanBrucasLover - for the love scene
Kind of odd seeing the past versions of the characters and the ghost o the victim in black and white, even if it was from that time period. Would've have been okay to have them in living color.
