0:12 not sure why you couldn't just say his name but for anyone whose curious, the "unnamed German guy" is JoergSprave. he runs a RU-vid channel where he shows off ridiculous sling weapon prototypes; slingshots, bows, crossbows, etc. he also does knife reviews now i guess.
Great video! I have the 90lb cobra version and have done some minor modifications to it and made lots of different bolts for it (and for my Horizone Redback pistol crossbows. It's a great hobby, isn't it? 🙂👍
Yes, 130 lbs draw. The cheap shot is a rebranding of the R9, so everything i said about this applies to that. I got this version because I liked the green.( also R9s were sold out everywhere)
@@bokkenwielderful nice to see! the feature of the unfolding back is nice on the cheap shot! , i may give it a try if they are available here, i'm 7 year's into bow's and ( croosbow and handbow), but the draw concept of the R9 is amazing! hope to see more future vid's ;), i'm doing some bow vid's from time to time, but not so nicely edited! keep it up :)
@@vietnv788 I need to do a video on making the folding stock. I did not record the process because I was not sure how it would turn out, with a drill, tap and grinder it's pretty easy.
I had built a folding stock for mine.... but eventually decided that the stability of the fixed stock is preferable, especially when cocking the 130-pound prod
I can see that. The lever throw was long enough I was always more comfortable "unshouldering" for each shot. Since this review I've seen how various people are speed shooting the magazine fed R9, that definitely needs a solid stock.
@@bokkenwielderful the Gogun Adder today is better than when first released. One more round in the magazine, and the stripper clip magazine reload - it’s awesome.
Thanks for sharing! Been wanting one for a while. They have seriously dropped in price which is what concerns me and the bolts are proprietary (but you proved there is a workaround) however I heard Cold Steel was bought by another company and are dropping prices to unload stock. SO my problem is what if the prong or any other vital parts go bad... what then :( ?
JoergSprave, and MartyFox ( I recomend checking them out) have both made extra heavy draw modifications, by fixing two prods in the stock. The trigger mechanism held up. The leavers did need re-enforcing. If it holds up to that abuse, it should do very well in normal use. The EK archery R9 has all the same parts, so the main design is not going anywhere. On making bolts, basic super glue is a good do all. I use it for the inserts and the fletchings. With care one can fletch even without a jig.
Thanks, I'll be giving the cats treats, when they're complimented. I've been told JaxCe sells a "back bone" to increase poundage. I have not tried it yet, but I'm not in a hurry to increase yet the power is reasonable and I hand this to enough new users, I need it in easy mode.
I'm sorry but there is not. I did not think to make a video for that at the time. It was not hard to do, once I had the folding adapter and angled stock.
@@bokkenwielderful I thought it was funny because most people know Jörg Sprave. He is the brain behind many inventions and innovations. A really down to earth genius
