I know this video is 12 years old but I gotta add that the Natchez is STILL one of my absolute favorites!!! I had sold my original 10 years ago and just last year , I found someone who sold me theirs . Mint Condition. Love this Bowie !!!! Time to break mine out again 🤠
In his age (Robert´s son), I always wanted to do stuff with knifes but never where allowed to. This boy is lucky to have a dad working in such a great company.
2:36 The slo-mo shots of Lynn Thompson cutting in his shirt and tie like a badass, tie swinging in the air is honestly the most epic thing I've seen in a long time!
These are some of the very best videos for a product out there. I have many of your products. Just ordered stuff today. Could not resist the cheap shot, polymer heads and that low priced rondel dagger. I'm old, disabled and walk with a cane. Have several of yours, and can testify that the ax cane will make a bully limp so badly he decides not to push old men around and be tough. Thank you.
I finally purchased a Natchez Bowie, brass and 01 steel. I am thoroughly impressed and well satisfied with this fine Cold Steel Bowie..... Until you have one these knives in your hand, you simply cannot appreciate how well these knives were designed! The balance and quickness of the blade in hand is exactly what CS tells you it is, fast and highly maneuverable....Light in the hand would be accurate. I have no intention of putting my personal Bowie through the rigorous tests that CS has, I believe that the question of durability has long been settled concerning this Bowie..... If you are sitting there and thinking about getting one, you will not be sorry for spending the money..... A Natchez Bowie is something to behold! I will have a leather sheath made for mine but appreciate the lasting durability of the Kydex sheath that came with this Bowie. Thanks Cold Steel! You have NEVER let me down..... Oh, and my Son's hand and a half Great Sword.... well, that thing is exactly what you said it was..... Combat Ready! Thank you for making great products that a guy can count on..... My next purchase is your Warrior Katana.....;)
Man, My Natchez was stolen. Damn shame. Was probably my all time favorite knife. Hope to get another one some day. Mine was a user, and it performed every bit as well as depicted here in this video. It had the absolute best penetration ability over any knife I have ever owned. Chopped with equal aplomb.
+Alek's parodies Right, there are a lot of companies that sell good knives and swords but the quality is almost the same. Cold Steel products are great but very expensive.
Marco Larrazabal me too first machete ever bought and still holding up after many years of abuse www.knifecenter.com/item/CS97AM18/cold-steel-97am18-latin-machete-polypropylene-handle
You can tell you guys really liked this thing because of how many clips you have. I feel like whenever you have free time over there, you take this blade and cut stuff up for fun.
Amazing performance and you know how good it is when the owner of cold steel says " that was fun! " with the same face as a kid in Christmas XD Great Job CS You guys Rock!
Best knife from Cold Steel hands down. Cuts through anything. Tried and tested, awesome confidence for the knife fighter. Thumbs up Mr.Thomson your knives are a tru inspiration.
Any sane boyfriend with a future and good head on his shoulders would turn tail and run if his girlfriend's father was some psycho policing her pussy. Fuck off, weirdo.
Awesome blades, awesome company, awesome kid. I don't agree with everything you stand for Mr. Thompson, but you have built one hell of an organization. My hat's off to you and yours. You've got a customer.
Lynn, you have the best job in the world. All ive been doing the last 6 months is study knives/steels/grips/designs/engineering. I would do anything to work for cold steel.
+Awesome One Yeah i agree. Counting machetes, hawks, fixed blades and folders i have 25+ Cold Steel products, i WANT a Natchez but that cable tang is a deal breaker for me. Lyn and CS please make a full-length-tang version of this knife!
***** that is nice, even one has their own preferences in mantra thing especially knives, but cable tang aren't as popular as full or other tangs, as a matter of fact the only 2 knive that know have those tangs are the Natchez & Laredo knives there may be many others but they are the only 2 I've none of. Nothing new in the knife world as they are probably extremely well made. I just like full or as close to full tang as possible. You own a knife that many people really value.
I think they just don't understand that this "fat man" is Lynn Thompson, the CS president, and other CS guys and in real fight they could easily kick trolls' asses :D
During a ice storm at 3am a guy tried to strong arm me into giving him a ride.. I refused and couldn't if I wanted to as I take the Metro, he had a zip tie dangling from his wrist which raised all kinds of terrifying questions to me. He grabbed me by neck, I pulled it and put it to his abdomen and applied a restrictive amount of pressure.. not stabbing him but I'm sure he felt it. He let go, threw some item's at me and ran out. It scared the shit out of me. I just remember his eye's getting very wide as he looked down and saw the blade and I'm sure that's what dissuaded him.
The animal is already dead. It doesn't care at this point. It all goes to charity too. Everyone relax. People eat burgers and bacon all the time. It's no different.
for a meat lover like me working in coldsteel would be my dream job! i can only imagine how their company barbecue plays out plus they have a chance to test out new knives and swords...... damn you coldsteel!
The fact that only the Bowie Machete and the 1917 Frontier Bowie are full tang makes me sad. What a waste of money this is if it doesn't have a full tang.
Foxhole Atheist Yes. The tang is extremely important. It's obviously a tough knife. The problem is durability. This knife won't hold up to a lot of abuse over time. Unlike Ontario's Bowie's, Becker Bowie, and Cold Steel's own Bowie Machete and 1917 Frontier Bowie, this is a blade attached to a handle rather than a handle attached to a blade and metal to put the handle on. A piece of steel is less likely to break than a piece of steel attached to something. Why else is a full tang a necessity for swords? I mean c'mon, tang is one of the most important parts of a knife too by extension, since people use knives for actual tasks, unlike swords.
A full tang isn't really a necessity for swords, is it? I will definitely support the notion that a full tang on a chopper is the best way to make sure it will never, ever break. Also i wouldn't say this is an "impeccable" knife, but it is hefty, and will probably get the job done.
now thats a knife!!! ive had alot of problems with some of ur products such as the gi tanto and the magnum kukri machete but ive also had alot of praise for the more expensive knives ive purchased from you guys. it may be expensive but if you can afford it then its definetly the way to go
I have one just like this in VG1. Unbelievable the speed of change ups that would literally blow limbs off with ease. Nobody sane would approach you to mess with unless they have a gun otherwise go on with your day.
I am buying all types of knives for 30 years bought my first cold steel two years ago . BEST blade i ever bought have to save for this bowie and their tai pan. great sharp blades.
your knives are so hardcore. ive bought your whole machete and tomahawk line, and a few folding knives, and im SO pleased with the quality. nice as always C.S
MAN! I want one of these so bad. I wish I could afford it. Maybe soon......also just want to say you guys rock, and your products are awesome, and I love how you respond to the pricks/trollers. Makes me like you guys that much more.
The tables are most likely heavily reinforced to prevent breakage and the tops are most likely made of something comparable to compressed wood. I have a walking staff made of the stuff. Think three inches of oak compressed to one inch and filled with a tough synthetic filler. Weather proof and I'm not going to break it but kind of heavy.
