the etched Braids looks terrifying

You're supposed to color in the sketch cards yourself.

The borders definitely restore the iconic visual that use to belong to Magic cards. The star foil too.

Kinda ridiculous that the etched cards look so bad that getting those actually reduces the value of the card. So many of these retro etched cards are cheaper than their non-etched retro counterparts.

Even when I’m feeling down, Rudy’s commentary makes me laugh, also, I love the non etched old borders, look epic

They had the etching right the first time in Commander Legends. Since then it’s all been shit.

The box prices are tanking because naboby openes them, so there are to many sealed boxes and therefore if naboby openes them and keep them sealed, there are not enough singles. Thats why singles prices are high and sealed box prices are low.

At least the etched foils don't seem to warp.

Phenomenal box even with a singular fetch. As always I have listed the expensive cards, and the ones that should (imho) do quite well over time. Those talismans are a fantastic hold card.

Prices are not tanking. They are normalizing to where they should have been from release. Here in Canada at release... USA pricing for boxes were near parity with Canadian boxes. Wizards clearly increased production to better meet demand. Game stores likely assuming supply contraints increased pricing with all the positive hype. Just a thought

This is just my opinion as a non-MTG player/collector: **when the box is cheap, it is more affordable for new players to get in the game, old player to stay in the game, collectors to complete the set and acquire all those flashy looking variants, resellers to flip the single cards, investors to sit on sealed boxes. **Everyone else is just entertained by the whole thing, like watching a serial drama or soap opera produced by WOTC. And The theme song is "Amazon killed the Local Game Store", in the song-tune of "Video killed the Radio Star".

It genuinely looks like they printed the etched foiling wrongly it looks completely different to the previous quality etched foils on mystical archives but closer to commander legends, it also seems a lot of the cards text & foiling is misaligned on a handful of cards. I get the feeling MH2 set & draft boxes are going to age well.

Opened 4 collectors displays. 3 had only one fetch and one had 2. On the other hand I opened 3 set displays, with 4, 6 and 3 fetches per Box. And my Favorite a bundle with 3 fetches and 3 mythics.

The foil difference is one is 'etched' and one is 'foil' Etched is the garbage one without rainbow.

Don't worry, Rudy. Lots of people found those treatments very hard to see/read. But I do like the sketch cards, and super love the basic foil of the retro frames! 😍

Getting fetch lands in packs has been strange for me. Twice now I've gotten 2 fetchlands in the same pack from the set booster packs. Other times, I can crack open 20 packs in a row from the same box and get nothing.

Yup had a booster box with just one fetchland.

RUDY. Just invested in some Retro Foil Fetches and realized that there are 2 different types!!!! Set boosters have a matte finish picture whereas the the collector booster retro foils are completely foiled.

I bought 2 boxes at 420 + tax. Ouch. I bought some at 340. If it keeps going down I'm going to buy more. In fact I plan to add to my position until I shift focus to AFR collector boxes.

0 fetch lands in my collector box, Rudy! :/ Also, no pact of negation or any good MH1 whatsoever. :') Only valuable card in my collector box was the etched foil cabal coffers. That's it. 4x shardless agent in every printing there is. ;)

Only two minutes in and I fully agree with the etched foiling being garbage in this set. Haven't purchased a single Collectors Box for MH2, and it's all because I don't want 80% of my pack to be Pringles with the other 20% being dark, unreadable crap. Set and Draft Boxes ALL THE WAY.

This was WAY better than a Fetch-heavy box, especially with Fetch prices dropping like a rock.

I pulled the trigger on a japanese collectors box and got hosed. No ragavan, no foil incarnations, no retro fetch’s, no murktide regent, no mh1 cards, only cards of note were an extended foil scalding tarn, a retro foil yavimaya and an etchprismatic vista.after seeing 20 collectors box unboxing videos and seeing craziness after craziness i wanted to cry. Ofc I open the worst box ive ever seen. Oh well, maybe next time.

He's an investor, but can't understand why single prices would stay the same or rise while box prices fall. People want only certain cards, Rudy. They don't want to purchase an overpriced box, so they sit back and let others suck up the loss. When the singles become available, there's a lot of demand, because fewer boxes are being cracked. I can't believe you said that. I can't believe I had to explain this.

I don't like that they call these foil etched because they are foiled differently than the ones in Commander Legends. Etched should just mean the frame has that pebbly foil. These are frosted glass foiled.

They did these stupid ass etches because of cost, im telling you. Even in a set with the main selling point being old frame old border foils, they still had to find a way to fuck it up.

some sketch art is better than normal printing, most aren't, which make sense they are just sketches the foil multipliers this time around seems to only be 1.5x at current time.

Those cards that look dark I think are ment to place down at which point they pop! As the light hits the card, actually pretty cool.

It makes sense that the cards are more expensive that the box, if you get a decently looking version of a card, I'd pay more for it than for the used/scratched/unreadable foiled shit

The etched foils are alright, they just look worse next to the regular foil versions. Everytime I got one I was just slightly disappointed knowing it could have been a regular foil.

I remember a few weeks ago how this boxes were supposed to be incredible, it was ridiculous then, it is ridiculous now. A crap product with horrible etched foils you cannot even read. Prices have crashed for a reason, the usual rudy hype to sell his stock was on and idiots believed him. Makes me laugh. Always buy singles you need not hype.

After bummer box of double masters was, little to no reason id ever buy box of anything with modern brand vs picking out singles. This ish just aint worth purchase price even new.

The legacy foil Sisay is a double digit card. It’s a tough pull. The etch foil one is a good card too.

Just opened a set booster that had 4 fetch lands a monkey plus 3 other solid mythics. I have average 4 fetches in every box i opened including one collectors. Have a full play set of all from mh2 but misty and only 3 scalding. But have pulled zero coffeers.

The MH2 etched foiling looking like the glitter fairy went to taco bell on a card.
