@@mithooladley yeah but I have it for nostalgia . Reminds me of nights of studying and grandma's house . Even though it's a fact nescafe instant coffee sucks hot when it's blended into a cold coffee it tastes much better and takes me back to childhood .
Not sure about South India but north people don't usually drink brewed coffee at home. We keep instant coffee in our home for our guests because ik they will not like my iced coffee 😂 I once made it for a guest because they wanted to try it and they asked me if I was out of milk because it I was too watery for their liking.
@@vandanasenthilkumar196 atleast you use grounded coffee for filter coffee, people here don't even know about it. I once asked a relative to get coffee beans from UAE. She not only bought a generic brand coffee grounds (atleast the thought counts) but bought one for herself and used it like instant coffee and we're confused 😂
there's something pretty similar if not the same in Italy, it's like slushy but a cappuccino flavour, you can find it in any coffee shop and it's delicious.
In Australia that is called a frappe. (It's like a milky coffee slushie). Often has whipped cream and chocolate drizzle on top. Perfect on a hot summer's day.
Cold coffee is an Indian thing and my absolute favorite among all kinds of coffees. Also i add a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream depending on my mood instead of whipped cream. It's heavenly.
As it's instant coffee powder, brewing it strong on gas more than few seconds gives a burnt taste. So direct usage for cold coffee. You also add some ice to ready coffee. Sprinkle of Cocoa powder/drinking chocolate powder on top gives it a yumm taste.
I find this interesting because I didn’t know there was a name for this but I make my coffee like this sometimes- I’m American btw I just discovered that it was a nice sweet treat for when I get home from school! I guess I owe some credit to you guys
If u don't like soft serve, add a scoop of ice cream.. Here restaurant serve these with vanilla ice cream but there is a restaurant and I ask them to add chocolate instead of vanilla (they offer ice cream too so they have chocolate ice cream on their menu and it costs the sane) I love it with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. You can try with vanilla or chocolate or sth else that goes well with milk
I've always made my coffee like this and I never knew the name for this! Thank you for telling me the name so I can call it the proper name! Love your videos btw
My boyfriend is in the military guy apparently maggie and cold coffee in Indian defence academies is an emotion. He can have cold coffee everyday but it has to be a specific way.
That’s really similar to the regular instant coffee that a lot of my korean friends do, except they whisk it to extreme foamy (almost like whipped cream) and pour it over milk.
@@jrmint2 cool, i didn’t know the origin. just remembered the korean trend that went viral though i figured it probably wasn’t originated in korea due to the name.
@@vmorif yes fried chicken trend in korea too, but it's an american south creation popularized by some old guy named colonel sanders. just the sauced w a sweet hot sauce. much of korean food isn't even korean. like they married a mozzerella stick and a corn dog and it became korean hot dog.
I used to do this as a kid when my mum left me home alone… I never once realised until now (I’m 25) that THIS was a traditional Indian thing to do. I’m absolutely mind blown 🤯
I drank a cold coffee earlier today! And this is very accurate Tho what I did was a bit dif Like we added ice cubes after blending is since it just looks better that way- so ya. It's very tasty and I agree that it doesn't serve the purpose of iced coffee.
Yup I do the same..it gives a stronger coffee taste..also one can water it down by adding more water or ice cubes if you prefer less milk in your cold coffee:)
Thanks. Now I am legitimately addicted to these. I am a giant coffee snob and usually turn my nose up at instant, but I had a small jar in the cupboard from when our stove was broken. I tried it because my partner loves blended coffee. They enjoy it also, but I am just obsessed with it now. Thanks for the excellent tip!
I make those all the time! My friend made up the recipe herself and shared them with me. But, coincidentally she’s half Guyanese and her family there comes from India.
I guess that makes sense. Culturally, adding water to coffee was strange for me because who would wanna drink something so bitter? Milk and sugar all the way 😎
I worked at a hotel and the owners were Indian. they used to make this coffee when he was tired and he needed to get a pick-me-up and I tried it does work. ✌️
I actually had all the ingredients so I whipped some up just now. It's delicious! I added more sugar tho cuz I'm a sweet coffee gal. Edit: Made a second one and added a dash of vanilla and pumpkin spice!
YES! I live in a tropical country and even though cold coffee isn’t common here, I love it and I only drink it at my house because there’s no way to find it, there’s only iced ):
There is a South Indian restaurant in Patna and I always have their Dosa and cold coffee with chocolate ice cream 🙂.. I live in hostel and theirs is the only obe that's not watery.. The combo of dosa and cold coffee us really good. They make good dosa(they are popular mainly for dosa ).. But I think a Marwadi runs it. It's in Marwadi compound and also it's pure veg so makes sense
Hi! Just wondering if it would still tastes good if I made it the night before cause I think my flatmates would kill me if the used the blenders at 4am 😂
@@fortheloveofcats2462 Yes! I am currently trying to convince my teen to not get Starbucks as much since it is soooo expensive and has too much sugar. So, I am trying to learn drinks that will satisfy her cravings for those types of beverages, but are cheaper and better for her.
@@ScarletRose7 I'm talking about very normal simple household. And for a fact we in South India do not offer cold coffee to guests . I'm not sure what you are talking about too
@@catherinejenifer4383 ah maybe it's different in the south. Here in Maharashtra cold coffee is served in every cafeteria in colleges and in cafes and is very popular especially with students. Like I said, I drank it practically everyday in college.
@@catherinejenifer4383In North India also we don't serve cold coffee to guests but that doesn't mean we don't drink it. Mostly children drink cold coffee and adults drink hot coffee here. And I am from the most simplest household you will ever find.
I made this right after watching this video and can't believe how simple and incredibly delicious it is! Thank you. This will be my go-to summer drink.
