Alabama had 28 players in the portal, Georgia 20, and they actually lost 5 stars. People talk as if this isn't happening to every team. Nick Saban retired because he seen this shit coming
That's because Alabama's head coach Nick Saban retired. So, that's why!!!!! Both of these programs are deep with talent. Colorado is not. So, it's a big deal!!!
Dylan Edwards was once committed to k-State, his dad Leon played at KState for Bill Snyder, and his best friend Avery Johnson is the starting QB for KState, as well as KS is his homestate
He turned down a Notre Dame scholarship to play for Prime because he's been with Prime since he was 5-6 years old. These kids are tired of the unfairness. Prime is using Charlie now, he promoted him when he knew Dylan was out, "until he say different" probably next week. Something is 🐠🐟 at CU
@@Dana-xz5nb Charlie is a walk on from the previous coach before Coach Prime took over, and Charlie is featured on a commercial for a product Coach Prime sponsors....tell me how Charlie is being used? I'll wait.
Right we see that but do he want to utilize that way because he just too small. The couldn’t run the ball, why? because their main back was under sizes
It is what it is..... Sometimes we as humans don't always understand the why? Even a genius would ask a question ❓ to make sure that he or she gets it right. It's hard to find franchise players.
Shocking news is finding a mass grave in Gaza... This is why I'm slowly weening my way off sports.. it's bigger issues at the moment and if this makes your world crash I feel sorry for that person...
I listened to what I believe was a fan livestream earlier and people were speculating it was the running back coach being the reason. It would make sense since a good chunk of the RB room left.
My thoughts; I think that he was asked to switch to the position that he had some effect in the game last year, receiver, better yet, slot receiver. Dylan is not a threat to no team, out of the backfield running the ball. I think coach Prime wants a well balanced offense and Defense. He needed a power bruising back to block for the Quarterback, and someone who can hit the hole and make a defender think twice before going back into that hole to tackle. The offense struggled BAD LAST YEAR AND A LOT OF THAT FALLS ON THE FACT THAT THEIR BACKFIELD WAS TO SMALL AND COULD NOT BLOCK FOR THE QUARTERBACK. They were one dimensional.
THE MAIN REASON BOTH RBs LEFT IS THEY SAW THE WRITING ON THE WALL. The new freshman Micha Welch has been killing it at practices. They both saw he might get more playing time than them. They also knew of other RBs coming. They want to both be starters wherever they go. Dylan Edwards has played for Coach Prime for years. When he was a young boy he played with Sheduer and Shiloh. No drama here. The players these days want to start and want NIL money. The Portal allows them to move to teams where they would play more.
K State has DJ Giddens. He’s 6’1 212 and rushed for 1226 and 10 TD. Rec 29 for 323 and 3 TD. Dylan is from Kansas and his dad went to Kansas St. he also misses his gf. i think Dylan’s potential production will be captured by one of slots. CU needs a power back more than they need a catching back. Almost half of his receiving yards came in 1 game. 4 of his 5 TDs came in 1 game. Most of his production came in his first game. We will be fine.
Dylan edwards leaving isn’t an issue at all. He’s way light and can’t run between the tackles, which is what they want to be able to do. Plus a 40lbs upgrade with the Ohio state guy is a major plus
This is the mentality of a 4-8 teams fan. He’s coming to manhattan to make a playoff and compete nationally rather than just on social media like Deion wants to do.
Micah Welch has been extremely impressive in spring practice for Colorado. He's been the talk of spring practice so for. Then walk-on RB Charlie Offerdahl was named as the #2 running back last week. Now This new guy is coming from Ohio State....I think Dylan realized he wasn't going to be the main man this season and decided to hit the portal. This is the first guy to leave that really was a major piece in the puzzle but I can't say I'm surprised. As soon as I heard about Dallen Hayden coming I wondered if Edwards would jump.
This one cuts deep but the game goes on. I fell in love with him as an individual so I will keep up with his career along with the Colorado Buffs. I wish these young men would see the end result instead of chasing these maybes. What Coach Prime is doing may be hard and controversial but that’s what these young men signed up for. Especially if they want to make it to the NFL. Shit only gets harder the higher the levels.
Apparently he’s teaming back up with his longtime childhood friend, Avery Johnson, who just so happens to be the QB at K-State. Like CP says, better have something lined up before you enter the portal.
Plus, his favorite player went there and was considered undersized and still got drafted by the Cowboys: Deuce Vaughn, and I think his dad went there too.
Man they don’t know how close to a real NFL training camp there practice are, they’re not use to every single day your job is on the line I’ve personally seen guys give up the second day of practice in front of the facility waiting for a ride back to the airport because of the pressure. That’s why you end up with the best of the best on the Fence players get weeded out. The guys that hang in there they will have a better chance of at least making to a training camp as a UN drafted free agent just because they have been coached by real NFL coaches and players. They thought they would be guaranteed a starting position but getting a guaranteed opportunity to compete! When Coach weeded out players that second year at JSU he went on a crazy winning streak! Weed out players and was off and running!!
These Colorado fans are beyond goofy they keep talking how all these players transferring aren’t starters ok well one just left, you still need depth which they are losing as well and also some of the players who left were also part of last cycles recruiting cycle hell one from this years cycle just left how are you supposed to build a program if you can’t keep the HS recruits.
do you know whats coming? CU already has a better RB coming in dallan hayden they have 2 4 star RB visiting next week and freshman drelon miller could be an upgrade at RB. Football has changed the best teams in college football arent winning with homegrown guys anymore.
@@tyreek.6815 lol not hating u puffs couldnt run the rock last year and got stomped ! facts who u gonna call this year ghostbusters? lol u puff fan are delusional
He jumped in the portal after they made Offerdahl 2nd string and brought in Hayden. To much comp at the rb position, even though OC Pat Shurmur built a package just for him.
Coach prime always say that he knows who is leaving. I think He knew Dylan was leaving when he made charlie #2. I love CU but CP plays around on the field to much for me. You cant play around with some kids and overlook others.
@tyreek.6815 Its kind of ironic after Offerdahl was named 2nd string, Dylan leaves. I didnt have to watch that video to make that assumption. Use math mane, put 2 and 2 together.
Spring game only going to have two RBs smh my take is these guys want to get their Carries and know they will be passing 70 percent of the time also coach flea may be a issue
Rumor is he does have a large NIL deal with KState. He is in the locker room and probably feels they’ll throw more than they did last year. And as a shared #1 RB he probably wouldn’t get more yards than he did last year. So it’s a combination of the three. I would guess reason are 30% for the bag, 50% because of less run opportunity due to pass preference, and 20% for not being THE #1 RB (not shared). I think that signing put him over the edge when he was already teetering
Because being two dimensional allows you to be a passing threat as the defense can’t zero in on the passing game with that drop 8 defense which is BIG in the big 12. In the big 12, you have to be able to run the ball man.
@@Prodebrioactually, he’s wrong. In the big 12, being one dimensional is noooot good. The drop 8 defense started there, and teams like Iowa st, okst, k state among others are really good at it. If you can’t run the rock, you could be in trouble.
Terrance Brooks leaving Texas = As a lifelong Longhorn, I'll say this: He was welcome to stay but he was welcome to leave too. He got burned too many times with totally blown coverage 1 of every 81 plays. Almost once a game. It was clear his job was on the line. 🤘🤘 It feels great to say we're going to dominate this conference.
Annoys me how so many people talk shit and pray for colorado/deions downfall.. Whenever something small occurs at colorado the media blows it out of proportion..All just want colorado to fail
It will be interesting to see what Prime does after his kids graduate. Deon not sitting around watching kids head out without more coming in. You think hes done turning that roster over before the kids' last season? Youre crazy. But after they finnished? We'll see what he does then for real....
Just an idea, I am interested in a "where are they now" type of video detailing where all the transfers from Colorado went and how their football careers changed for better or worse.
2 things happened. Thing one was Charlie Offerdahl getting a scholarship and being promoted to the #2 RB. Who's #1? Micha Welch? Thing 2, Dallan Hayden comes onboard. Then, boom! Colorado loses 3 backs in just a few days. These things are definitely related.
Dylan was huge in the first game last year, and then mostly irrelevant as a small back sent up the middle to get stuffed far too often. What is most shocking in his departure is what it seemingly represents, as he was a Coach Prime kid since peewee footnball. This year he knew he wasn't going to be a featured back, but would have plays as receiver designed fo him. That said, with all the studs at WR here, would he really get any reps at wr? Wish him well, and this does sting for more than football reasons.
Word on the street about Terrance Brooks is that he was upset that Jahdae Barron was getting the starting reps over him in the spring game. Also heard some babble in the Longhorn universe about wanting more money out of his NIL deals
As a KSU fan, I hope he comes home. Avery is working on getting him. However, keep a very close eye on TAMU. Collin Klein is the offensive coordinator there and was big on his recruitment to KSU. College station to Wichita is about 8-9 hours, so not too bad. Manhattan is about 2 though.,
I'm definitely not happy Dylan is gone; however, watching Pat Shurmer's press conference today, I think I have a better understanding on why he might be leaving. Pat talked about the importance of pass blocking for running backs. Dylan is not big enough to block! Period! Last year he couldn't pick up a blitzing LB or DB to save his life! That said I wish him well wherever he ends up!
I genuinely love Edwards game and energy. Well mannered, respectful, intelligent & talented. I'm excited to see his progress and wish him the best. At WHAT stage is a player a STAR RB with 300 yards on the season. The vast majority of those yards vs TCU. Lets actually be serious. He is talented as stated & made probably the right decision. The Talent in the RB room would affect his carries & he wants to be the featured back. But C'mon man. The analysis needs depth.
He was originally committed to Kansas State, then flipped to Notre Dame, and then right before NSD flipped to Colorado. Kansas State is most likely his landing spot also because his father played football and was an All-American at K State.
I think Edwards knows this the year for Shedeur to showcase why he could potentially be a first round draft pick or even number 1 draft pick which means pass pass pass not much love for the run game. Edwards going where he can showcase his skill set as well, as a all around runner back not just a receiving back
Before I watch this, reminder that the offense will be EXTREMELY pass heavy, it will be running back by committee and the position will not be featured - it will just be used to keep the defense on their heels enough to set up the next pass... The transfers are all looking for a more balanced offense / more touches
The fact is Dylan Edwards was too small in the offense. He is super quick and should have been used better on the recieving end and more plays that stretch out the offense on the perimeter. He ran far too many plays into the interior of the line and was tossed backwards. It sucks that he was a Jackson State guy. This transfer portal is crazy and changes need to be made. Kids are flying out of the schools at a rapid pace. That is a bad thing. I will miss Edwards on the team.
Young players like Anthony Hopkins, Dylan Edwards, Jaden Milliner Jones, Eric Brantley, & Jacob Page are the future and shouldn't be leaving your program. This is not good! 🤦🏼♂️
He had 1 Great game against TCU which was the first game of the year!!! The kid couldn’t break a tackle all season!!!! He a 1Trick Pony. When I heard Prime say he was getting him some snaps at receiver I knew it was a message!! You will not be a RB at the next level Bro!!
As a Nebraska fan he’s is not coming the RB room is already full another will just lead to a domino effect. We have Rahmir Johnson,Gabe Ervin, Emmett Johnson, Transfer Dante Dowdell also a redshirt freshman.
What is beginning to bother me is, if we continue say that players are leaving because they don't wanted to compete for their spot what happened to the expectation of "character"? These RBs were on the team last year. I do realize the timing of the RBs leaving: 1st CP designates incoming freshmen RB Micah Welch as second string 2nd CU signs RB Dallan Hayden out of the portal. 3rd both RBs from last year jump into the portal. There might be other factors beyond this, but these factors are as clear as day. However, we need to take a step back and try to understand (maybe it's none of our business) what is the dynamic developing here.
Colorado is dedicated to throwing the ball most of the game. It's the identity they are developing with a QB like Shedeur. Dylan probably wants to go to team that's more run- heavy.
This loss is devastating for the “culture of Prime”. Dylan has a longstanding relationship with Prime, was his first high recruit of last year and is a fan favorite. I can see why the entire team would have been frustrated down the stretch last year with all the losses. However, this year, even if they brought in the guy from Ohio State, I see with my own eyes, the passing plays and yards Dylan was racking up in practice. He is not a true RB1 body, but his speed and versatility were definitely going to be on display this year. Unlike how the OC last year had him in on max protection to block, the line is improved and he would have had ample opportunities to showcase his skill set and redeem his rookie season. I just don’t like the message it will send to other players that if Prime can’t keep Dylan then you know there is something going on behind the scenes. I don’t need that to be added to the ingrained Prime hate right now. Smh.
Do you think it’s possible because of scheme change? Dylan Edwards as seen at TCU game thrives on space. The new offensive coordinator Colorado has like more downhill running
Most kids are entering the portal for money, or because they don't want to compete for a position. So if it seems odd why someone would enter the portal it's probably for one of those reasons.
Matt, perhaps if you do another Colorado video in the offseason, can you address how is Colorado's NIL funding? I don't think they have whale support like Oregon or Arkansas (like what you mentioned with bringing in Calipari). Sure Prime can sell the kids, but does he have the NIL money to go after players in the portal now? I am afraid college sports, due to unregulated NIL, is soon going to turn into a small bunch of well funded programs monopolizing the top players and everyone else scrapping over the leftovers.
I see a couple other possible reasons that may not have been mentioned here: 1. Tampering. (Remember: the NCAA can no longer enforce their rules against this). Another program reached out and offered him some NIL $$$. -- If this is the case, I wouldn't be surprised to see him pop up at an SEC or B1G school in the near future. 2. Maybe he wants to be closer to home? K-State did try to recruit him well before he ended up at Colorado. Others have mentioned his connections (Avery Johnson and his father). Though I consider this somewhat less likely than #1.
He was committed to Notre Dame! His family lives in Kansas, maybe he was to be closer to home. Nevertheless he was a key piece of CU's offense and he will be missed.
They stopped using him correctly after the first game. He had 3 tds against TCU and just 1 td the rest of the season. Tragic for a guy with his skill and all that passing thety were doing. He shouldve been a check down nightmare
I like the kid but I never felt he fit the buffs play style. He’s a good player and can be a game changer. Shedeur is a heisman favorite he’s throwing that ball sometimes 50 a game. They need a rb that can get tough yardage and fight through tacklers. Edward’s wants to be an all purpose back where he can showcase his abilities. He just have to find a team that scheme fits him how Oregon for example does with undersized half backs
It’s crazy how the media overhypes CP an the buffs. I just looked at the portal an The buffs aren’t the team with the most players lol why do you think that is?
I'm gonna Guess it's Kansas State He's Heading To. Dylan Edwards Father Played there and YES, It was Painful to hear him leaving...He was on the first Deion Sanders Team, seriously Talented and Capable Player and Gadget is not a bad Label. lol The knock was because of his Size he was not the best Backfield Blocker but He was a Serious Threat to come out the back field freezing a Linebacker to defend. Anyways. The Train Keeps A Rollin.
Maybe he doesn’t care for the way he was going to be used in the offense under the new OC along with the other things going on. There seems to be a lot of changes. They lost the other RB they stole from Houston. Something’s going on with this offense……
Dillon had one great game. Couldn't block and made a few plays after the tcu game. He won't be missed. Micah, Charlie, and hayden will take care of this business. He wants to be the guy.
Sad news. I would have stayed even if it’s just to return punts or kick offs. Negotiate with the coaches and University or even some sponsors to get some NIL money and become the next Devin Hester. and keep the key WR fresh as possible
It’s Hayden and Welch combined there better suited for this years type of offense direction that there heading in there more into a pro style offense they want more of power runner and balanced nice blend of power and good change of pace backs Dylan is electric and fast but very small tbh won’t make it to the league as a RB maybe a special teamer and Kansas state was where he was heavily recruited to and was gonna choose before ultimately going to The buffs and he is from there as well it’s his Hometown
Maybe Dylan is thinking, I was here last year and in the off season putting in work. Now, this RB from Ohio State is going to take my #1 spot...... I'm leaving 🏃🏻♂️
I believe Dylan was leaving and they had that talk, before recruiting Hayden. Dylan should feel some type of way. He earned the right to be RB #1. I believe Dylan wants more carries he wants to be a Running back and thats not what he getting at CU
