I recently completed a second thru-hike of the Colorado Trail in as many years. Although I had a great time on my first thru-hike in 2022, I left that experience feeling like it wasn't my best rep. I can't stop on a bad rep.
So, I decided to do it again. This time armed with more knowledge and patience for the difficulty of the altitude and terrain. This video brings my first 5 days on trail to the viewer.

Most of us have enjoyed years of listening to you on the trails mile after mile. The soundtrack of all those hours are playing as I watch this hike. Well done.

Love the way you phrased this. Those voices in my head that led to all that talking have quieted down significantly, but I concede it's what drew many viewers to me. I think it's the ole "the crazy voice in his head that comes spewing out on his videos sounds a lot like my crazy voice in my head" phenomenon. My hope now is the silence and stillness I am finding taps into others' silence and stillness that we have all lost at some point in our lives. It has been a long journey to quiet those voices down. 🤘🕓

I truly love this new format. So creative and I love how it allows for the scenery and landscape to be showcased. Although, I also loved hearing you talk - I learned so much from you during your AT hike. This is amazing 🙏

I’m enjoying the new video style and appreciate the immersive experience. The vids are like you’re listening to the words without hearing any talking. These are my favorite type of vids which show the story unfold as I find myself daydreaming and thinking possibly with a little luck it will be my time soon enough. Once again great job much appreciated ER.

It is such a treat to allow myself to be calm and still and totally absorb this journey of yours. Thank you for allowing us to experience this trail and your journey in such a special way

Haven't watched you since the AT! Breath taking views. Brought tears to my eyes. Idk if I believe in reincarnation or not, but if there is such a thing, my spirit has most definitely lived in the mountains. ✌🏻💜

I think we all have the calling to places like the mountains (maybe from past lifetimes for sure), but most humans have stacked too much noise on top of themselves that block out the subtle call to return to the source! 🤘🕓

Thanks for sharing your adventure. Sometimes words fail us on the trail. It's a great reminder to just soak in the amazing views.

Thanks for taking us along. I did 7-11 last year and 1- 6 in 2021. I stayed at the snowshoe motel as well last year after I did seg 7. I did 7 with what only the food for that seg then went into Frisco to pick up my resupply I sent myself at the post office. I just decided then to stay at the motel and head out on the rest of my hike the next day.

This may sound goofy, but I just love that you take those local buses. I'm impressed the communities have them, and they are also there for the hikers. I remember you taking them in VT for the Long Trail hike too. I love the quiet of these videos. Hike on!

I lived in Colorado for about 4 years. It’s a completely different experience than hiking on the East coast/Southeast. Dry, arid, chilly, dusty, rocky, harder to get O2, storms can get real bad in the summer, hard hiking, but hands down has the best trails out there. Some of the best camping spots you’ll ever find too. The trail designs typically make sense and there’s a crispness to the air you can’t explain. Thank you for your videos ❤

In my 65 years on earth I know that keeping a flexible mind is important to living a good life. However, I am having a hard time watching an Easy Riser video without the endless ramblings! LOL! Truly this maybe the best video ever! Seeing the room number 22 is a reminder of the number of vets who take their life daily. Seeing the light traveling down the trail reminds me that God is the light unto my path. The quietness reminds me to be still in the morning and listen for His small still voice. Job well done! God Bless America and all that keep her free! PS your Dawgs laid a beat dog on those Cats!

Thank you Thank you ER for taking the time to put together these beautiful videos. I watched your 2022 CT videos many times, and I'm sure I'll do the same with these. I've read and enjoyed Pushing North. It made me wonder if you've ever read Jill Bolte Taylor's Whole Brain Living - it's quite different, but complementary in some ways and I think would be interesting to you.

Beautiful video ER. As much as I enjoy the format I wouldn’t mind if you gave us a video of your “chatty” self. Enjoy yourself out there.
